I don’t understand why your channel isn’t growing faster?! You have great content and you are so knowledgeable! Keep up the good work. I am also in Florida is zone 9B but I am in a urban area..we have 1 acre but it is surrounded by trees. Hard to get good sun!

KZbin is definitely not as easy as one might think. But I do feel like I’m hitting a stride. Thanks for the support! Nice, we have the same growing conditions. Sometimes partial shade can be your friend in the summer time. Best of luck with your garden!

Say that I'm putting one up using a cattle panel. It gets pretty hot and dry here in the summer and many plants like tomatoes tend to wilt in this heat. Could i construct one over the top of some of my plants and give them some shade without losing to much sunlight that the plants need? If so, what do you think would be some of the better plants to put on the trellis for this to work best.

Our heat index can be well over 100 degrees here in Florida in the deep summer too. What I would personally do is heavily mulch the soil surrounding the base of the plants. This will help retain moisture. Make sure it’s an indeterminate tomato variety if you plant tomatoes on the arch. I also love planting watermelons (sugar babies), cucumbers and squash (candy roasted, sugar pie pumpkin) on our arches. Let me know how it goes!

@@Homesteading.with.Shelby Yeah I'm in California so I understand the hot and dry heat. The hot summer tends to kill my tomato plants that is why I thought hiding them under a trellis might help if I can get the timing right on giving them enough sun to grow before they get shaded to much by a crop growing over the trellis to provide some shade.

Most of this video about growing vertically showed mostly you talking. I was hoping instead to see where you placed your panels and the overall configuration of your vertical garden space.
