To get the worst ending, I think you need to actively plan sabotage against your war assets all the way back from ME1 (Wrex must survive so you can lose krogan support later, for example). Killing all but one crew member in Me2 is also fairly difficult without prior planning.

It's weird that people seem to have this misconception that, in Mass Effect, starships don't have FTL drives on board and instead rely entirely on Mass Relays to get about, when this just simply isn't true. I mean, that should be obvious if you play Andromeda, since the Arks and Nexus only took 634 years or somewhere around that to reach Andromeda, rather than millions of years if they went at the speed of light, or even longer than that if they couldn't even go 1% of light speed. I guess it just shows that a lot of people didn't read the Codex or even pay much attention to dialogue. These ship based FTL drives usually max out at a speed of about 12 light years per day, around 4500 times the speed of light, which is *_screaming_* fast, about four times faster than maximum warp in Star Trek, but still kinda slow for longer interstellar distances, which is where the Relays come in.

Another misconception is that the FTL is limited in range. In truth, the Range of the Mass Effect FTL is practically limitless. You just have to find Gas Giants and Brown Dwarf stars, which are ridiculously common, to discharge your static buildup. Even then, any planet with a Magnetic field is good enough for that. The only real limitation is food supplies and speed.

@@D3sdinova no the Andromeda ark ships usedthe Mass Relay network in the Milky Way Galaxy because the drives that they use in Andromeda would be too out in the open( they are massive technical works that needed to be kept secret in the Galaxy). The drives themselves are able to at least match or exceed that of conventional drives in a standard configuration but in long range jumps are able to bypass the the need for a Mass Relay. The advantage is that those drives allowed the Andromeda exudus fleet to go from their docks to the Galaxy's edge in one trip through the network.

Synthesis never really elaborates on a postmortem consciousness but it's also very likely as well. Many people seem to forget about this little tidbit.

​@@Shadohz75 well i generally *want to believe*, but Shep is the first organic (or even first sentient) to be able to use the crucible, and becomes a near omnipotent consciousness thingy afterwards in the control ending. Synthesis was never initiated by the catalyst so it's something very different from the harvesting process. From what we know harvested individuals are put into tubes and turned into protein milk shake. It is suggested that part of their consciousness is analyzed and used as a form of data in the process of creating a new reaper but I definitely wouldn't be that optimistic about it.

@@angrysalarian1264 To be fair no species ever really tried to use a flotilla outside of the range of mass relays. They were always limited to stick close. Due to needing to release built-up heat from their FTL drives. So none of them ever thought of it as a viable option. Humans were the only one to think of ejectable heat sinks, for both ships and weapons. Which was only made possible due to the geth. So it would have been possible. Difficult but possible.

@Podlodial Gilap It's a what if scenario, mate. The flotilla wasn't attacked till they decided to attacked the Geth (and in turn the Geth was forced to give into Reaper control). So in theory they would be the ones with the not only the technological superiority (unless another species has live ships) in this aspect to other species but they also have the number/variations of ships for traveling in dark space to support such an idea (ignoring Andromeda of course). They don't even have to go to dark space, just travel to a system that doesn't have a mass relay and hope no Reapers come, set up some grid that is like a tripwire and just move to another system when Reapers do come.

Something worth noting: Reapers are protected by Kinetic Barriers. These are effective defences against mass accelerators, and the Reapers have very advanced ones. But they _only_ protect against mass accelerators, and can be overcome by certain types of those (Thanix cannons). As such, the best weapon to use against a Reaper is a particle beam or laser. These weapons would pass straight through the kinetic barrier, and could be used to destroy the Reaper's own weapons. After that, the Reaper will be forced to either retreat to receive repairs, or can have its hull stripped away over time by continued firing. In Mass Effect, mass accelerators are the preferred weapon over lasers because eezo makes it very easy to send a slug to near light speed and don't disappear, while lasers generate a lot of waste heat, and diffraction limits their effective range. It makes sense that in a fight between peers, mass accelerators would be more effective. However, against Reapers, only a barrage of multiple Dreadnought mass accelerators will result in damage. Reapers also seem to like closing the range in order to melee kill enemy units. Between these two factors, it seems to me that directed energy weapons should at least be considered in a war against the Reapers.

The Reapers' main weapon is still a mass-accelerator, it just accelerates a stream of molten metal instead of a single small metal slug. It doesn't pass through kinetic barriers unimpeded, it _overwhelms_ them with power. That's why the Reaper weapon is unlimited in range - its not a laser at all.

2 is skippable. BW made sure of that be adding replacement characters and giving the most beloved character from ME (Legion) the lowest amount of screen time. I've done a No Survivors playthrough using the ME3 Save Editor (available on Nexus for PC or console) and events pretty much play out the same (bland) way less the emotional character attachment and feeling robbed. If they had actually bothered to create a unique alternate storyline for not rescuing/saving your teammates then I don't think they'd got as much pushback as they did for the ME3 ending. BTW I'm not actually suggesting skipping ME2. Just pointing out that in the grand scheme everything you worked hard for was for naught because EA talked BW into smearing hot butter between our ass cheeks before plowing through... and I secretly hope every single one of them involved was fired and currently homeless and I get to roast marshmallows over the roasting husk of EA's HQ building oh shit did I just say that out loud.

There is no way in hell we would survive. A Earth far more technologically advanced couldn't do squat. So we certainly wouldn't stand a chance. Hell even with the other species the war is only barely won with astronomical casualties. So yea we would be fucked if the Reapers invaded our Earth.

One thing you did seem to not go over completely, you did detail the husks that the reapers make but theres so much more too it than that, just about every species in the galaxy got their own variation of a husk, each with much more terrifying abilities than the standard husk, would love a couple videos detailing those guys as they were the reaper ground forces during the invasion of the galaxy in ME3.

Short answer no reapers could not indoctrinate the flood it's all about speed the logic plague is faster when a gravemind and a reaper would meet the reaper be defeated by the gravemind not killed however so they would talk a lot and the reaper would be butt fucked by the gravemind cough precursor

no name logic plague is not quicker, it took decades for the logic plague to effect mendicant bias, and the AI was captured, doubt a massive reaper could be captured. Indoctrination however can work in days. Floods only strength would be that their combat forms are pretty much husks to an extent, can’t be indoctrinated. Once a reaper reached an actual Gravemind, I doubt the Gravemind would be able to put up a fight.

There is only one problem with this theory: lorewise we would have found Citadel the moment after the last harvest has been done. That would leave us 50.000 years until the next invasion, and giving how some Asari were voting for them to create their own Mass Relays who knows what technology we would invent in meantime while the Reapers are dormant in cold space.
