My kitties check on me when I'm crying or sick. They make sure that weird noise isn't me dying and when they reassure themselves, they get distracted by something else. I appreciate the checkup even if they don't stay.

Our cat, Greg, always checks up on us when we're in the bathroom! He's fascinated by the toilet flushing & jumps up on the seat & watches the water swirling around! Also, a lot of the time, he comes in & uses his litter tray (which is in the bathroom) at the same time as I'm sitting on the throne! 😹

I’m filled with gratitude that I have two wonderful cats, Boki and La Reina! They love each and easily assimilated into their home. I have been lucky throughout my life to have wonderful cats that really transitioned only after 15-17.5 years!

It was a bummer for me and my two cats. One 15-month grey tabby, he died on May 5, 2022, and then the 3 1/2 year old orange tabby male also was lost, likely by coyotes or hawks after many years. Only my one grey tabby "Tabbytha" stayed indoors and is still alive at about six or seven years old. Please be careful in Arizona when hoping to keep your cats alive.

@@peoplehavetherights Well, I haven’t been completely honest. My first dog as a kid, Hi-Ball, was killed by a drunk driver on our street. My parents took me out of school oil that day. Years later. I got another dog, Tiger who I love greatly. When I came home from college after several years, he went bonkers. But my parents had him chained to his dog house and some horrible neighbors, poisoned him. And also, my first Abyssinian, Sebastian, was killed by coyotes….he was the first cat I let out due to the structure of my house, it was easy for him to get out. And finally, I immediately got another Abyssinian, Cleo who transitioned from a renal disease after only 3years. This all dates back to 2001. Since then, I have had 2 cats that lived happily for 15-17 years, and now to wonderful and loving cats that have been with me for over 6 years. They complete my happiness daily.

Our youngest (Romeo) had a serious fascination with the bathroom faucet. He loved playing with the water n sticking his head underneath. 😂 It really was the funniest most adorable thing. 🥰

My cat loves to check in on me, yell at me if I'm gone too long, and yes, he loves "bathroom time". When I take a shower I see a paw under the curtain to play in the water (I make sure it's not the soapy water of course!)

I have cerebral palsy basically a stroke down the left side. It means I walk slowly with a limp. Our cat follows me to the bathroom and then leads me back to my spot. He doesn't do this with any other family member. But for a cat going to the bathroom is considered dangerous it's the time you may be attacked in the wild. So my cat thinks it's his duty to provide protection for the " big disabled cat " in his tribe. Once im settled in my seat he'll stay a short while like saying "you stay put and don't attempt to go anywhere without me" . Once he's convinced I will be staying put he goes on with his day. It blows my mind how protective he is of me. He's quite convinced everyone else in the house can fend for themselves. He also comes to me in the morning for food nipping my hands gently. He does this knowing I'm a light sleeper and my husband is a heavy sleeper. But it's my husband who feeds him in the morning. So it's really the cat saying " Im hungry can you wake up dad?" Which I do. He really knows us . His interactions are tailored to our differences. That we are big strange cats to him is so adorable. He used to have a fit when we had baths. I think he thought we were torturing ourselves. Only after much reassurance before, during, and after did he decide we weren't hurting ourselves. He still thinks we are crazy to use water instead of our tongues but he just shrugs "Big cats being weird again, oh well "

I have a DSH tortie that is a cuddle bug and a NFC mix who just likes to sit near me, never a lap cat. I love them both. My tortie I got as a kitten and my NFC mix I got when she was 1 and I was her 3rd owner. Her first owners claimed she had many behaviors, but she has had none si ce I've owned her. It also took her over a year for her to know she was never going back to the shelter.

Lol when I adopted my adult cat last year, she was exploring and jumped straight up onto the bathroom counter. So I turned on the water thinking she'd be interested, but she ran away and never went back. I don't think she likes faucets.

My adopted cat likes to walk around the house. If I'm in the living room, she will come down from the bedroom and then go up again after a period of time. But she likes to sleep in my room and when it's night time, she will most likely to sleep on my desk and in the morning she will sleep on my belly or on the other pillow next to me 😊

Our orange cat will regularly sit on a stool next to me while I am on my laptop at the table. Just sits there looking off into the distance, occasionally looking at me. We call him Pup-pup because he is the largest of our 5 cats. He has a more elegant real name, but for privacy reasons I will not share it here.
