@@wenbb2009 Yeah, you definitely need to do your thorough research on any breed dog you own before getting them. Our new dog is part purebred Husky, and part purebred Treeing Walker Coonhound. The litter was from an accidental love connection, but man, those dogs are absolutely gorgeous. We ended up with one of the best dogs from the litter. She's highly food motivated and not difficult to train. I just need to find more time to train, but with work and being a dad and all the activities we have, I cannot train as often as I'd like. However, I have the Puppy essentials, The Perfect Walk and I'm about 60% through the Unleashed e-collar course and I still have amazing results for the amount of time I've been able to dedicate in training. His paid content is solid gold! You can get The Perfect Walk as part of the $19.99/mth membership, along with member access to forums and the private FB group, discounts on other courses that can stack with other active discounts, and access to the weekly live training and Q&A sessions with Garret, and all the previous live sessions. Even if you only sign up for 2-3 months, the wealth of information at your fingertips is well worth it. Every time I take my dog on walks or to Lowe's, I get positive questions and comments on how well behaved and well trained my dog is. It's best to do these things while the dog is hungry and motivated to earn food rewards. Garret's methods work great, and if you have any questions that you need where you may not understand something or need more info, the Q&A sessions are the place to go, or post the questions in the forums for Garret or a very small group of professional trainers working under Garret can answer. He doesn't give tiny answers to questions. For example, in the live session last night someone asked how to fix a dog that would come running back great on a recall, but the dog would shoot past them and then have to come back versus stopping and coming around to the heel position. As with almost every question, Garret spends 5-10 minutes giving thorough answers. I asked Garret last night about two new courses that are going to be released soon which are the Food Luring course and Leash Pressure course, and for some examples of what content will be in these courses. It was a 10+ minute answer. Garret's nothing if not thorough in his responses. There's a section in each part of the training courses that ONLY Garret replies to, and again, he gives very thorough answers to make sure he covers as many angles to the question as possible, answering that question, and any questions he can think his answer may bring up. He obviously LOVES what he does and is committed to helping.

@@nxthqn1161 Np. A lot of people come to these sites because they want to learn more about how to train their dogs themselves. I have all the paid courses and they are so in depth that I'm going to use them for training my dogs, then bringing home dogs from shelters for a week or two to give them some basic training so they will be more desirable for adoption. You see, with the knowledge gained from Garret's training, I plan on becoming a certified professional balanced dog trainer because the content is that good. part of that is you need 300 hours of dog training before you can be certified, so I figured training rescues is a great way for me to practice and give dogs a better chance at adoption, and give owners a better dog. If you want the in depth knowledge, it's available. If you want snippets of Garret's knowledge, you can piece together what you can from his channel and others. I was on a tight budget and I probably would have learned all I could on KZbin, but I was lucky enough to find this channel and post a lot of comments that caught Garret's staff's attention and they asked me to be a moderator, so that's how I got my foot in the door with Garret and his style of training and decades of experience. I wish you the best of luck, whichever path you decide to take.

I had 2 male steril cane corsos at one time and let me tell you the only way we could separate them when the more dominant one was being a jerk was to dump 4gallons of water over their heads. Made a mess everywhere but it was the best way. They are great dogs but can be a hand full at times. Have had the pleasure of owning 4 of these beautiful dogs. Had all great experiences minus the few fights now and again.

My mother in law has 2 large dogs (obese) and they've dragged her off her porch and she broke her shoulder and now has metal in there holding it together. Are her dogs now trained? Nope! You would think she'd train them. She obviously cannot handle them. They sit around all day inside with no exercise mental or physical. It's a very sad existence for them. So whenever my mother in law tells me one of her dogs has a strange health issue I just inwardly roll my eyes....I've detached from that situation because it breaks my heart.

I have friends with dogs that offered to take my CC when I’m away. Besides the fact that he may rag doll small & medium size dogs if they get in his face or bark at him, I know he can immediately tell he doesn’t need to listen to them and will run the show while he’s with them. I don’t know how he knows so quickly, but he knows.

We have 2 Cane Corsos and we love them. When scolded, they get their hearts broken and you can see it all over their faces, because they want nothing more than to please. My first CC was the BEST dog we have ever had; smart, loving, fun, energetic, predictable, and AMAZING with children. You forgot to include what a wonderful family member they are and how loyal they are. So many great things about a Corso were overlooked in your discussion. Worried about someone coming into your home when you are asleep, not with a CC. You hear about children being snatched from the yard, not with a CC around. They are a guardian breed, just like GSDs and others. Love your videos, but this one was negatively biased against the CC, IMHO.

The video is literally on why NOT to get a Corso not good vs bad 🤦 besides any dog can be trained in protection work, my doodle is a better protection dog than my Boerbol, yeah Boerbol is more intimidating and stronger, but my doodle is 60 lbs of "f#k you up" if you don't mean well. People should not base their dogs on size or looks, they should base them on experience and needs that's the whole issue with dog owners today, majority can't handle a friggin pitbull much less a mastiff.

Good man!! I posted something almost verbatim on a group on fb ! Most people shouldn’t have a dog full stop but large guarding breeds are another story all together! Also add in vet visits and bills because the heavier the dog the more expensive the meds are!! Are you responsible enough? Do you have the hours to put in training and giving this kind of dog the stimulation and life it deserves? Do you have the money for all the hidden costs and food/vet bills? Or do you want one because you watched John wick and game of thrones and thought I want one of those!! ?? 😒

I know you've done Pit's and Pit mixes, but any chance, you've even done one in the past, and what is your take on that specific breed(even though they're more of a hybrid of a few different dogs, bred to make certain breedable bloodlines). Possibly could you do a video on them as well? Also, I have one and he's 7th gen pedigree, amazing dog. Got a friend that wants one of these dogs. Simply because of their looks (semi assume this and told because they are just so cool). Also was told because they want the cane corso to be a therapy dog in a childerns hospital....dunno about you but if I was a young sick child and so this breed coming toward me.... I would scream and run away. They have 2 kids. One is a heart patient 8year old. Both parents are extremely busy. They already have a dog from a shelter (untrained in obedience and does not go for walks nor gets socialized). The family is also very loud and I don't be this in a good way.... I have tried to reason with the family on it but have been told "I don't know anything I'm talking about" I have been a large breed dog owner for 12+ years to a very smart, loyal and obedient husky (she isn't like most) How would you go about talking with this family?

You basically have a toddler that is walking around with a firearm. That’s a cane Corso. 700 pound PSI is what many have deemed as their bite force. So breaking up a dog fight will actually be fairly easy. This dog is like Ivan drago from Rocky 4 Whatever he bites….. he destroys. It’s not a pet. And it’s reckless and irresponsible for the majority of owners to even consider having one.

What about socialization from a young age, doesn't that help with the territorial along with training and an alpha type owner? I mean I know they are a protection breed, but playing devil's advocate, in the right hands with the right training and socialization the dog should look for your leadership and be fine with someone entering your home if you make it clear that it's ok. That's assuming you purchase a dog from a breeder known to produce good temperaments. My husband and I currently have an older very dominant large female dog. This won't deter us from a Corso for our next dog, we are prepared to put the work in.❤

Health issues thing is a myth, people just say that because responsible breeders will tell you what diseases are possible, that being said they test and breed dogs that DONT have aforementioned issues to get healthier dogs, backyard breeders will still breed those diseases tho. Mutts seem healthier cause no one is going to research what diseases or issues are common in a friggin shepskydoodle doesn't mean the dog doesn't inherit glaucoma or hip dysplasia you just aren't aware of it🙄. Plus a lot of people don't want to bring home a shelter dog with a ton of behavioral issues when they have small children or animals around. The money saving is subjective to the dog based on health diet and training.

@@jessicagislason4855 Hybrid vigor is well-studied and not a myth. Of course that doesn't mean every purebred dog is unhealthy. Some breeds are unhealthier than others, even from good breeders. Depends on the breed.
