To add to my previous comment I'd like to Quote Sylvia from one of her Journals; ''I turned to Ted, who is as close and warm and dear as can be, closer, warmer, dearer than i ever was to myself - one who sees me sick, ugly, sallow, sneezy and hugs me, holds me, cooks me a veal chop and brings bowls of iced-pineapple, steaming coffee at breakfast, tea at teatime. I feel, miraculously, I have the impossible, the wonderful - I am perfectly at one with Ted, body and soul, as the ridiculous song says - our vocation is writing, our love is each other.'' -April 6, 1958

I love love love her.... Her writings ... One of my friends introduced her to me... It has been six years since I've been hooked to her... She felt so relatable to me....I often go back to her when I feel low......

My entire "rizz" in my teenage years was thanks to Sylvia. I had crazy pull over the Kolkata girls coz I read her work😂 Years later I revisited her work and now it has an entirely different meaning in my late 20s. Now I don't voluntarily let anyone know that I am familiar with her work. She now belongs to a part of my life that I don't share with the world that often.

If he heavily edited the books, there must also have been some sort of bias, perspective, or ideas that were fed into them, no?

The way you articulate your thoughts is so profound and beautiful . I have always been fascinated by sylvia plath . I’ve read and spent endless time with so many of her quotes but i’ve never read any of her works because something always held me back . But you have, in a way ,put me at ease , so I’ll definitely read her books now . What you said about how people put you in a box if you express your admiration for sylvia plath, is so true. So thank you ♥️

I have been reading books for almost a year now.I always wanted to read something very relatable...about the matters that even if how hard I try cannot put to words and share even with my closest humans...but one quote u shared felt so relatable and personal. Definitely going to get my hands on this one. Thankuu so much for such an amazing and persuasive explanation !!!

Contrary to popular belief, your perception of Sylvia and Ted and what they shared changes when you actually read her journals. You see how Sylvia loved, admired and worshipped her husband. How much Ted supported her through all of her perils in being a struggling writer and human in general. Until ofcourse he fucked it up towards the end of their years together. Just wanted to put it out there, as it really bugs me how people boil down their relationship to this regressive, toxic marriage. That's not all there was to them. They had their share of beautiful moments. They were humans, imperfect and making mistakes, loving and writing.

want to read it just so that I feel the teenage angst that (I think) I never felt.

I’m currently reading this. Taking it slow as a bed time read, few entries of her journal at a time and I love how honest and powerful her writing feels. And I wonder, how much it would have changed, her unfiltered writing I mean, had she known that the world would one day read in leisure her own personal journal. Candid and lovely video as usual 👏👏
