Eh he’s right thick socks will fill your toe box up but a good fitting boot will definitely make the most difference but the socks in the video seem to be ideal tbh wool socks will help with blistering and something with the padding while also not being too thick seems ideal

I wear a pair of boots everyday, Redwings or Carolinas and for the longest time I thought I needed to wear thick socks with them. About 5 years ago I bought a pair of the ridiculously priced $25 merino wool socks they sell at the Redwing store and haven’t looked back. They’re not as thick as most socks marketed toward work boot wearers. I found that with the thicker socks they tend to slide around more and irritate my toes for whatever reason, and the lighter merino wool socks do a better job at regulating temperature so they keep my feet warm when it’s real cold and when it’s hot they tend to keep my feet from sweating as much. They’re also excellent at repelling moisture so if your feet do tend to sweat a lot they’re a good choice. Not recommending any particular brand nor am I a shill like 90+% of KZbinrs but they’re definitely worth trying.

Now this is a good topic to cover, I just got my first pair of captains from Thursday last week, and wore them all day for the first time at church, and I normally wear these cotton polyester socks that are fairly thin, just a basic sneaker sock and the boot was pretty okay. But I'll try some of these socks 👍🏼

Heavyweight wool sock sure however lightwight merino wool socks are great during the summer. The wool wicks away the sweat keeping your feet dry and cool even in 97°F+ weather. I work in a werehouse with no air-conditioning all summer long and I wear only merino wool socks. My feet are anything but hot and sweaty.

Not the point. Good socks prevent your feet from getting too hot or cold. Also, some socks are able to wick moisture preventing a sweaty smell. Cushioning, even in good quality boots, still isn’t always up to bar. They’re boots at the end of the day- if you can find a “good” pair that feel like On’s or Hokas then please share with us, but until then, a decent cushioned sock is where you’re going to get the majority of your comfort from in ANY boot. I paid out a little bit of money for the “fancy” socks I have on now and they have performed excellent in the field, constantly getting wet and facing other earthly conditions. They still haven’t thinned out in the toe or ripped at the seams and I’ve cycled the same 6 pairs for almost 4 years now.

Smart wool are my favorites along with darn tough Vermont and both are a midweight. My danner’s are a little big so I wear thicker an athletic sock underneath a midweight wool aock

It all depends on the boots, the socks, the season, and what you're doing in them. I generally wear thick merino socks (e.g., Darn Touch and Camel City Mill) with my work boots and books with a plenty of room in the toe, and midweight wool socks with my casual/office boots. Good merino socks are worth their weight in gold keeping your feel dry and temperate. Conversely, those thick cotton-blend socks suck and I avoid them like the plague. Cheers.

I wear leather boots all summer long and I wear darn tough socks as thick as I can find them. Usually two days in a row then change them. Thick socks give you cushion and keep your feet regulated temperature wise. This guy has zero experience on how to wear boots that actually work lol.

I wear toe spreaders thick socks and steel boots. Without the spreaders I would have pancake foot. Everybody should try spreaders if you have stiff legs ankles feet they help increase blood flow and relieve stress

Thick socks are amazing if dumb people buy Winter boots 1-2 full sizes bigger. Winter boots need to be roomy... regardless of what sock.....Thick socks rock 🎉
