PA is a place for people who like a peaceful life. Lots of nature and small quiet towns. The winters here are really the only thing that take away the appeal.

Moved from florida to chester springs 2021. Some things are good here(shools,communities,lakes and parks but not the air quality or some of the streams and rivers ...oh, the traffic is worst anywhere 45 min out around philly now . Nicer people than fl too.

Visit first. Jersey shores pa is very nice. Beautiful and quite. Lots of space. Matamoras is nice too. So try to come and look around. I think you would like it. I am in Hudson valley NY but visit PA often☺️

Moving to PA from Florida.fell in love with a historic mansion there and in Florida it world be 10-20 times the price plus the town has low crime good schools and all the amenities in town we need including a top rated hospital schools major stores restaurants parks and more. We lived in Michigan for 8 years so we know winter weather and actually prefer it over Florida's never ending heat and hurricane issues plus we strongly miss gorgeous fall and spring. One thing I will miss is the ocean but pa has many streams rivers lakes and hiking trails plus we will have more time to enjoy it all because in Florida it was non stop work to survive plus hours a day in traffic.

PA is honestly a place for 2 types of people. 1. People who want just a quiet simple life. 2. People who need a clean slate to build new things in. It's not a state for people looking for already established modern things. You either enjoy what is already there or you create something new yourself. I grew up in a dumpy little town outside of harrisburg. For years it was your typical decaying rust belt town but in recent years, newer housing has been built and so many small businesses are popping up everywhere. If you wanna live in a nice place, you can build it yourself or you can complain that somebody else didn't do it for you.

And has many bad things. You know like every other state. East PA is completely different than West PA and south and North.

Pennslyvania is cheap compare to new york where I'm from .. Pennslyvania has it's problem but at least they don't tax social security taxes when you retire.

Where in Pa you live??? Because all that can be said for cali, NY, and all other states. PA has it's good parts and its bad parts like any other state. So not all of PA is like that. I'm from NYC and I like it here PA compare to NYC.

I use to live in PA and they do tax you to death! Maybe you get exemptions, but you have a high Property tax, school tax, township tax, occupational tax and whatever else they have come up with since I left. And there are 38 states that don't tax SS.
