I've been traveling in my Model 3 for two months and plan on doing it for most of the next year. I still have a house in Minnesota to go back to so I don't say that I live in my car but I'm traveling and camping out of it. You mentioned that it takes longer for you to do laundry than if you lived in a house and it's a pain. For me, it's easier the way that I do it. I never have to deal with dirty clothes taking up space and smelling up the car. I just wash my previous day's clothes by hand when I shower at Planet Fitness everyday and they dry in about a day hanging up on a line in the trunk. They end up looking better than they would if I'd used machines. It just adds a few minutes to each shower and is so much more convenient than having to go to a laundromat. I just wash them with my shampoo. On the days that I want to wear nicer clothes and want to be extra careful about wrinkles, I use a steamer that I keep in the frunk with my clean clothes. I have a 1000 watt power inverter in there that's connected directly to the 12 volt battery. You can't use a power inverter that powerful if it's connected to a 12 volt outlet in the car. That's enough to power the steamer as long as you're not also using something else at the same time. I usually have a Verizon Home Internet box connected to that inverter so I have to disconnect it to use the steamer. I hang the clothes from the opened frunk door.

Amazing video! This is the attitude that is required to live in a car. I'm 18 yrs old and bought a used car a year ago but for the past 2 months i've really been exploring the option to live in it full time instead of locking myself to a rent or a mortgage. I've invested in a few things like a power station, window covers and roof cargo box, took out all the passenger seats and been sleeping in the car for the past 3 weeks and it's lowkey been fun. It's exciting to face the challenges and I think this might be something I'll do for the long term even though my parents don't exactly support it. By going from my parents place to a car means I might never have to pay rent and save hundereds of thousands of dollars over the years while still learning to be independent :)

When I lived in my car I appreciated how much more difficult simple tasks like laundry became because it created more mindfulness. Living in a home I find myself starting the laundry, going to clean the kitchen, jumping to picking up the toys, jumping back to the laundry, moving on to another task… it’s just go go go. When something becomes more difficult, like doing laundry dry at the laundromat, it became more intentional and forced me to slow down. All I had to do at that specific time was take care of my laundry. I didn’t have to worry about squeezing in 18 more tasks at the same time. Personally, I really miss that! Idk if that makes sense, maybe I’m just weird 😂

Traveling wasn't my first priority. My kids are my priority. I lived in my car for more than a year. I book hotels on my days off. Work my ass off working 72 hours per week. Paid off my school loans, personal loans, etc. I was able to save and put it in a stock market. It sucks, I lost 2k in my stocks lol because of our current economy. But I was able to save up on the side. I fixed my bald head with scalp micropigmentation. I just got my blepharoplasty 4 days ago. My invisiline will be arriving sometime this week, and maybe get veeners or crowns for my teeth. 😂 my main goal was to save up to buy my first home so I could start a new life with my kids. I dont know why I did the cosmetic stuff, I guess I want to feel great and that my status is life needs an upgrade. I was thinking of doing a KZbin channel like how I was able to be able do things like picking up kids from school and dropping them off to the baby mama. Dont ever get married Nico, stay vigilant.

I dunno, like, daily life as a 29 year old, SUCKS!!??? Right??? I worked at Tesla making like lots of money, right? I travel, but everything is struggling, making food, doing laundry, shower, toilet, right? And even though I live in really cool climate controlled Tesla with a computer that tells me where and when to recharge, something for FREE, this car living in nice weather is difficult. But now I have motivation talk???? Depressed story starts every episode. Move FOREWORD! Show us nice places, tell us where you charge for free, how much you spend at each charger, how much $$$ do you spend charging daily/weekly. What have bought, not needed? What do you wished you had bought?

@@NicoMurillo NO hate, I think you can do better! Anyone knows that living in most any vehicle is a complete change from standard "sticks and bricks" lifestyle. Explaining is not required. Keep intro short and sweet. "I spent 5 years working hard at Tesla, was laid off, sold my house, have decided to turn this life changing event into an opportunity to leave the standard work style, to travel, become self directed, and self employed, discover more of myself. I trust that you will find it enjoyable to watch my life expanding experiences." Continue to show how/why Tesla vehicle might be a good choice. Have you found advantages vs a gas car? What activities are you doing while charging the Tesla? Are you collecting stickers from each place, national park, do you post them inside the frunk? All of these people you quote. Who are they, provide some background? Instead of multiple quotes from multiple people, pick one quote, and elaborate/expand what/why it is important for you. Most people enjoy learning something new. Tell us about the hikes, how long, what did you see, who did you meet? When you jumped into the cold lake, THAT was excellent. Tell us about the best part of each day, a moment of gratitude and why. Good ice cream, nice section of driving, seeing a new creature, trying new food/recipe, museum visit, a compelling moment that maintains your enthusiasm for the traveling.

I used to work for the phone company. I had no issues going to the bathroom. Even in the middle of the city. I open both of the front and rear doors. I get myself between the doors and pretend I'm on my laptop working on something. I can do either #1 or #2. When I leave, I leave a nice surprise for the City sanitation workers 😂

Yes everyone dies but not everyone lives. And also when we do die we will rise to either eternal life or eternal death. We get to live once but can die twice.

People like this guy trying to glamorize car living aka homelessness is incredibly disingenuous. No one in their right mind wants to live in a car or on the street.

Nico's parents here...Nico is financially independent + 100% debt free + TIME rich...what would that equal to you? Furthermore we believe you are referring to people who live in their car or out on the street who have no money...debt ridden...& dysfunctional...of course nobody in their right mind would want to live in a car or the street under those conditions 🙄...Nico has the finances, the time & the freedom to do whatever he wishes...wolves survive...sheep get slaughtered...which one are you?

At least you’re not talking about financial independence as you make horrible financial decisions. Look to the future brother, we’re on the front side of a massive recession and when you start looking for work there may not be any.

Nico's parents here...the median net worth in 2024 for US households is $193k...the median net worth for a 30 year old in the US is $35k...currently Nico @ 29 has surpassed both these metrics...in addition he lives a bare bones, minimalistic, debt free, prepper existence by choice...therefore Nico will be more than capable to weather the financial storm...in as much as a recession goes...it will be the consumerist, debt ridden, no savings or investment...citizens of this country who will feel the most pain...which side are you on?

@@1969murillo Tell me, is paying $30,000 on a depreciating asset a good financial decision? Is quitting a job and going traveling a good financial decision? Your son can do whatever he wants it’s a free Country, but when you’re telling people how to become financially independent while making horrible financial decisions you’re opening yourself to criticism.

@@noel5437paying off your car loan sooner rather than later saves you time & money...your financial freedom number is obviously much more than Nico...he has moved on to the next phase in life @ 30 rather than 62 - 70 or never for some...your personal framework for finacial success is probably based on a much higher lifestyle...Nico does NOT need the trappings of the masses...simple, thoughtful, adequate lifestyle...is all he wants life...if more people were to have a similar mentality...average car loans in America would not be approaching $1k per month...think of the citizens of Scandinavian countries...there is a reason why they are considered the most happiest people on earth

I’m going to Denver Colorado for the first time next week to hike the Rockies. These views are amazing and you’re so lucky to travel to these places for the time being. I know it’s a double edge sword, but this is a great reminder that there’s more to life than work and that we can take breaks in advanced or unplanned and still make the most of it. 🏔️
