Well, my Goodman Heat Pump is still cooling and heating after 18 yrs, never a problem. I ordered it from an online co, and picked it up in York, Pa. I did install a hard start capacitor, added to the regular cap. That's what they recommended.

Unfortunately the main reason seniors can’t hear is because Medicare doesn’t pay anything towards hearing aids, and if you need 2, you’re talking $6k out of pocket…most can’t afford that 😢😢😢
@Samlol23_drrich11 ай бұрын
I understand they make over-the-counter hearing aids now that are a small fraction of that price. A good way to ruin an industry is to have Medicare start to pay. Then they'll pay for only some brands and some providers. The government ruins everything they touch

Ruud/Rheem HVAC is good equipment. I have a Rheem water heater that has worked without issues for over 10 years but some late model Rheem water heaters have a defective thermostat. Steve has replaced a few of those.
@agostinodibella993911 ай бұрын
I like how the four side covers on the Rheem / Ruud condensers come off with one screw a piece. It makes the fins so easy to clean. I use a shop vac first, then rinse off with the hose.

The stock Goodman fan in our system is 845RPM; when it dies, any harm in using a 1075 RPM motor (similar amp draw) ?
@jimw755011 ай бұрын
The horsepower change ratio (HP1/HP2) is equal to the cube of the speed change ratio (n1/n2)3 so horsepower changes a lot relative to just a little speed change. (1075/845)**3 = 2.06. Double the power. Also, the increase in speed could cause the fan blade to fail and damage the coil. My neighbor had a fan blade shred his condenser coil.

When I hear “filler” talk I get nervous…what does a conversation about old people have anything to do with anything…most likely there was not that much to do …in this case the one thing that went bad was the capacitor it shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes to change it…so charge one hour labor plus parts….
