Love your videos dude. Plz read lol. Have a 2020 X5. MHD stage 2 XHP stage 2. High flow downpipe. Was going to do this next. Biggest concern is the mix and not wanting to hurt the vehicle. My tuner said once this kit installed if you want to run any mixture 93,91 pump gas or e30,e40 whatever you would flash it with the “multi map” is that correct? So pretty much the multimap flash is the one that reads it all for you and changes on the fly. You don’t have to be exact every time you pump

What type of sensor does mhd use? My sensor went bad I ended up buying a whole mhd kit to get back going fast again but I might order a sensor and sell the kit as a whole if I can find the same sensor

How about the splicing needed for the 6MT B58 flex fuel kit from MHD? I have MHD stage 2 and want to run E30-40 and according to MHD, the flex fuel kit for the manual cars is different and needs to be spliced into CAN lines.

That's something I'll be testing out. But keep in mind that bootmod3 is coming out with their own kit as well.

Hi kevin if a run 93 stage 2 mhd and i put e85 and the mix is e30 the tunes adjust auto likes the stage 2 e30 mhd tunes because is hard to get e85 so i dont run everyday ethanol thx

So, you will say is better to install flex fuel on B58 than putting port Injection and let the flex fuel sensor do the work?

Those two things solve two different problems. Port injection is still going to be helpful if you're running out of fuel. And it will take advantage of full E85 if you decide to run that in the future. But you need the flex fuel sensor for the tune to adjust appropriately. There are also port injection controllers that can use the flex fuel sensor reading as a part of the fuel control. So they all work together.

There are no issues with running ethanol. Just keep up with your maintenance.

Question: With a flex fuel kit installed and with it only reading the absense of fossil fuel, how does this tune differ from a ots 93 tune? With flex fuel installed, does it read only ~10% ethanol if I put a tank of 93? I wonder what tune differences there are with running ots 93 vs flex fuel kit running 93(in a scenario where I can't find ethanol stations)?

As the video shows it adjusts for any ethanol content. If your pump gas is 0% or 10% it'll adjust

There are only a few tables that are adjusted but the main ones we care about are fueling, boost, and timing

Great video, thanks for the info 💪. I have a 2020 Supra currently running an MHD stage 2 with 91oct. With the MHD flex sensor, does it have a new OTS map to dynamically adjust for any E mixture or would I need a custom MHD tune? Also, when leaving the MHD OBDII wifi adapter plugged in, it sets off the car alarm when locking the doors even if I disconnect the phone app from wifi/OBDII. It makes it annoying to have to reconnect/disconnect the adapter everytime I get in the car to use the gauges.

If they don't already have OTS maps for it, I believe they will be adding it in the future. But it's usually best to get it from a custom tuner. The dongle pulls power so that's probably why the alarm goes off. As long as it's plugged into the port it'll draw a current. Unfortunately that's just something that you have to do if you want to connect it every time you drive.

The sensor is just what the tune reads. You'll still need to flash a flex fuel tune that uses the reading as a part of its calibration. Both MHD and BM3 will be releasing flex fuel capability in the future.

Correct. It's basically adding a sensor that the tune needs. But you need a tune that can actually read it. They work together.

You don't have to change your map when you're running the flex fuel kit. Just flash a flex fuel tune and the car will automatically adjust. If you flash a regular e20, E30, ETC map then you need to just make sure you're getting your mix right.

Running E20 on a 93 octane map doesn't mean you will make more power. If you want more power then run a tune for whatever ethanol mix you'd like.
