Why Your Age Shouldn’t Stop You from Pursuing a Voice Over Career

Hi, I kind of fell into voice over. I was a recording artist, studio owner and record producer many years ago. After leaving the audio industry about 25 years ago, I didn’t think I would ever work in audio again. About two years ago my wife and I were asked to do some promo work for a series of books by an old friend who was a publisher. After doing a voice over for the books, my wife was asked to do the audio books. She was 74 years old! Soon after that I was asked to do a book. Then a children’s book, then another. I am currently finishing up my third book and have two more waiting in the wings! I am 77 years old and enjoying this new career tremendously! Our age does not hinder our work and it is so rewarding. I narrate, edit and master the product to ACX standards. While it took a little time to learn this kind of recording I believe anyone who has an interest, at any age, can do it!!!

Hi Iwanna! Thank you so much for the kind words. I certainly am trying to post more. There are just so much on my plate right now. That's also the reason why I cannot have coaching sessions yet.
