Well actually, age does matter. You're right, we must respect everyone. But that's not the point she was trying to make. She was asking him to "respect her age" basically. A fragile old woman with a disability, needs to be given extra respect. Her age is something one must respect. There isn't a case of not giving respect to anyone, but it doesn't hurt giving some extra amount of respect to someone much older than you. After all, they've been through much more than the "younger generation".

I had also fought like this for a old lady to get her seat in train.. I request all the young boys and girls help senior citizens and disabled. I used to stand in bus by giving my seat to old people. That thing makes really really happy. I feel like am helping my parents. Missing you amma and appa. I can see u in helping elder people.
