Looking at things from an stoic perspective, when a girl leaves you, she is not only renouncing to you but also to everything that represents you. She is saying no more to your company, your ideas, your aspirations. She is telling you I don't want to sleep with you neither be part of your social circle or family. Realistically, she does not see value in having a relationship any more. Base on that, why would you want to continue pursuing someone who thinks you no longer worth the effort?

One of the best things I can say about any relationship I have had since I was 20 and had my eyes opened for the first time, I have never taken an ex gf back. “Let’s take a break” no problem. I have had a couple I had as FWBs and only that after. Once the relationship ends or is on a break, I emotionally detach pretty quickly. Not taking back an ex should be a staple for any guy who is dating.

Sometimes there is a misunderstanding that causes a breakup. Other times people break up because they just want different things at the time.
