Hi, I kind of fell into voice over. I was a recording artist, studio owner and record producer many years ago. After leaving the audio industry about 25 years ago, I didn’t think I would ever work in audio again. About two years ago my wife and I were asked to do some promo work for a series of books by an old friend who was a publisher. After doing a voice over for the books, my wife was asked to do the audio books. She was 74 years old! Soon after that I was asked to do a book. Then a children’s book, then another. I am currently finishing up my third book and have two more waiting in the wings! I am 77 years old and enjoying this new career tremendously! Our age does not hinder our work and it is so rewarding. I narrate, edit and master the product to ACX standards. While it took a little time to learn this kind of recording I believe anyone who has an interest, at any age, can do it!!!

Wow, Steve! Thank you so much for sharing this with us! This would encourage so many people on this channel! You and your wife are the perfect example that your age and experience can give you an edge in this industry! Even I am encouraged! Thank you, thank you! :)

Hello Anna, I find your content very easy to digest, watch, and listen to. I wish you posted more often and/or you had some coaching options to learn from you directly!

Hi Iwanna! Thank you so much for the kind words. I certainly am trying to post more. There are just so much on my plate right now. That's also the reason why I cannot have coaching sessions yet. I am trying to find an alternative to it. In the meantime, just let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to answer. :)

@Anna Buena Thank you foe the reply, you're so kind! I'd love to see a detailed video about how to search/audition for jobs on ACX and then how to record & edit them once you get a job. That seems to be a hard one to find anywhere online. Salamat po!

In short, we eliminate the middleman who is the only one who will tell us we are either too old or too young. We can be our own agent!❤

Yes, because honestly, apart from ourselves, they are the only ones who will tell us whether we are too old or too young. :)
