Some of you will make it! But, for most, it will be much harder... Don't look at this and become the statistic! Take this and understand that you have to fight for it! You can do it! Beat the odds!

60% of American wealth is inherited, meaning that 40% of American wealth was worked for and made from nothing. You can be pessimistic if you want, but 40% is a pretty big chunk. The odds are in your favor, if you really want it.

Agree. They forgot the "Sponsored by KGB"-Tag at the end of the video ;-D. Videos like that are being made to break trust in the American system imo.
@jaroslawkrassowizkij1047
@jaroslawkrassowizkij1047 5 жыл бұрын
You tend to forget the scaling. Yes, 40% of the money was worked for, but these 40% were worked by the whole population, whereas the 60% were inherited by the top 20%? (Well it is 20% in germany, so much more like 10% in USA). Also the point is, it does not matter how much you work for it, you will never have as much money as some people before they were even born. They were lucky, but hardly any skill or work involved. Also not to say there are no hard working rich people, but it is common sence that the lower class works harder since they work for existential survival. Also the 2nd comment is pure BS. Dude this is a system, it does work, but if you do consider it a good one than you are dilusioned. Just the fact you do believe it is fair and this is normal ('40% does not sound bad') shows how much faith you have been taught in a system that is really one of the worst of the functioning ones

I don't know what the hell people are talking about money doesn't make you happy because I know for a fact if I could pay my bills put food on my table and have money left over to do my hobbies I would be happy personally right now I'm one step above being homeless. I literally have $2 in my account right now and that's how it is every single month do you know what it's like to tell you three year old son you can't get him a toy or you can't buy him a piece of candy because you can't afford it and to see the look of sadness in his eyes? Do you have any idea what it's like to go every winter and not be able to buy your kid more than seven presents for Christmas or not even be able to buy coal for your stove having to use a space heater to heat your living room that you have to live in because the rest of your house is literally 40 degrees and lower in the winter time? Do you know it's like to wonder how you could sacrifice so much for your country and pretty much get shit on?

This is spot on, I would only add - luck is also necessary. Looking at only those that did not come from wealth (and many that do come from wealth, tend to believe that they did not) will require: hard work, winning multiple lotteries (such as the brain one, health, geography, etc), and luck - in my opinion. This is not what many want to acknowledge, and perhaps we really need to start looking at how to 'fix' where we are as a nation today. I can't believe that today's system is sustainable nor is it ideal. It bothers me greatly that so much human potential is being wasted today, as people struggle needlessly.

All of these problems are rooted in a debt based monetary policy, where do you think money comes from? it's printed by the Fed and given to banks, which distribute it by loaning it, which means that all currency in existence must be returned to a bank with interest, and how do you get the money to pay the interest? that's right, through more loaned money, which must be returned with more interest. this is my fairly trivial understanding of the situation, all kinds of more complex issues at all levels of the economy are rooted in this monetary policy, you should do research about it yourself.

I'm trying to remember where I heard the analogy of moving up in social financial structures, but the analogy basically was a teacher at the front of the class holding a waste basket, and asked each of the students who were sitting in traditional rows of seating to take out a sheet of paper and crumple it up. Then individually one by one they were asked to throw the paper ball to see if they could get it into the trash can. It was easiest for the kids up front, but damn near impossible for the kids in the back. The kids in the front represented the wealthy, the kids in back the poorer, and after had an open discussion on the topic.

My dad came to America with less than $10,000 in his pocket in 1993. He is now worth more than 1.5 mil. He had no colege, he could hardly speak english, he worked his ass off and made smart decisions. At one point, he had a bad devours with my exstepmother and he lost everything and came back to being of the upper class. Everyone wants to be rich, but no one want's to put in 90 hour work week and/or the burden of running their own company. EVERYONE can become rich as long as they put in the time and is willing to take calculated risks. God bless the USA!

I’m not sure, my parents started off with pretty much nothing, and they did pretty well for themselves. Now I have the money to go to a good university. That’s how inherited wealth works. Maybe you won’t be rich, but if you work hard enough you will likely end off better than you started. And, when you’re gone, you give a head start to your decedents, who just continues the cycle, so maybe you can’t be rich but maybe someone along the line will. Money doesn’t grow on trees, if you are born into a rich family, someone made that money for you

My parents had a similar situation, yet they were lucky... No one got sick, they only took care of their family (themselves and their children) had health care and jobs, both of them had them, which they kept for a long time. They were given loans to do those things which gave them a head start. Yes, they worked hard but had something bad would've happened who knows where we would've been today. Also, tho my mom's family wasn't rich, they have been very supportive to the point of sacrificing something for the su in order to see a sibling happy. Imagine that kind of support. All I am saying is that breaking from poverty has also a lot to do with chance...

For those who are in a financially challenging situation right now, you need to remember that even if these statistics and odds seem discouraging, it is still possible for you to escape the cycle of poverty and debt and come out victorious. Maybe that means saving money for emergencies, making a lifestyle change, selling off unused belongings, starting a side business, or looking for a new job. Whatever it may be, it's important that there is that willpower and determination to creating a better life for you and your family. Don't let these stats stop you from overcoming your situation.

Counter argument: there are a lot of poorly paying jobs that have to be done. So there will always MUST be some poor people, unless income is distributed more equally
@studiopaultv
@studiopaultv 6 жыл бұрын
That's a good argument so far, but a lot of poorly paying jobs right now are also the most likely to become automated in the future. If poor people took local classes on higher paying, less repetitive fields like information technology or even hospitality, they can apply for those types of jobs and they will be less prone to being replaced by automation.
@awesomecraftstudio
@awesomecraftstudio 6 жыл бұрын
Automaton will just lead to more unemployment all these poor people can't just suddenly get higher paying jobs, jobs aren't a unlimited resource. And even if they were, where would these people take the money from to take these classes?
@studiopaultv
@studiopaultv 6 жыл бұрын
Poor people can usually rely on financial aid or government assistance programs to help them pay for college classes and other needs. In the case of job scarcity, they could try working for side gigs, family members, and friends. They could also try selling off things they're not currently using and starting their own small little business or going online to search for freelance work.
@awesomecraftstudio
@awesomecraftstudio 6 жыл бұрын
If you have good connections and can find a job through nepotism that doesn't decrease job scarcity, it just get's you a job that someone else looses and poor people ususally don't own that much stuff they could sell, certainly not enough to start a business with the money. Also freelancers still need assignments wich aren't unlimited either.

My mom would give it all back for more time and I would give everything I have for the same. Inheritances are really depressing because people think it’s some consolation prize and takes away from the death of a loved one. Losing someone you love is terrible for anyone and having the media cover it makes it even worse because you can’t escape and everyone knows about your situation

No this is bullshit and I'll tell you why. 1.) You don't need to go to college in order to have an income greater than six figures. I know enough people who haven't been to college and make more than 2x what doctors make. 2.) Most people do not know how to handle money. They buy stuff they can't really afford and somehow expect to become rich at some point in their life with no real way of getting there. 3.) Ok, I will admit luck will play a good role in how wealthy you become, but mentality is what will ultimately get you there. Managing your money by having more assets than liabilities is what sets the rich apart from the poor. The REAL sad truth is that many people don't actually strive to become rich, they don't have a plan to get there and somehow expect to be rich one day. It's not society, it's not the rich, it's you, trust me. All you need to do is read up on ways you can invest your money if you aren't sure. Don't spend your money on useless shit. Make smart decisions, like not getting married at 19 and spending all your money on that. Don't have a kid at the age of 19 as well. etc etc etc. You can at least get yourself in a partially wealthier situation than where you were 5 years ago, just by saving and not being dumb. Watch youtube videos, just do research and treat money as if it really matters and you'll do just fine I promise. Creating excuses like what this videos is partially preaching "You are what you are born to be" will get you no-where. You can be better, just be smart about it.

If by living expenses you mean a flat where you live on your own, socialising, car on finance and iPhone then you'll find those are actually "lifestyle choices" and the reason why you have no money. Try sharing bills, getting a crap car, buying a phone outright and cut back on socialising and things you don't need and you'll find yourself with $10000 before you know it. And Katie's advice was also good. I would be having a much harder time if I was working a minimum wage job but I got a job that paid well but was dangerous and long hours, after a good few cuts and even broken bones later I managed to buy my second house in cash from it. Don't be to picky with jobs. Find the shit but high paying manual ones AND be very frugal with money and you'll soon have a bloated bank account.

Jack Nguyen so... does this mean your rich? The video said there's 4.8 million millionaires. Are you in this portion? Are you a millionaire? Or are you having better expectations than what you thought or was with. Meaning nothing to a little something.. These rich people will say they are poor once they are in the 100,000 dollar range. Shit I'd be fucking happy if I had 100,000 dollars.. Then the video also said there's assets vs cash on hand. You also mentioned over the next five years. How do you know what will be like in five years? You could get fired, plans don't go as planned, and plans change constantly. That is a disruption for the five years plan.

1. Never let someone bring you down 2. Make smart decisions For example, DON'T GO TO COLLEGE. Let me explain first. Most of us think that we need to go to college and only college for 4 entire years to have any chance in the job market and real world. YOU DON'T. A trade school is what you should do. Trade schools are cheap with some even being completely free of tuition where you take courses that are directly related to the job you want. You learn actual skills for the job you're pursuing. After the course is over, you are GUARANTEED A SKILLED JOB while in little or no debt at all. Sometimes, as soon as you are given a job after the trade, you can get paid a lot of money. For example, there is a trade up in New York where commercial welders earn $65 an hour right out of the box! The best part is that the trades for said skilled jobs are somewhat unpopular among the millennial generation and with the baby boomers soon retiring, employers are going to need skill workers and will be willing to pay a lot of money for these workers. And most of these skilled jobs will NOT be taken over by robots anytime soon. The downside is that not every trade is for every job. All trades are for 'blue-collar' jobs such as plumbers, welders, electricians, etc which are skilled, sometimes labor-intensive, and sometimes dangerous. If you're thinking you want to go to a trade school in order to pursue an office job then you are very mistaken as office jobs are unskilled so there's no skills to learn.

A Person well . You don't really need to go to college if you want to get rich , but what about those people that chose their careers based on how fulfilled those careers will make them rather than how well-paid are those careers. I mean , if you really want to be a doctor there's no other choice than to go to college . The same goes if you want to be an engineer. I mean , you won't necessarily become rich just by working for other people but it that makes you happy then it doesn't matter in my opinion

I am 38, self-made millionaire. In all honesty, the pursuit has destroyed most relationships in my life. I haven’t gone on vacation in a decade. I work 90 hours a week. I work out hard for an hour a day. I eat healthy. I sleep 5 hours a night. I often work 7 days a week. MartyvH ~ You have either misunderstood, been lied to, or made that figure up. The average cost of living is 360,000 Philippine Piso, equating to $6905 USD per year. Try living in the US on less than $7k a year, then you might recognise that the relative cost of living matters when comparing different countries. With a business degree it is more plausible that she is earning $40 a day than a week - giving her double the annual cost of living.

I am part of the 5%. My father is an affluent lawyer, I am getting a quality education and will most likely have my BSN within five years and make enough money to go to nurse practitioners school. This video has awakened something in me. I won’t be able to do it for a while, but I promise I will use whatever money and affluence I gain to try and fix even a small portion of this. Once I have the money and hopefully a practice, I plan on having weekly free clinicals and checkups for those who cannot otherwise afford healthcare, and whatever money can be reasonably spared will go to brilliant but poor students trying to break the cycle of poverty. Anyone else with the same bright future and good socioeconomic status, I beg of you, help. Be the people that create more futures, not the people that drag them further away.

What people also don't understand is that for one to be rich, lots of other people have to be poor or at least, have less. Therefore, if people want to earn more than others, they have to be doing something DIFFERENTLY from the masses. For instance, I never prioritized getting a degree. Pretty much EVERYONE else does that. What I did prioritize was doing something different from what the other 99% of people did, something where I could sense a demand that was not being met. Even then there's no guarantee you'll be rich, but if there would be a textbook ruke for achieving that, this would be it: go for a demand that's not currently met, in one way or another, and do something different from what the other 99% do. Oh, and hard work. That can help. The idea matters more though, talking as someone who's been there.

Richard Karr Success is a subjective term. I still haven't reached my own rigorous standards of success, but I guess you could say I am "rich" by the mainstream society's standards, but that's besides the point. Let's just say what I did had to do with cryptos, a niche and up-and-coming domain. I did something unique in a field few are yet considering because many deem it as being still "risky". But that made all the difference in my situation. And degrees had nothing to do with that.

I got a labouring job that was shit and dangerous but paid well and had loads of hours. I bought my second house at the age of 26 with the money from that job. Now I let them out, have a big net worth for my age and make thousands above the average salary with no degree, no skilled job and horrific diarrhoea. Fuck it's bad, do you have a cure? On the subject again the way it's done is ruthlessly simple. Get the best paying job you can realistically find, even if it's utter crap and cut down on expenses like a mother fucker. Then, put all the money saved into buying property or good stocks which make even more money. There isn't a single book with a step by step guide to becoming a rich because there are literally thousands, millions of options you can take that'll get you there. As of yet I'm still not rich but I certainly have more than most my age and it really only took me 5 years so far.

I live in London, UK and I think the idea of becoming Rich has some quite significant differences to the American possibility. Please do a video on this, a UK version. We have free health care, our student loans only have to be paid if you earn over a certain amount of money. There are a lot of opportunities for people to actually get rich, education is actually pretty good too, but there are also many difficulties some similar to the ones mentioned in this video.

I’m a 2.2 millionaire. I got this from going to college and I was a diesel Tec from age 18-26 average salary of 103k a year working in the oil field. I made smart decision by getting a. Financial advisor. After buying shares and investments my wealth grew. I don’t own a house but I do own a 400k dollar motor home I live in and I still drive my 97 Toyota Land Cruiser. I’m 35 and haven’t had to work a day in my life since I was 30. It’s possible to break the poverty line. But it takes hard work and a strong discipline not to fall into the main stream matters of owning the next best thing. Shoot I still have a iPhone 5c.
