Everyone would have survived if the movie world operated under actual physics, laws, and basic logic. A car rams into the truck that's carrying the zombie. Instead of the truck doing what a truck would do in real life and obliterating the car and move on, it explodes for no reason. Instead of the military blocking off the road for other vehicles or providing air support, they do none of that. Instead if transporting the alpha via air they do it by road. Instead of having a competent military force to transfer it, they send the guys from clown college.

Standard Zombie protocols. 1) Boil all Water 2) Consume only established safe prepackaged foodstuffs 3) minimize noise 4) establish choke points 5) establish second-floor safe zones only accessible by ladder. In Sky scrapers or other tall buildings, remove access to a level through any other means than a ladder through the stairwell or opening in the floor. 6) fire is key to cleansing the infected 7) duct tape makes for excellent improvised bite guards 8) aim for the head and always verify it is dead before approaching 9) A blind zombie is a useless zombie 10) if it'd hurt you, it'll hurt them. Build traps. Congrats, unless you are in the first 10 minutes of an outbreak if you follow these tips you'll survive. Read World War Z survive guide for more tips.

Funny how literally no one in this movie uses steel core 5.56, despite the fact that it's really easy to find because it's standard issue for the US army. Steel core can penetrate thin metal rather easily, making those helmets completely useless

FWIW, the zombies' helmets are pointless because bullets would still zip right through them. Idk where the Alpha found his helmet or what he made it from, but even if it's steel, it'd be some kind of thin, mild steel that even handgun rounds would go right through. Even modern ballistic kevlar helmets are turned to swiss cheese by rifle rounds. If you think about it, 'real' zombies wouldn't be very scary unless they literally funcion via magic or something because they're still just biological machines dependant on blood pumping to muscles to move or function. They're as fragile as humans but without the same intelligence or any sort or survival instinct.

There are some topics worth exploring about this kind of zombies: - Do they regenerate? The alpha at least seems to be able to regenerate since none of the gunshot wounds remain on his body. - Are the shamblers zombies while the alphas are infected thus some being more intelligent than others? - Do they get more intelligent over time? - Why would you go to the ground level exit when you stated that you were going to go to the roof and steal the helicopter?

Hears my problem (spoilers BTW) The movie shows that the infection takes a few seconds like with the soldiers in the beginning and then a few minutes with Scott, however the last guy who survives is biten by the Alpha like 1 hour and 50 into the film and gets trapped into the vault and is left there for like an hour (but manages to escape from a tunnel? That nobody took notice and apparently wasn't on the blueprints) and then travels from Las Vegas to Utah Airport. The nearest airport to the nevada border is st. George's regional and that's like a 3 hour drive and then he buys a private plane that heads to Mexico City which is an 6 or 8 hour flight from Utah meaning that the infection from the alpha, which is shown to take minutes to completely infect a host but for some reason takes the infection 10 or so hours to take affect. I'm so sorry fro the long rant but it just pissed me off so much and believe me it's not the only problem with this film

So something I thought of, if you were to drop paratroopers into a horde of zombies, why not give the paratroopers 40 mm grenade launchers? Each grenade has a instant kill radius of about 7 to 8 meters for shoulder fired. And a casualty range of up to 400 feet. One guy with 6 shots in the drum could kill or reduce hundreds of zombies down to just a head before he hits the ground. Some of them would still die but it wouldn't be like dropping them into a wood chipper

They have confined the horde in the city, dropping napalm in the middle of the city while the infantry pick the zombies one by one from the safety of the top of the container walls sounds logical enough. This is the first zombie movie I found unbearable so I might've missed something... or have I missed none since this is a movie from the guy who directed the "Save Martha" movie?

The parachute troopers are being sent in the middle of hordes of zombie serve as bait. By sending live meat in the center where all zombies can see will draw them in one spot. This will give people time to set up the wall of trailers and avoid waves of monsters tryig to eat you. It's also why l think they tried shooting missiles in the center too. Either to wipe them out or cause more distraction.

You think Zeus (he has a name?) keeps his army within the wall because peaceful intention / co-existence but I'd rather think he knows that without the protection/cover provided by the city of Las Vegas - which (if I'm not mistaken) is a city in the middle of the dessert - they will not survive the harsh condition of the desert or the aerial attack from the government. In summary: he is trapped. He wants to increase the size of his army of alphas so he can break out of this trap. He also wants to have a child because - presumably - the child will be able to create alphas as well.

Well, in DEFENCE of the paratroopers dropping into a city full of zombies (and this is a far stretch), they were probably being dropped onto their assigned DZ (drop zone) which was most likely clear of zombies at that time in order to establish a defensive perimeter to get as many survivors out of the city as possible. As the aircraft were approaching OR as the paratroopers were being dropped, the DZ was suddenly & unexpectedly overrun. Being in a parachute and descending to earth towards a rather large group of highly agitated zombies, was pretty difficult to NOT land center-mass of them. So, knowing that they are about to die very horribly, time to pull out what weapons they had on them and..... Yep - I KNOW this is a far stretch, but watching that seen just irritates the zombie-snot out of me, so developed this ALTERNATIVE explanation whether they were Army, Air Force or Boy Scouts. Does not matter what agency or branch of service they were in, their DZ was probably suddenly/unexpectedly overrun.

As some people have pointed out, a why you wouldn't survive the sas4 interplanetary apocalypse would be awesome. Like seriously, you have zombies that will continually evolve,becoming more and more deadly with some randomly mutating features like bullet resistant skin, insane speeds, becoming resistant to fire,bio weapons and corrosive substances, and LITERALLY BEING ABLE TO PHASE THROUGH SOLID OBJECTS. And that's not even mentioning the bosses and the fact that the virus can use the cybernetics of victims to infect an AI that controls all military equipment in the system meaning that not only do you have to deal with ever evolving InFeCtEd, you also have to deal with your own defences and war machines being turned against you with the only choice (that the president rightfully did) was to use an ancient superweapon to destroy a planet with 100 million people on it and that STILL wasn't enough to fully eliminate the threat needing several cleanups to fully take care of it. At least a vaccine was made a few months into the outbreak so if you survived the biggest planet where you probably lived getting vapourised you should be fine,or if a zombie decides to eat you at least you will have the last laugh as the cure literally melts any InFeCtEd that come into contact with it.
