Peace brethren 🙏🏾 Truly I started because I wanted something different and wanted them because they look cool . As I journey, I begin to love them even more because they just fit me . My roots are bushy and been staying away from retwist for healthier hair , but also ... not being superficial and starting to really hate retwist even more . My ex told my daughter, “ Your dad look like he gave up on life 😂😂😂 The perception of people brother.. smh All because their not manicured 😂 Anyway , I’m almost 18 months in and seriously thinking at year 2 , to just stop retwist all together and let them go 🙏🏾

I could not agree more. I've wanted locs for a decade until I finally did them myself last December. I wanted locs honestly because of the aesthetic and they fit my lifestyle. Period. I've had it all from relax, texlax, braids/twists, wigs/weaves, bald, loose natural and now my locs (well, technically they're still twists). Don't get me wrong, my hair is definitely a part of my journey, but it's like an add-on/bonus. I'd be just as "spiritual" with/out my locs. And if I wake up tomorrow and decide to comb them out or cut them off, I will.

I started out growing my hair really long as a kid and I saw that when I got into the tail end of my teens that I had begun to allow outside influences (coaches, teachers, and my peers) to persuade me things that came naturally to me. Growing your hair long whether it be free-forming or just a big afro isn't easy. Don't count the days just count the moments of self-realization.

Wow, I actually needed to hear this. Sadly I’ve been contemplating cutting my locs off for a while, and one of the reasons I haven’t already is because I felt I’d be disconnected with my spiritual journey. But I just have to remember that I’m the one going on the journey not my hair. I probably won’t cut them off anytime soon tho but I’ll learn not to attach the two. Thanks for the video !

I think of it this way. It's not like you came out of the womb with locs. You are one, just as you are, whether you have locs or you don't. You don't need locs to be spiritual. I am very well clairvoyant and clairsentient, but they aren't because of locs. As a matter of fact, I don't even have locs yet; I want to get them for my birthday. I didn't understand the origin, so a family member told me before I get these locs look at what's behind that and where it came from, and so I did, and I'm still learning. I still want to get the locs. It represents our people, it represents being a warrior, it represents the power we hold...but if I cut them off one day after possibly getting tired of it, or whatever the case, it won't do anything to me or my spiritual journey. We are ALL already spiritual ourselves. We just all have different times and ways of tapping into that. If we needed these things to do so, we would have came here with them, so think about that. We didn't come to this earth with locs. So getting rid of them won't make me any less of a person. I am one, just as I am. Those are just a privilege and bonus.

many who don't have culture state lots not spiritual when in fact it is in any ancient culture as our antennas that keep us connected with nature an the cosmos.as our ancestors known the science behind they locs as like ah tree root once they grow never cut as ah tree roots then it will cause the tree it self to stunt its growth an loose memory just like hair when you cut it.our hair holds memory an information as scientist know it today an can tell mysterious tings about ah person thru they hair.in any spirit practice all it takes is ah person hair to do sum spiritual works as any other element of life.thats the main reason slave owners wanted africans to cut they hairs so they loose they strength spiritual powers an gifts as samsun of the ancient scripts an Iset of ancient kemet.

Locks are not a fad or just a spiritual thing it’s different for other people for some it’s “their identity”... my locks are are natural self... I didn’t go “natural”... I am natural we just have to be our natural self... is that “spiritual” maybe ... maybe it’s a spiritual journey for some... or they need to rebel.. but your locks should be your hair it’s your crown. I think people who are struggling with freeforming just don’t be a freeformer.. lol it shouldn’t be a struggle. Or have to hide behind a spiritualist thought process.
@vuks-fj7fl3 жыл бұрын
I think the word freeform speaks for itself almost. FREEform as in u most not attach it to any ideology. If u allow your hair to be free then that is the most spiritual thing u can do with it rather than doing it because you believe it will make u more spiritual.

Great video! I agree, people should be careful putting their hair before their belief. We're suppose to be led by the spirit that created the world and nature, not our hair. As you said, hair style is a decision we decide to make as a part of what we are tying to express.

Most of the most powerful beings did have long hair like Jesus, but I am not tieing it in with my spiritual growth. For me having long her is healthy, locks look s soooo fucking cool... Samsons STRENGTH (given to him by Yah which makes it spiritual) went from him when his Locs were cut off... Judges 16:19.
