Bayern may be the most popular and successful team in the region, and what 1860 Munich lack in silverware is certainly made up for in terms of support and atmosphere at their home ground - The Grünwalder Stadion.

The away team today, Dynamo Dresden, were one of the most popular clubs back in the days of the GDR, and some may even suggest their fans are the most hardcore in the country.

In sum, there are many historic clubs that have fallen down the leagues due to financial mismanagement or other reasons, but home or away the fans always turn up in vast numbers - Honestly If you take time to research, there are some SERIOUS fan bases in those lower depths that no doubt will rock the more mainstream followers of the game the day they ever return to top flight football.
Lastly, i just wanna say that if you ever wanted to have a weekend of ground hopping football clubs, packed stadiums, passionate fans, affordable prices … it’s very hard to look past experiencing a weekend of German football.
Very serious organic raw fan bases in at times old fashioned stadiums … a journey through time?
Standing terrace culture is still alive … somewhat - It’s a 50+1 world and football is for the fans !
