Why you Should(nt) play Conduit Competitively

For edge she gives free shields eliminating down time for healing for more aggressive plays, it’s 1 of the reasons why she’s so good for contests. For zone, although the Temp shield goes away shortly after, the player can poke more freely to level up their Evo shield. On the flip side, when an enemy hits a player using conduit temp shield it levels up their Evo shield by 1 point. (Confirmed this in the FR) not to mention an area denial ult that can be hard to see during an endgame. To me what makes her viable are the trades she can provide in fights for both edge teams that fight, and zone teams that are passive she’s extremely versatile despite being support class

She's great, I've been enjoying playing her. One complaint I have with her Q while solo queueing in ranked is my teammates' instant reaction to pop a battery after being cracked. As opposed to healing up and waiting for the temporary shields to deplete. Teammates basically nullify her Q when doing that, even after verbalization they still do it. I think it will take time for players to know how to use their conduit teammates effectively.

I binged everything, make more! Great content. Next video idea: Differences between playing in a sweaty pubs lobby (very high mmr), masters/pred ranked lobby, scrims and algs. From what I have played or watched, those are 4 completely different games, even if you put the same people in them. People play with different mindsets and make different decisions, your take on it would be nice to watch! 😊

My very first game playing conduit i jumped straight into ranked and won the game. Since then ive been maining her. Shes extremely good when playing with friends that love to push enemies

yes I took about a 10 month break from Apex and returned this season but its clear all the changes that have been made were to make the game FASTER the rounds go quicker now ground loot feels way better that might be just placebo but it does feel better and we have changes this season like respawning with armor and weapons and conduit adding onto that it feels like the game is faster than ever you loot up get in as fight and conduit keeps you in the fight longer and has an amazing ultimate too i hope the lifeline rework does something similar because the game just feels so fresh and fun at the moment

I know this vid has 9 months but I saw that Mirage and Lifeline were used in Seer meta on pro play. Lifeline was used to counter Seer's revive interrupt mechanic and Mirage to counter his ult.

It's interesting, one of my favourite games of all time would be The Division. I would mostly run a healer build so when Conduit came in I was pretty excited to try her out. She's already become my new main. Obviously TD and Apex are different but the same principles apply to her kit as a healer build in Div, so I feel like I was able to get a lot out of her kit from day one. But when I've been watching streamers and pros play her or even "how to play Conduit" videos I rarely see her abilities used to their full extent and if they are it seems more like a happy accident with comments like "omg that was amazing". Point is, I strongly believe she has so much more potential than what people are getting out of her now and when the pros do get her timing and kit down properly she has the ability to be oppresive. Especially in aggressive play.

Extremely hard for me to figure out how she WON'T be instant meta. She's insanely good in an edge team for her movement as well as free shields. The delay from the time someone takes damage and the shield begins charging is insanely small, and the only way you don't get it off is if the target is instantly downed. The ult is probably the weakest part of her kit, which is hilarious because it's essentially a mega Watson fence for late game, which is great for final circles. Wtf is endgame going to look like when 5-8 squads make final circle and they all drop this ult? From watching people like ItsWatson, something high level players seem to be running into with her is not realizing they don't have to insta-bat once she uses tact on them. 30 seconds is a crazy long time to keep pressuring, especially since the shield comes up so damn fast

Will conduit be THE meta? Out of what i've seen, for a legend to be meta, they need to meet two criteria. 1. Have a strong kit overall and have said kit work in many situations 2. Be one of if not the strongest legend in a specific role so now since we have the criteria we can determine whether conduit will be THE meta. Conduit, doesn't have a strong overall kit, Well yes she has a very powerful tactical, one of the strongest in the support role, only being beaten out by gibby bubble and maybe loba Q, Her ultimate is very unique and something that wouldn't normally be for a support, her ult can block off areas and its range is great, just one problem, It doesn't last indefinitely unlike the tacticals of all the controller legends which for comp is under a support role but what makes up for the lack of indefinite hunkering is being able to be more aggressive than most if not all supports with the exception of loba, but the passive is the weakest part of her kit by far, i dare would say, one of the worst passives for a support (only in comp) and the reason why i say this is because you probably won't be more than 50 meters away from a teammate and out of tac range, even lifeline and mirage, dare i say rampart's passive is more useful, lifeline and mirage because you can rez easier and reset and rampart because it affects a whole weapon class that is mid and a minigun that shreds mid range. So No, conduit doesn't fit criteria one but her strong parts of her kit do work in a variety of situations. Will conduit be one of if not the most strongest legend in her role....probably, Well yes her tac and ult is strong, very strong but when it comes to pure support and anchoring, I'd say gibby, loba and the controller legends are better since they have more team-based utility but Conduit I believe will truly shine in a more Edge comp and may as well be the best Support for aggressive play-making, the only other legend that is in the same sub-role as conduit is mirage and we know how bad he is (I was a mirage main with 1k kills and heirloom and even I know how bad he is) so that only leaves conduit here, sure loba can create off-angles and has her ult that most likely has shields and stuff but conduit has a tac that grants essentially infinite shield with 1 second downtime although loba grants infinite ammo and any weapon in the area and gibby can create more area of denial with the ult but it has double the cooldown as conduit and cannot be used indoors unlike conduit, so will conduit shake up the meta and/or be THE meta? No, she might shake up the meta but won't be the meta but I could see conduit have play in a more aggressive comp but will be rivaled by loba.

split 1 probably only a few teams will use her, the ones who have players that are good at supporting their teammates, if those teams do good there is a possibility she becomes a character that more teams use in split 2, also we have to keep in mind any future nerfs or game changes. Conduit imo should be considered by teams at pois that have less loot or that have prio for zones meaning teams have to rotate quickly and might not have that many shields. A pair like wattson and conduit is great for farming shields, add an aggressive legend like bang or horizon and you can do a lot of damage and be flexible to play zone or edge.

I think her passive is definitely lacking.. Personally in my opinion it should be when you look at the direction of a teammate with their shields not full you get that speed boost.
