I've only read the first chapter, and it's dense as hell. This podcast is a lifesaver, alongside Bob Murphy's guide to ME&S. I may be an IT major as opposed to econ, but I still find it important to read this b4 you take any "econ" courses in college.

I’m reading it as a paramedic. And this book is better than any Econ/philosophy/humanities course I ever took.

Well done, gentlemen! My dad bought "H.A." and "M, E, and S" when they were released, and he annotated them for us kids, leaving us a great legacy of his own thoughts beside Mises' and Rothbard's work. I can't wait to pick up the Scholars Editions (and Bob Murphy's study guide to "H.A."! All the best, from NH!

Reading it right now, I’m an economics major at UMKC. It’s a tough read for sure.

Yeah, but it's also flawed in places. Like on monetary theory.

Tough read, and well worth it. Wish I had found Rothbard when I was a ugrad. Good luck with your studies!

I binged all the mises books podcasts (that we’re out as of this time last year) while driving on vacation, and when I got home from vacation began working through mises books in order. Finishing bureaucracy now, can’t wait for human action. Thank you very much for these. Started me down a rabbit hole I never saw coming.

Do you think reading this is enough to get the main ideas of the book, it's a study guide www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=mises-media.s3.amazonaws.com/Study%2520Guide%2520of%2520Man%252C%2520Economy%252C%2520and%2520State_2.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwisuqqanabtAhVAREEAHUfKCH8QFjAEegQIBhAB&usg=AOvVaw1fe12DSokX-c0PWuio2VCN

Im actually on page 500 of man economy and state right now, and there is no way that the 250 page study guide does justice to this beast (as a replacement). This book is well worth devoting the time to if your interested in the subject. This book is similar to human action, just as deep, yet seems a bit easier to read and understand. No way you should skip this book for the bob murphy study guide. I’m reading it solely out of interest though, I’m not an economics student or anything.

Anyone know other rothbardian channel in KZbin?
@kgsgames35144 жыл бұрын
Well, if you speak portuguese, you can try the Instituto Rothbard here in KZbin. It's run by Chiocca's brothers, and Cristiano Chiocca was invited to pfs to a lecture about brazilian history. If you wanna understand my country, that lecture is a must see. And that one is in english so no language barrier problems.

The remarks about the typewriter are just nonsense revisionism. Using a typewriter was not some sort of burden of inertia. A word processor won't make your prose any better than if you use a typewriter. You're going to have a good prose for the following reasons: you're a good writer, your ideas are well thought out and your ability to communicate your ideas is well developed. Your editing needs to be strong too but you'll *print* large sections of your work that need editing, *that's no different than having a typewritten page in front of you* , they are both physical pages. No one takes a red marker to their computer monitor nor would anyone with sense want to edit in such a way.

If you aren't using track changes and real time collaborative editing that comes with modern applications, you're not leveraging the technology to its full potential. I don't do a lot of editing/writing, but I had to edit a 100ish page document a couple months ago with a coworker, remotely, and we used track changes for the whole thing. No printing. That would have hindered our progress.
