With single KB work you can rely on a deep hinge and rely on your posterior chain.
With double KB work, you need a wider base of support, which means you need to stay more upright.
And that means you need more of your quads (the muscles on the front of your legs) to lift the load.
So they need to be stronger.
That’s why we use the Double Kettlebell Front Squat.

Osteoarthritis in my knees makes me hate DFSQs (well maybe I should say strong aversion rather than hate, but you get the idea). Maybe I should do my squats first and use C&P as a reward for powering through....

@ralphnevill6171 - That's certainly a limitation. I'd make sure your core stability, hip and ankle mobility are on point first to reduce the pain of the OA in your knees.

@@GeoffNeupert - well, I know I would watch the videos if you provided links to follow. But there are none and I have to go back to work...can't/won't waste time looking for something that the internet provides the tools to make readily accessible if you'd implement them.
