Good infor I was going to get 3lt for my 2022 model , now when I see your video it change my mind. Thank you

It tends to happen with leather not just the Corvette. Aston Martin's or even leather bags like Louis Vuitton get the same problem because of extended heat on the leather. Dash covers of course are a solution but you end up covering the nice leather. Best thing to do is to keep the leather treated and moist with leather conditioners to recondition the leather. A lot of people usually don't give it any mind but leather needs to be treated especially in the heat. Just a pain of having nice leather on the dash. My F150 has a leather dash and I noticed shrinking starting to occur. Treated it with some leather conditioning and it stopped. Once or twice a month for daily drivers I'd say. Of course plastic dash is way more convenient if you choose to go that route.

I did love the Napa dash, but I have now went to a 1lt GS and once it settled in it is something I don't notice anymore. And one less worry. Thanks for the recommendation!

Mine did the same thing. Dealer replaced the dash under warranty and less than 6 months later the new one is doing it again.
@tjhuntts36156 жыл бұрын
Its BS. And as soon as it starts it rapidly gets worse. Almost better to ask them to replace with the 2lt dash.
@Indefinitely_6 жыл бұрын
wakeyour neighbors I thought about that but then I read about someone who asked the dealer if they could do that and the dealer said no because it’s not accurate to the vin. I think he ultimately paid for the dash and they installed it free.

yeah. essentially I got half off of everything. but now moved on to a gs non 3lt package so no worries!

I own a '19 GS 3LT and mine has the upgraded Napa Leather and Microfiber Suede interior. I too had an issue with the "bubbling" of the dash, but it was still under warranty, so the dealership installed a whole new dash. If you usually keep it outside, I'd make use of a sunshade to protect it.

My 2016 stingray 3lt had same dash problem. Finally dash replaced. Within one week I traded car in for 2019 sl550. My friends at a corvette shop was aware of the dash issues of the 3lt. Did not hesitate replacing car with thought could happen again. I had car in New Jersey.

What model year is your 3LT? I wonder if this was fixed in subsequent model years. GM does an awful lot of climate testing in Yuma and elsewhere. I would have expected them to figure it out in a later model year.

This is what worries me 😭 I live in Texas and summers here we get hit with +100 degree temperatures. I have a 16 3lz z06. Whenever I leave my car out in the sun I ALWAYS use a sun visor. Even if its just for 5 minutes. I always park away from the sun so the sun is hitting the back of the car and not directly onto the dashboard. I use meguires leather cleaner and conditioner. And when my car is not in use, she is AWLAYS in the garage whether its summer or winter. My main issue was that I was getting rocks kicked back to the rear quarter panels thanks to the wide body. Now I have a sand blasted look up close. You can't tell from far away though. But its easier and cheaper to paint the quarters especially since you can use your car insurance, than to replace an entire dash which most likely won't be covered by car insurance and there goes over 3k outta pocket!

Thanks for this video. I was about to pull the trigger on a 3lt. I'm in San Diego. Do you know how widespread this is for if it's a one-off or less common?
@tjhuntts36155 жыл бұрын
Hello, It is very widespread. But also the very late 2018 models starting measuring out the glue they use, and stapling down the sides to help prevent it. So the probability does go down with those models. But honestly I now have a 1lt GS and love the dash. It is very easy to keep clean and doesn't worry me. I did love the 3lt seats with the alcantara inserts but overall the Napa wasn't worth it. ESP since, my doors even started coming off.
