So is the only solution to get an implant? I had two molars pulled last year and we decided on one implant, so I do have some space on the back left. I really don't want to go spend the money on a new implant, help!

@@felrau1 I hope this helps? I have the same issue; lost a back molar several years ago. My left hip has been an issue the last couple of years, even really badly this past week. My chiropractor fixes it really easily. I see her once every six weeks. If all is good, my pelvis rotation is minimal. I also use the elliptical cross trainer every gym session (4-5 times a week); day one I do 45-60 minutes (distance 14-14.5 km); day two, I do 30-35 minutes (distance 7-7.5 km). I do upper body resistance training on day 2. Also, I finish off every gym session with a 15 minute walk on the treadmill at 6-6.5 km pace but no incline because this affects hip rotation and hip flexor issues. I do 15 minute stretches after each session. I am obsessed with posture and form and always have been. I have a rest day for day 3, then repeat. Walking is essential to help resetting the body. I also use Conor's work on the psoas and diaphragm, which has helped enormously. I didn't realise how much my breathing was being affected by diaphragm position until I had a bout of influence recently. The coughing threw out my whole upper body, especially the ribs. I am 63 and trained all my adult life. I used to be a long distance runner, but to protect my knees and hips, switched to the elliptical because it's no/low impact. Oh, I have a slight scoliosis in my upper back so need to be really aware of it. Also, have Scheuermann's Disease which affects the vertebra. I just realised, I don't know how I get around! LOL! Actually, if you exercise and take care of yourself, you can do amazing things and pain free for most of the time. Good luck!

Amazing. 6 years ago or so I did breathing exercises accompanied with the realisation that there was a certain person in my life that I never had to see again if I did not want to and, like an epiphany I felt a tension in my stomach/lower back and breathwork loosened it up, my interpretation, and lo and behold I straightened my spine for the first time in my life. It was even journaled as scholiosis from early on in my life but, there it was, it was fear, my body was stuck in freeze bc I was always scared. Now this experience is explained to me, thank you :)

I wish I could train with this guy in-person!!! It's been 15 years of physical therapy, thousands of dollars wasted on medical appointments, and countless hours each day spent doing the prescribed "corrective exercises" that have only reinforced the dominant, compensating muscles at the expense of the underactive, atrophying muscles. I desperately need someone with this detailed knowledge of the intricate interconnections among the various body tissues and systems.

This is crazyyy conor you are the legend. I have been having muscular imbalance issues since years . I have tried many things but nothing worked and it kept causing more tightness and issues . I forgot that i had a chipped molar few years ago. After seeing this video i straightway went to the dentist got my molar fixed and the very next moment i stood up with a clenched jaw i saw the diff. My issues were getting fixed while i was walking i was in Left ZOA automatically without any exercises, could feel my side abs just by clenching my jaw. I can raise my right arm over head.I am soo happy i stopped playing basketball cause of these issues . I feel empowered and i can go back to gym . Thank you so much conor you are a gem to the physio community. I hope you do wonders.

I heard about this theory from another site that included hearing and sight in their presentation. I developed a macular hole and lost a lot of left side vision. I realise now my confidence was shot and my stress levels rocketed because I couldn't see properly. 2 years on my PSOAS was excruciating. I was walking on the balls of my feet and my arches fell. Balance was shot and I lurched from bending over to nearly falling. My work on this: when I am outdoors, I walk with my head up and move both eyes from left to right from time to time; I practice regular breathing. Every ten minutes, I stop and stand with my feet shoulder-width apart and gently sway L to R - this resets my brain's awareness my left is OK. I move my neck L to R several times to loosen it up. Another factor is I do not sit with my feet up. I want my feet to know where they are and I sometimes press down to the floor each foot saying silently Left Right as I go. All this has made so much difference. I reduced pain, fear, and a sense of helplessness. My balance is so much better. Whenever I feel stressed, the PSOAS tightens to let me know flight or flight is kicking in, so I start my routine checks and right it. Life-changing stuff. Readers this is not a daft concept - you can make little changes that cost nothing to use.

Egoscue designed routines that stretch and activate muscles in order to remind body it's design and it works. I had an osteopath cracking my neck and could feel how my left foot turned the opposite way. None of it helped, just confirmed what you are saying that cranium is very influential, however it's muscles pulling on bones and keeping us out of alignment. So we need to remind our quads they are designed for walking after we release psoas, if we just release psoas without quad activation and motion ( walking ) brain will default back into faulty pattern. Obviously it takes repetition because we are changing patterns

Man you are seriously a genius. I've been in constant pain and gut issues for almost a decade now. And what a coincidence.. just over a decade ago I had my whole lower left side teeth pulled. I always could sense whatever it was seemed to be tied into my jaw and left eye. Just that whole chain of muscle aggrevated. Also, 7 years ago I broke my clavicle on the left side, further aggravating that chain of muscles. Next thing I know I'm having tons of pain, can't stand up straight to save my life, and I'm not breathing properly. I catch myself all the time taking shallow breaths. I'm SO going to the dentist and getting some implants ASAP. I tried biting down on the end of a marker (I cleaned 😆), and what do ya know.. I instantly started feeling better. I can't believe I found this video today. What awesomeness!!

Wow, this is truly fascinating. I went through jaw surgery a year ago, and I'm finding that while it fixed a lot of things, my body still needs to adapt and move forward with my new physiology. This connection between the jaw and the hip makes sense, in this case I've had an unsafe vestibular system for 8+ years! I'm back in alignment with my jaw now, but now the rest of my body needs to be retrained to feel safe in the proper position. What a trip! Gotta convince the body it's okay now...
@antonvannelli9085
@antonvannelli9085 Жыл бұрын
Jaw is important, absolutely as mentioned and as he showed. But if the brain can not sense the glutes appropriately and the sequence of the glutes being primary in hip extension is incorrect, it is extremely difficult to solve hip flexor issues for good. As he mentioned, it is multi-factoral, but you can test this yourself. When bridging (or even flexing the glutes), does the brain engage hamstrings first? Glutes? Hip flexor? Etc? What the brain uses and loads is extremely important to understand in regards to your own programming. The same goes for the quads/arches/abdominals/obliques/pecs/rhomboids etc etc. If the brain can not sense it appropriately (or does not trust it) we will almost always have issues. Hope this helps! If you want to read more, google atheq system and research/read as much as you like!

I had to have a prosthetic ear implant in my right ear as I was born deaf in that ear. The surgeon told my parents that he'd knicked nerve but no worries, I'd just have some taste issues for a while and the nerve would heal itself. It kind of did, I do experience taste now but it's not the same as the other side and I usually swallow on one side. The opposite left ear, jaw, neck, and same side right hip all chronically hurt. I also have a very lazy left eye...

I'd love to see information on the role of connective tissue in this. Connective tissue plays a huge role in sensory processing, especially vestibular and proprioception. If your connective tissue is ridiculously tense and riddled with restrictions that is not only going to restrict movement and range of motion, it can also distort sensory information as it's traveling to the brain.

@AllenL2R Right now I’m focusing on proper tongue posture and wearing my stint/retainer that I was given after my braces were removed years and years ago. The natural position of my jaw was to the right, I would always chew on the right side, resulting in lots of tightness. For the longest time I had no idea of the importance of jaw and tongue positioning, and the way this carries over throughout the muscles in the entire body(hips, spine, shoulder blades, etc).

I feel like after braces my upper teeth are pushed too far back so my normal chewing happens with my lower jaw also pushed back to match the bite. It feel like my mandibular wants to be more forward than what's possible. And I've had vestibular issues for 8 years now..

This is insane, I have kerataconus in my left eye which means im legally blind in my left but my right is relatively normal enough to function in everyday life. My body shifts towards my right but once i covered up my right eye I felt my hip shift towards my left side.

I got all my top & bottom teeth removed on the left side during my teen time. I still remember that my right & left legs became uneven for a while & it’s very obvious when standing & walking. Now at the age of 55 many hip, leg & foot got problems when if I’m sitting too long or not doing my stretching or exercise. Please advice since my left side don’t have any teeth what should I do? Do I need to create something to bite on since I’m not wearing any denture?

How would you address a client who has all the issues? : teeth and jaw misalignment, vision problems, herniated discs, bad diaphragm function + hernia of the stomach into the diaphragm, the tight muscles in the whole body. There’s just so many problems at once that affect each other, no matter what therapies I try I don’t see progress. So I’ve spent Tens of thousands of dollars probably 30 grand so far and I’m still just as messed up as I was

I’m not claiming this is an answer. I have similar issues. Try very cold showers, 2-5 minutes either once, or maybe even twice a day. Helps with inflammation, and gives an immediate relief. Helps for sleep aswell. And immune system. Just try it. - Personally I combine that with lots of stretching, and, if possible, pressing hard on my own muscle knots via creative solutions. Then cold shower. Periodically, I get much better, then again, my condition is due to constant construction noise / stress, for years. Anyhoo, Just a bro tip.

I have worked with clients with all of the above, though the vision issues are not something I work on directly (though blurry vision that comes with stress is often linked to nervous system state). I had one client who had spent similar amounts by the time they met me in regards to their chronic low back issues. Unfortunately your story is more common than you think. You are right, it is overwhelming to even know where to start. I do 100% agree with Conor though, that it does absolutely start with the brain and reprogramming systems. Check out atheq system on google and read multiple articles in the blog section. You may find them helpful. As always, do your own research and never take anyone's word for it!

My third molars, wisdom teeth, are pulled on the left side not the right side, could that be the reason why my left side of my body is allways overused and having a certain sense of tense compared to the right side wich still feels okay and spot on, it even seems to be having a negative for left and positive effect for right. It all started in the months after they were pulled.

Okay, so I got a hyperkyphosis with muscle pain on the left. Could it be due to a left aic pattern? Or due to a tight right hipflexor or something diaphragma-related?
