Wow! I actually saw a male technician doing sonography! God bless him! There should be a push to increase gender diversity in historically gender specific professions.

As a guy do you think I should get into the field or would I be less able to get a job? Im thinking about being a Cardiac Sonographer rather than studying OB-GYN.

Hello. I work full time 8am-5pm. Do you think it would be possible to complete an associates degree in sonography while working full time? I understand it depends on the scheduling of the school but I’m wondering if there are typically online options and night classes for this type of major.
@emmakight3863 Жыл бұрын
My school states specifically that it is not recommended to work and try to do the program, at the same time. I did most of my prerequisites online. However, the program I’m applying for will be full time, in person, 8-5 Mon-Fri.

I’m thinking of being a cardiologist technologist. Do I go to school for sonography or do I go to school for that actual career? Thank you ☺️

You could go to a community college that offers sonography classes , sonography is ultrasound so they’re the same. You can get your major in 2 years :0

Do you work together with other sonographers?
@vvetzabet37493 жыл бұрын
no, i dont think so. its usually just one examining a patient
@brdrptrl063 жыл бұрын
So you might have other ones you work in a shift with if you work outpatient or even at a bigger facility during normal business hours. But often it’s just you with your patient in the room.

I’ve been interested in ultrasound but I’m really squeamish about bodily fluids, does anyone know how often sonographers deal with gross stuff?
@Dailyy_haley Жыл бұрын
I’m not a sonographer or anything but when I had a miscarriage and had to have an ultrasound at the ER, my “bodily fluids” were all over the place. When she removed the ultrasound I literally sprayed the bl**d on her. So I’d say that they do quite a bit, at least in the ER.
@keribere244 Жыл бұрын
@@Dailyy_haley ehhh maybe I’d suck it up for a few years working in a hospital then move to a clinic. But I’d take blood over being vomited on, if I know I’m doing a good thing maybe I’d tolerate it though 😅
@pluhformybruh11 ай бұрын
@@keribere244 yeah if anything, just blood, but honestly a sonographer ever has to deal with actually helping the patient with care. Usually interactions are only an hour or less, and since all you need is gel for ultrasound to work, not much has to happen.

Seems like this college doesn't teach correct posture when scanning the patients. Lots of them had their arm stretched more than 30 degrees
