just moved out for the first time, to an entirely new state and city, and a primary theme in my life right now is learning to not tame myself and to be in all my fullness unabashedly. i think this whole concept can connect strongly to inner child healing - reclaiming the most natural innate traits we learned to tamper down to fit in or survive under trauma. reclaiming the traits that are loud, passionate, unusual, free of shame and convention. it’s such a hard learning curve though! i love your channel, thank you for what you do!

@@charliestoolbox We just have to keep CHOOSING our light before we become conditioned to keep it hidden. This oftens means living solo until God appoints purpose partners and lifetime inner circles!

Thank you for this. I do this a lot but for me it is from growing up in a narcissistic home. I'm unlearning this habit

I get this because I grew up in one too. One of the reasons why I made this episode is because of me and what I had to learn to do over time. Hopefully, you can get this lesson earlier than me!

Can you give some examples of what it looks like dimming your light for friends? I don't think I've experienced this in a friendship or maybe I have I just don;t have an example of what that looks like. Is it as simple as a friend asking you, "hey can you stop being so loud?" or is it more covert than that? Lovely video always Charlie!

Great question! It looks like going out with friends and your girl tries to tell you not to dress, look, or do certain things. It looks like changing who you are to fit into the group. Or not being yourself for fear of your friend being insecure about it.

I'm happy for you! It's jarring to realize that people don't have the same values as you.
