I badly wanted to see a glimpse of cavs kyrie in the finals against the celtics not the shooting and him being clutch but just him being unguardable and easily dribbling his way to the basket. Hopefully to see it next ssn
@plankworld25392 ай бұрын
I doubt he'll ever go back to the cavs version. I heard him say a while back that due to injuries and how the game evolved he had to change his game up. This playstyle is definitely tiring and puts his body in stress with the moves and quick angles he take.
@jorgecuello26972 ай бұрын
To be honest Kyrie is better now than in 2016. As a matter of fact last season he averaged the same amount of points( 25 pts) as he he did on the cavs in 2016. He can turn it up whenever he wants but takes a back seat to let luka be the main ball handler and get his teammates involved. Kyrie has explained that back then all he wanted to do was score. He had a big ego. In a interview he said when he was in Boston his mentality going to practice was " I can beat you, you and YOU! can't nobody tell me nothing". But since then he has been on a spiritual path to be more selfless, let go of peoples perception of him and do what is right for the people around him, but man wished he could go out there and play like he has to prove something. I watched game 3 live and it hurt seeing Kyrie passing the ball to luka when he had not score in the 4 the quarter. I kept asking myself " man, did Kyrie forget he is KYRIE FUCKING IRVING!?? Take the ball from fucking luka and go crazy! No one on the Mavs roster is deserving of the ball in the 4th quarter while he is on the court". He played so passive while letting luka take brick after brick.

He’s a better pull up shooter from three as stated in the video,better midrange shooter as stated in this video, and he didn’t start finishing at the rim at over 60% until Boston as stated in this video, he’s a better playmaker and passer now, and the defense is night and day, he also gets more defensive attention now than back then. Cavs stats: 21/3/5 on 46/38/87 splits Boston stats: 24/4/6 on 49/40/88 splits Brooklyn stats: 27/5/6 on 49/39/91 splits Dallas stats: 26/5/5 on 50/40/92 splits

He's definitely one of the most versastile scorers because he has basically every scoring move and counter but players like AI Tmac Melo kd dame have less of a bag but are generally considered better scorers. Not to mention kobe and Jordan
@abtocool6350Ай бұрын
What makes dame a better scorer?, the scoring difference between them is literally free throw attempts. The most free throws kyrie has ever averaged in a season is 5 while the most dame has ever averaged in a season is 9. While dame gets the slight edge as a three point shooter, Kyrie is better as a midrange shooter and is better around the rim and both of those things are in favor for Kyrie statistically. He also has a postgame and a better face up game.
@youngcaprio5972Ай бұрын
I think the sort of implication that Kyrie isn't what he was is overstated and sort of based in confirmation bias. In the playoffs he was basically always the fastest and quickest guard on the floor east to west, north to south. It really stood out on defense.

I really dont get why most of americans underrate kyrie so much. "Offcourt atitude. Politics. Thinks the world is flat." I really dont give a fuck. This guy is by far my favorite player to watch since I first seen him play at 2016. Yes im a casual, and not American. But fuck it . this guy is Messi of basketball . His skills are just on an alien level. To me what he does is by far the most interesting game ive seen. So much more than just a big guy being dominant cause hes big .(wemby, shaq) a 3 point machine (curry) or just a tank that does it all (lebron, giannis) . Skill should be more relevant than just height when analyzing 2 nba players. Just my opinion tho.
@MonoPrime2 ай бұрын
He is not the Messi of basketball lmao. That’s definitely LeBron or Jordan. There are lots of big guys who never sniff a few minutes of play in the NBA, let alone MVP awards like Shaq. I promise that if you saw someone like Shaq play in real life it would shock you to see other giant 7’0 men being tossed around like kids by Shaq. Steph is probably the greatest shooter of all time. The entire game of basketball is predicated around the ability to shoot the ball. LeBron is arguably the GOAT. 3 franchises and he’s never failed to bring them at least one championship. Kyrie has only managed to win a championship by being the 2nd option to LeBron. It’s far more impressive to have Giannis athleticism at his size than Kyrie’s athleticism at his size. Kyrie’s only trait in which he’s a top 3 player in the league is his handle. And bro if you think that skill should matter more than height or results than you obviously think Muggsy Bogues is the greatest player of all time considering he played in the NBA at 5’3. The truth is that being a great dribbler doesn’t make you a great basketball player. It just makes casuals like you overrate someone because you can’t accept that the game is more than handles.
@prezian13122 ай бұрын
@@MonoPrime it seems you’re a casual, if you really just think Kyrie just has handles and even comparing him to Muggsy Bogues.

@@grostoss4259 Bro when did I say Kyrie isn’t a great player? He’s clearly an all-star calibre player. But he’s not an MVP calibre player, let alone a GOAT tier player. My point is that the only one of his skills that is GOAT tier would be his handle which is probably top 5 all time.
@MonoPrimeАй бұрын
@@prezian1312 Lmao. Bro my point is that calling Kyrie the greatest player in the history of basketball because he’s short and really good makes about as much sense as calling Muggsy Bogues the greatest of all time because of his height disadvantage.
