I started training calisthenics with rings 2 weeks ago with one of your begginer workouts and I already see my body changing my shoulders got wider and I got a bit more of a V shape because my lats started to grow! I‘m really thankful that I saw your videos!

Great video! I think ultimately it's pretty simple, just basic compound exercises, perfect form, and lots of reps! One thing that also helped me is to set concrete goals/milestones and beat them to ensure you are getting stronger over time, because I found that if you just do exercises randomly you just plateau.

Nice Vid Tao, love the background music too. I think Cali for upper body and weights for lower body is a sick combo! Since bodyweight movements aren’t as taxing on the body (body rows can bent over rows) you can put more effort towards squat and deadlift variations.

In my experience most people have shit form and mind-muscle connection, not to mention that they leave too many reps in the tank to avoid discomfort.

I find that mind muscle connection for me comes from experience and doing slow reps.

Не зацикливаться на элементах, делать базу, прогрессия нагрузки через усложнение упражнения или добавление веса, увеличение количества повторений и интенсивность, тренировать ноги отдельно с весом, правильно питаться

So my PPL routine, I split 3 days a week, 5 sets. The last 2 sets I go until failure. My legs is done mostly with weights except Nordic Curls. I deadlift too. So I’m about 70% Calisthenics, and 30% weights. I can’t do handstand pushups so I just do military press. I’m a big guy so I gained a lot of strength and muscle using my own body weight. I wanna be lean and athletic, and not massive like a bodybuilder. Been working on it for a 1.5 years now. Hopefully can I do pull ups by year 2 without bands.

Hey man, thank you for the video. I remember watching an old video of yours and I think you were against the idea of adding weight that is not part of your body. Could you elaborate on this shift in view? I left my gym membership and want to try calisthenics and would like to use your videos for guidance.

Greetings Tao Physsique, I have the following question: I have just recently started with bodyweight-trainingstyle to build muscle(with barely any prior resistance training experience so far). Now I am already kinda on the heavier side(heigh: ca. 165cm; weight: 94kg). So is it possible in my case to be in a small caloric deficit and still make some significant gainz? Because I am not sure if I should jusr pay the price for becoming even fatter( I think I am already close to 30% bodyfat).
@a-terrible-fate532 Жыл бұрын
I use a lot of bodyweight moves, just the basics because they don't require much equipment and allow me to have shorter workouts. I have never cared about the calisthenics skills, they are useless to me. I care about the basics of strength.

do i focus on 1 kind of training at a time before i can progress or is it good that im switching it up, like do i stick with one workout like pullups squats etc or can i continue switching with archer workouts etc etc yk

Treat it like a regular workout nd focus on certain muscle groups per workout then the next day switch to other muscles

When you add load , you’re effectively not doing calisthenics anymore , which is bodyweight training , you’ve moved into progressive resistance training ie weightlifting , so isn’t that effectively “cheating” ?
