The problem is Firefly may just be the most popular character ever, so a lot of people are going to prioritize her over Ruan Mei. Often people say waifu over meta, but in this case, that's going to be a very common approach for this character especially. Personally, I think putting both Firefly and Ruan Mei together is kind of a slimy move. It would have been better if she was on Jade's side to give a few extra pulls to spare for Ruan Mei. This choice to put them together only truly is benefiting spenders who won't mind forking it out to get them both in one go.

I mean the people that actually saved for Firefly and Ruan Mei get to play them right away are doing great. People who didn't save were most likely not going to get Firefly and Ruan Mei as f2p if it was on the second half banner anyway you would need to save at least 3 patches of savings to comfortably do that. If you are new f2p there is enough jades to get both Firefly and Ruan Mei if you grind the content. Firefly doesn't have to have Ruan Mei either people just pushing that narrative themselves she can still clear content just as fast as other f2p non premium teams.

It looks like the first half will give 70 pulls and the second will give 20-30, that's if you are f2p. So, it is not a huge loss if you are f2p.

I love her, I don't have any AoE dps, I love her animations, she is my favourite character(i am a simp) alongside TB and I want her for the Yuri Ship, and I don't mind compromising for a while by using Asta. Secondly ruan mei can be put in like every team and she can be used in every endgame content while firefly reduces your playstyle and you can only use her in break teams. Both are goated choices and both will help your account.👍

I've never been happier for having pulled a character just because. I got Ruan Mei even though iI didn't particularly love her character just because everyone was saying she was broken and I saud "why not?". At the time I was relatively new to the game, at least in understanding of the warping percentages and meta. Honkai Star Rail is my first gacha and it was when I was starting looking things up. But now I can just go all out for Firefly :)

I’ll say this, lord knows when Ruan Mei will get another rerun, could be a year from now or longer due to more characters being added and reruns for 2.0 and beyond characters probably coming first. Firefly will have a rerun much sooner. So for anyone who is on a strict budget maybe this info helps…

I get your point, but it does vary a lot from account to account. I alredy got great 5* supports and I'm lacking in main DPS, Firyfly will bring much more value to my account. There's also high possibility we'll get more break supports in the near future. I'm sure Ruan Mei will still keep her place in the best team, but I do think she'll be less essential than she is right now. That said, I'm still gonna pull for them both, I'll take my guaranteed Firefly first and I hope I won't get unlucky on Ruan Mei.

Ruan Mei was my nr1 pull because she was increasing break efficiency back in 1.6 or whenever she got released. And that was and still is amazing. And my main reason for using her aside for massive buffs to the team. What MidFly has over Ruan Mei however is: Rainbow DPS She can break all enemy types as she implants her own Fire Weakness on the enemy, and she has also high break efficiency. And this is something that Ruan Mei doesn't offer, the only one that's close is Boothill but he is single target. And this make miss Firefly amazing.

Also Ruan Mei has Defense ignore on E1! Good even for F2P (although you probably want a break carry like Boothill or firefly before E1 but Xueyi and even Misha or Silver Wolf can work. It’s even better now considering new relic set also has defense ignore which is better the more of it you have!

Even though I'm not listening or will not follow any of your suggestion, but your vtuber model just so attractive that I open the clip for the full length =)) Firefly will be the must (not because of her, but because of Sam), Mei will be just a substitude, win 50/50 then good, else will jsut go with Asta. The game is so easy that for a f2p player from day 1 can just auto everything without too much of consideration.

Ruan Mei is the most flexible recent option you can put in multiple teams followed by Jade. Firefly, you either have the specific team for her and like the specific way of playing it or you don't get her. I have Ruan mei and she fits in multiple teams and Jade will do the same for me.

As much as I agree with everything that was said, I am sick of only having Welt as a non-situational DPS (I have Herta and Himeko built alright but those two are only built for PF), Qingque is going to be built later too but that's only later I'll try to get Ruan Mei too but the first prority for me is having a more enjoyable and consistent main DPS, even if I do miss her best support at first (Besides, I already have Robin and Bronya for "premium" supports)

Ruan mei Is still One of the most valuable pgs in the game without firefly, but FF falls off without RM. Also if you want both FF and RM, Remember that you have to win the 50/50s and probably firefly is gonna return sooner than a ruan mei's 2nd rerun (seele's rerun was in 1.4 and we still dont have her 2nd rerun). In my opinion i would say i would go firefly instead of ruan mei because if you choose ruan mei its good for universal but the problem is that you would not get that weakness implant from the enemy and ruan mei can't do that it will be challenging if there are some enemy that required weakness implant since HMC deals buff on your team and providing super break it would better if you have ff,gallegher,sw or pela then hmc but ruan mei is indeed needed

For a completely new player who started the game one week ago, do you still recommend Ruan Mei? To clear all content, you ideally need one team per element. However, in the early game, you only have 1 or 2 team, and Firefly has the ability to infuse her element... I think this is significant because if Firefly is your first team, you can do everything with her (until you have one team per element). Currently, I have two teams (and I'm a bit stuck sometimes): Team 1: Qingque + Tingyun + Bronya + Lynx Team 2 : Himeko + MC Harmony + Pela + Gallagher If I pull Ruan Mei, that will boost my Himeko team: Team 2 : Himeko + MC Harmony + Ruan Mei + Gallagher But I'll still encounter issues with other elements (ice, imaginary, physical, lightning). On the other hand, if I choose Firefly, I can deal with all elements because she infuses her elements into enemies. I'm a new player so maybe i'm missing something.... What's ur thoughts on this ?

Same imma just skip Ruan Mei I cant do MOC without a second premium dps. Ive already gotten the other supports and also have E2 Bronya I also got Aventurine and FuXuan so I think its time to go for a dps now I have Acheron and thats my only 5* dps. Cant do MOC with just supports sustains and no dps.

I got e0s1 Ruan Mei during 1.6 but it was painful as i lost 75 25 on Lightcone but now its paying off as i can ignore her and go straight for my girl FyFy

as much as this whole point of "Pull Ruan Mei first" is valid, I cannot risk loosing the 50/50 and going to soft pity for Ruan Mei and then not have Firefly on my account I will be pulling for Firefly first, and hope I win the 50/50, thats the only 50/50 I need to worry about as for Ruan Mei, I can lose the 50/50 and while the banner is still up focus all my jades into her banner both of them are my priority this patch but Firefly is a bigger priority than Ruan Mei for me

I would legit pull rein Mei.. but her design IMO really sucks, she gives me welt NPC vibes and I know that doesn't mean a lot in the meta but if I'm spending mooolla then ima get a hot Waifu for sure 💯

Ruan mei would be the better choice but I’m a new player with only one guarantee 5 star and there will most likely not be another insane break dps for a while at least let alone a free one plus Sam looks too cool to pass up
