With Irish myths about fairys and changlings you could make one. Here is one a mom notice her son is acting different less emotional, she learns that he was replaced by a changeling then will kill the kid but we don't know if she is crazy or right you could have the kid do magic only in front of the mom and have some things unexplained like bad luck etc so the audaince can view both answers as right
@daraghokane42363 жыл бұрын
This is like a bunch of other films I saw babadook etc. So no points for originality would be easy to act and cheap, kid be emo don't show much emotion no need for effects. Also with the Catholic church that is material for a hooror the stuff they do in Ireland

While I do love this films original monster, I must ask, why hasn't Ireland made more monster movies? Irish folklore and myth has so many notable beastlies that would be terrifying to watch. Formorians, Aos Si, Dullahan, even the irish Herakles Cu Culhainn isnt kind of a monster, with his ability esentially turning him insde out and making him a beast. Theres a lot of potential here.

This is a fine watch once, or twice movie, but my issue with it is that as a horror comedy it never gets really horrific, and it never reaches great comedic heights. So it never really succeeds at either. I never feel scared, or tense, watching it, but I also never laugh out loud. But it is a charming movie with kind of convincing(but obvious) CGI I just finished watching it for the third time, first time since it came out years ago. Just been going through movies on my shelf trying to decide if things were as good as I remember, or as bad as I remember, in a effort to decide what movies to keep. After a third watch I don't think I'd ever watch it again.

God this sounds brilliant, I'll have to check it out at some point, I don't think I've ever seen an Irish horror film other than a few films at the cork film festival.

OK, I didn’t think I had seen this until you started reviewing it, I watched this a few years back, I remember enjoying it

Haha, it somehow NEVER occurred to me how different you and Jerrica's accents are until you said Diamanda Hagan.

Dude, it's like the cornetto trilogy all wrapped into one movie, it's about two police officers, one's uptight and from out of town, one's layback and local working together (Hot Fuzz), trying to survive an alien invasion (World's End) by staying in a pub while consuming alcohol (Shaun of the Dead)

Love to see you shouting out Diamanda Hagan. Been watching her videos on the terror. Think you'd ever do a video on it?

I *Love* the 1988 Slugs film in all its icky weirdness, and I love Grabbers, so thank you so much form mentioning them both in the same video!

I would like to see you review "Sputnik" & "The Dark and the Wicked". Not Irish (sorry) but still would like it.

I kind a love that this is the only mainstream Irish monster movie in existence because it’s the perfect Irish monster movie.
