Just got an E-Tron 55 Lunch Edition fully loaded with all options/spec with all options for under £38k with no deposit! Sold my Kia EV6 to get it, getting back my hefty deposit for the Kia and moving to the 20k miles driven 2020 E-tron 55, which is a huge step up from the Kia EV6 in terms of quality and spec/speed and it is bigger of course and 4 wheel drive. The E-tron was £89k new in 2020!!! lost 4% battery capacity on testing but still seeing 220 miles in UK Cold spring, probs 180/200 miles winter. Who needs Kia EV6 300 miles range (actually 255 miles in REAL life unless you drive at 40mph lol) EV used is great! we also bough a used e-208 GT spec for £21k with 2.5k miles on it! I recently seen an i3 FOR UNDER £9K!!! Not sure how they are getting 161 miles in this video! I drive fast at 40-70mph to work 5 days a week and still see great range. It will charge at a 150kw charger in 29 mins 5-99%. 7KW at home is 12 hours BTW. The camera mirrors are amazing! you get used to them in about 1-2 days amazing.

It is worth mentioning at this moment in time, Audi are not supporting 2019 and early 2020 models for any of their digital services such as charge status, function on demand and pre-conditioning via the My Audi app. This is widely known globally on various forums. So maybe a second hand e-tron older than mid to late 2020 is not worth getting otherwise you may find yourself stranded because the app didnt tell you that public charger stopped charging or in winter, your battery is not efficient because you could not pre-condition the car.

@examinerian3 жыл бұрын
@@minibx6659 I get your point. However, some alloy designs have spokes that curve out to the hub, so catch a kerb. Some tyres have anti-kerbing design so protect the rims (Goodyear Eagle F1'A, for example). SUVs generally have deeper tyre sidewalls, although fashion over function buyers might want 22" diamond-cut rims on a Range Rover Sport, (then made worse shod with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2, rather than something a bit less track-focussed). A family crossover doesn't need huge alloys. So, it's not most cars, but some manufacturers do seem to combine OEM wheel and tyre designs that result in more kerb damage. My friends with Audi and Porsche often pay for alloy kerbing insurance, the ones with Mazda, Merc, Land/Range Rover - even one who just sold his previous gen BMW Z4 - never bother, or it doesn't occur to them because it's not really an issue. Mind you, give any car to different drivers and the amount of casual damage will change for each.

My 2021 Audi e-tron with 56,000 miles lost a lot of range suddenly November 2023. A 100% charge range of only 171 miles. An 80% charge range of 156 miles. This never went back up either. The temperature never went below 50° outside. I always charge at 80% unless I'm taking a trip And I do this every night at home. I rarely use a fast charger unless I'm taking a trip and need to get home. I spoke to Audi about this and they said the battery health was fine, battery degradation was normal and that there were no error codes so the battery was in good health. This is ridiculous to me. Not to mention that a $75,000 vehicle is now only worth $32,000 for trade in value. And now the e-tron has a battery recall due to a fire risk. Before the battery issues, the car was one of my favorites. And I was all on board the electric vehicle evolution. Not so much now.

The batteries will last hundreds of thousands of miles. At the moment there’s only 2 Audi Q7’s for sale on Auto Trader with over 200,000 miles on them. This equates to just 0.2% of all the Q7’s on sale. In fact the number of vehicles for sale with over 200,000 miles on the clock on Auto Trader only accounts for ~0.1% so I don’t really think your concern is overly valid 🤷♂️

@SusieSmart3 жыл бұрын
@@paullacey2999 I mean there’s a hell of a lot less to go wrong with an EV so I doubt it’ll be “on its last legs”. The cells in the BMW i3 have been shown to be able to retain 80% of their original capacity after 4,600 cycles thanks to excellent thermal management. The Audi has a fantastic thermal management system (I believe it has 2 cooling circuits) so if we assume it will “last” the same 4,600 cycles it means the battery will only reach 80% at around 920,000 miles. So I think after 200,000 miles the battery will be perfectly fine, degraded slightly yes, but certainly not unusable. The data from Tesla owners (not Tesla themselves) shows the average degradation at 250,000 miles to be between 8 and 10% most of which occurred during the first ~150,000 miles before slowing down. Lexus offer a 10 year / 625,000 mile warranty on the battery in the UX, think they’d offer that if they weren’t confident about the longevity of their batteries (who’s cooling systems are nowhere near as advanced as the systems used in BMW’s and Audi’s)?
@entropy54313 жыл бұрын
The batteries are literally the last thing to worry about on an EV, most have warranties for 100,000 miles which is a higher mileage than most petrol cars ever get to before being scrapped. (Possible exception is early Nissan leaf.)

@@mariush573 Sure: I will try: first one, with under 60k, bough from dealer as brand new, driven reasonably, got rear engine fault (the one with the coolant leakage), that caused some metal parts entering the gearbox and blowing that up as well (at least what the dealer explained). Happened a month ago, they replaced both parts in warranty but there is still some weird noise, and the dealer recommended we sell it quick cuz there might be more dmg. The second one, we got it second had at 100 000 km. I am not sure how exactly to describe the fault part, but the part number in the invoice is 4ke915253l (Control unit for battery junction box). The second major think they change alongside the control unit is with part number 93031900. Total repair cost 6k Euro at dealer. The only reasonable explanation we got is the problem was possibly due to high heat (that day was 35+ Dereece Celsius, and fast charging station problem) Both broke in the same month... Second one took a month to fix, first one about 1-2 weeks. p.s. the model is great in terms of looks inside and out, drives well, has the most amazing ride quality (I had every single allroad before that, and currently own 2016 one) but those repairs and faults are....hard to bear.

Driven normally 100 km highway drives and city drives ect. 3 months before warranty expires(about 2 months from now) some strange noise appears. Reasons: fault rear motor that somehow damaged the gearbox as well. Total repair cost if not under warranty - they quoted something about 15 to 20 k euro.... Seecond E-tron - Bought at about 100k km. In a sunny day (about 38 degrease Celsius) error msg pops up "electrical system fault". Repair invoice said those 2 part numbers were fucked, and changing them required some extra small parts (part. #93031900 and #4KE915253L). But, credit where credit is due - and, if you don't mind me saying, I think you were a tad 'harsh' on the Audi on the charging front - the way the battery accepts its max 150kWh charging speed all the way up to around 80% full before eventually decreasing is astonishing... It's the EV equivalent of an ICE car's "splash & dash" and I feel this kind of charging curve will absolutely be the 'goal' for all EV manufacturers as new models come on stream. So, thumbs up on the review... Thumbs up on Audi's battery charging technology... Only people who like vintage cars will love this thing. inefficent, ugliest infotainment ever. not worth a penny: my Audi E-tron has a faulty drive train (front engine) AND two damaged battery modules. components in total to be replaced around 5k but the total repair costs will be over 26k!!!!!! totally insane! 36 months old, below 56k miles. rubbish at all

I thought flares when out of fashion in the 70s... 🤣 This is an inefficient big barge, ugly looking, I hardly see how this is better than a normal SUV. With the amount of energy it will need and the size it takes up on the road...
