Hi Winston. I just subscribed to your channel. I am a breeder of mini and toy Australian Shepherds and I am impressed at the way you train (no treats) and your ability to not only communicate with your dog, but to communicate what it is like to have an Aussie. Nice job and love the natural tail. Good luck with your channel!

Thank you😁!! To be honest, I do use treats but only when I teach a new trick at the very very beginning so he understands the motion then I use his rope because he goes crazy for that thing 😛

@@winstontheaussieshep I get that, but you are not a constant treat dispenser. I really like the way you work with your dog.

My husband and I lost our Aussie "Bandit" last December, he was 12. I cried nonstop for at least 2 weeks. We are hoping to get a black tri-colored brother and sister from breeders here in AL soon, they are 7 weeks old!

I have an Australian Shepherd. His name is Apollo ( 3 months). Would love to do some of those tricks you all displayed; but right now he is treat driven. Trying to get him free from expecting a treat every time. Also I watched one of your other videos, where you stated "people mentioning not good for first time owners" yet you and your dog are doing amazing. It feels good to know someone is in the same boat with me. 😊Slowly getting over the puppy blues, but enjoying my little velcro. Your videos are really getting me through this tough time.

I love your videos and your dogs. I've been watching as many as I can in one day lol I'm getting a mini aussie for my birthday next month and I'm doing all the research I can for getting a male mini aussie. Your videos are very helpful!

My Aussie was tough as nails too. Good guard dog and always down to get active outside. I miss him every day. 😢

This! It's amazing to see that even if they hurt themselves, their still willing to push through (I obviously still tell him to stop if he does). I'm starting to see the dog guardiness in him as he gets older 😆. Sorry for your loss ☹️

I lost the most important and loved friend that I have ever had a few days ago. My schnoodle Coco randomly camw down with an upset sumach one day, completely recovered the next day, abd then wouldn't eat, drink, walk, or use the bathroom on the third day. I took him to the vet thinking that he possibly have a minor to moderate issue only to find out that he was bleeding out from internal bleeding. I don't know how he developed internal bleeding, but he did have a minor scuffle with an off leash dog that resulted in I small wound on his inner hind leg. However, this was at least six months ago, so I don't see how it could have been the cause. There is nothing I hate more than an irresponsible dog owner who will not leash their dog. I shouldn't have to worry about getting rushed by a dog every tune I go for a walk. Having to make the decision to put down the dog that was completely healthy only a few hours prior absolutely crushed me. I cried for days and still find myself staring blankly at the wall because of the shock and soul crushing depression. I've had dogs get sick and eventually die, I haven't had a dog go from healthy to being on death's door in such a short time The vet mentioned a $5000 surgery that still most likely wouldn't even work. It sickens me that vets take advantage of vulnerable, grief stricken people in situations like this. However, I have regretting not at least trying the surgery. This will haunt me forv the rest of my life. Even as I type this I find myself constantly looking over at his bed expecting to see the companion that stole my heart only 7 years ago. I've experienced the loss of nearly every friend I've had from unexpected premature deaths, not one of those losses hurt anywhere near this badly. I have been strongly considering getting a mini Australian Shepherd soon. I've looked at other breeds, but I keep coming back to the mini Aussies. I can't take this crippling pain and devastating grief much longer. I feel that a mini Australian Shepherd would help me get rid of the gut wrenching pain that I feel.

Yup! The only downside people need to consider, and it's not really a downside, but if you don't give them enough to do, they will come up with things on their own.

Yeah Australians are the best, so are Australian shepherds. I have a German Shepherd but I don't call him a German. Get it right.

Marty B get a life no one cares what you call ur dog at all. Literally, no one on planet earth could give two s****. Calling an Australian shepherd an Aussie is very, very, common. In America, Aussies (the people who live in Australia you are referring to) are called Communists

An Australian Shepherd is your best friend. He wants to be with you. He wants to make you happy. Contrary to popular myth they do not need hours and hours of playtime. Nor do they need hours and hours of walking and running. if you're looking for a smart loyal and loving dog you cannot go wrong with an Aussie.
