Is there a way to make that second screen a mini map for cod or what?

GPD Win Mini is the better form factor. The normal dual screened Flip makes it perfect for lots of other stuff

It being able to fold lets you put it into a bag without worrying about the screen scratching without needing a bulky case. This is why I'm considering this or the GPD Win Mini

@@PomuLeafEveryday Absolutely. They’re a really good portable unit. The only factor that steered me off of getting either was that the Ally is so well priced compared to most of its competitors. I think I could be persuaded to get a GPD Win Max thought, as a semi portable console and capable laptop all in one

I sold my Win 4 for the Flip DS (not here yet). We all like and want different things. The Win 4 was really nice but I rarely carried it around as I was too worried about damaging the screen or control sticks. The Flip may solve that for me. I also would love to use the 2nd screen to show metrics while playing, or watching walkthroughs, having a map up or maybe just watching/listening to a show.

@@justporter I agree with you on the Flip DS! I was saying specifically that the Flip KB is a worse option than the WinMini for a small foldable with a keyboard (in my opinion). I now realise that I meant the Win Mini and Win Max, not the 4 though. I wouldn’t compare the Win 4 (on purpose). I’ll edit my original comment.

@@PomuLeafEverydayThey’re both too big. Can’t believe two businesses used the less popular clamshell shape, and neither of them fully utilized the form factor’s strengths (space savings etc.) to make theirs pocketable.

I'll stick with my ROG ally and use the micro with UP for a quick KB 🤣

On paper this should out perform my 2019 zephyrus G14 (4900HS), which is still able to play Last Epoch smooth in performance mode at 58-60 fps at an odd resolution that's between 1280p and 4k (sorry I forgot the resolution numbers).
@cfilorvyls4577 ай бұрын
might be the case. The jump to rdna 3 is pretty massive performance wise. Although it needs to be remembered that laptops can run at much higher wattage. These window handhelds can only do so much especially on battery. On my experience playinglast epoch it can't maintain 60fps at all during combat
@SensibleChuckle7 ай бұрын
@@cfilorvyls457 thanks for your input. Mine is fine in performance mode, but in normal mode it might be fine all night or evenings suddenly drop to 8-12 fps that seems tied to more dense geometry meshes with more z depth vista like views, implying LOD. Once it's bigged down, I have to restart the game, or the better option, flip performance mode on. Lowering my settings has some effect but the few extra MHz seems to be all it needs. I don't need to escalate to turbo mode.

I think the gpd win 4 still beats it as it doesn't have those recessed joysticks. interesting device though.

I don't get why such Handhelds allmost allways use Windows as an OS. Windows 11 is such a step back for the usabilty. I understand, that most games run on windows and some ONLY on Windows, but the Ressources needed and the, for a handheld PC, useless Windows UI is such a big step back for the Evolution of these Devices.
@wrwarw54577 ай бұрын
They can't afford to make their own OS like valve can, and they can't afford to support that OS like valve can. Windows 11 is an easy way to make sure pretty much anything will run, with only the odd weird behaviours here and there
@cfilorvyls4577 ай бұрын
Because 99% of gamers use windows? No reason to use anything else unless you have infinite budget like valve

You get full compatibility with all Steam games with Windows. While Proton is great and has evolved a lot, not all games will work with it. Not all games even work with the Steam Deck. Plus you can configure Steam to start on boot with Big Picture Mode which gives you a Steam Deck like UI.
