I always found laying detail the hardest part of shading.

Ok cool! With redshift it's pretty the same, just the nodes change names but you can do everything alike.

None of the imported data maps need to be set to RAW?

All of them need to be in raw. Always everything in raw appart for base color > Srgb or rec709. In the tutorial I don't show the switch in raw because I have a color settings rules that applies raw automatically as the maps are in Exr. Sorry for that.

The issue is using Adobe products, that's why your materials look bad

Their is no issue here, what are you talking about? I'm not using adobe product for 3D purposes... Maybe you mean Autodesk? Stop trolling around.
