I had an Iboga ceremonoy just over a month ago, the lesson it shared with me is that the all thoughts are delusion. Basically it was showing me that I had created stories and narratives about myself that weren't true, and then from that place of delusion, I created more and more stories to layer over top over the years, that I was believing a false self based on a delusion to be true, it was all just thoughts. But man, did it feel real to me. Now I'm able to notice those thoughts as stories, and my identity isn't made up of all these stories.

The self is an illusion so the thoughts you thought you were creating were just happening. Free will has been debunked which means the self is just a witness and that pretty much shows that what you think is you is not real. There's more proof that your self is just a bunch of memories though. Everything you see is also a memory and memories are recordings. Recordings are not accurate. Without memory you wouldn't recognise anything. Using MRI scanners to look for the source of self in the brain they found that there is no single part.

the technology of today would already be considered magic a thousand years ago
@freetibet10002 ай бұрын
@@dumblockdubbed2455 Development of technology is not true progress. The development of an understanding of the mind is what denotes true development. Why? Nothing exists beyond mind. Mind is the creator, experiencer and the destroyer of all that is. Anything outside of mind is a mere unverifiable speculation (made by the mind). Everything always loops back to the mind. So, if we want progress we should spend all our efforts on the investigation into the nature of mind. Not just in theoretical and impersonal ways, but through our own living experiences! Upon investigation we come to realise that mind is capable of experiencing and understanding itself. When that starts to happen more regularly and in all walks of life we are starting to become more in tune with both our own being and being more in tune with the connection we have with the reality we project. When mind operates independently of any understanding it projects, reacts and behaves in repetitive and habitual ways that usually give rise to a false sense of self erroneously believing in its own independent existence separated from a perceived external reality. This fixation with identity is rooted in the perceived repetitions of experiences that appears to be confirmations of a static situation, -an independently existing identity with particular personality traits. This is pure fiction! A conjecture projected by the mind as a strategy to deal with incoming perceptions and experiences. The whole point with a fruitful spiritual practice is to uproot all false assumptions that the mind holds about itself and the experiences it encounters. Why? As long as the mind is convinced of false assumptions about reality it will experience all sorts of sufferings, dissatisfactions and misfortunes. It will engage in various forms of deceptive and hurtful actions against others and the world around it. Such a mind will always be in a state of stress, anxiety and pain. Such mind will cause immense pain and suffering to both itself and others. Unfortunately, theoretical understanding isn’t enough. The ignorant mind is pretty skilled in conjuring up all sorts of theoretical concepts about its own nature and origin but rarely brave enough to embark upon a journey of true transformation that will put an end to all false speculations and assumptions. This is where genuine spiritual practice becomes the only real option if we are convinced of the need for such a revolutionary transformation in our lives. Such genuine traditions still exists in this world today. Traditions that have proven to be completely effective in facilitating the skilful means needed to transcend the ignorance of the human mind and deliver the sort of inborn realisation that is inherently embedded in the minds eternal potential.

You have to think about divisions of the brain as being allegorical truths, these are conceptually true ideas that allow us to understand how our brain works in a way that makes sense to the human mind. I'll give you an example: An electrician is taught how to read a schematic or diagram using the Conventional Flow model which states electricity is moving from positive to negative. An electrical engineer would look at that same diagram through the Electron Flow model which states, electrons are negatively charged and move from negative to positive. From a quantum physicist's perspective, neither of these models is entirely accurate and the electrons are barely moving at all and the energy is moved through the field created by the interaction of electrons. These models successfully understand the different principles of electricity but don't necessarily paint the full picture. We use allegory, metaphors, and aphorisms to convey conceptual truths to better understand basic concepts. Humans have been doing this long before we could write. We use oral traditions, and stories to create immersion and pass down vital information through the generations, this is how our brain works. The reality is, that our brain is so ridiculously complex and in many cases, the systems that comprise our brain are very abstract and play many roles. Think that our brain has one hundred-ish billion neurons with five thousand-ish connections between each neuron that are firing trillions upon trillions of electrochemical signals a day, this is just mind-boggling complexity. We need to simplify information by breaking it down into digestible chunks that allow us to share these "chunks" or learn particular concepts that are only necessary for the student and their particular need of understanding.
@ArtificiallyAware2 ай бұрын
@tylercoombs1 Love this breakdown! It’s like peeling back layers of an onion to get to the core of understanding. So, if these models are simplified truths, how do you think they shape our perceptions? Are we ever truly grasping the full essence of anything with our limited frameworks?

A "Perspective" from the other side: I have complete aphantasia. I have absolutely no "mind's eye." This video makes almost absolutely no sense to me. That is, beyond a loose metaphor. The idea of a roadmap of life - expectations, based on experiences, guiding where you should go, and telling you that you're doing well, giving you confidence - is just a metaphor to me. I don't understand that. I don't have a voice telling me expectations or imagination showing me things. And if I take mushrooms, my vision doesn't change at all. Seriously. I got tired of trying to "see" things. This video is a top down processing and understanding of reality that people with aphantasia don't "see". I have complete bottom up understanding and can only see what's in front of me. I cannot overlay expectations on a deep level. I figure everything out in the moment that I'm looking at it and only live right now. I've explained this inability to overlay expectations to a friend who gasped. She gasped with her hands on her mouth and said "OHMYGOD you see reality!" This is deeply troubling. When I talk to people, with a completely bottom up processing of sensory information, some have a hard time following my observations and coming to terms with direct perception. Before learning of aphantasia, I obtained degrees in Philosophy and Rhetorical Theory in trying to understand why people do things the why they do. Why I didn't understand decisions based on the perception of people around me. This doesn't make sense to people with complete aphantasia on fundamental levels. Just saying. Because the idea that you all can do this and I can't is deeply troubling for me. I always wanted to hallucinate. 😂

@@ArtificiallyAware Short answer: Yes. Long answer: I do creative prompt engineering with chatGPT. I'm current working on some interesting ideas in game design theory and have a working Unity prototype game. And I minored in creative writing at UC Berkeley. Once upon a semester, in a class for creative writing, under the architecture department (for some reason), where the only requirement we had was "write a two page story and then share and discuss the work each week," I was told by my professor: "I don't know what you're doing, but I see others trying to copy you." I write sentences like that. With no trouble. I speak with deliberate intention, in the moment, and see language with a complete Derrida-esque deconstructed sign. I'm always trying to figure out the meaning of words so I can effectively communicate. But at the time, I had no idea what my professor was referring to, because I'm always just trying to figure how everyone is doing everything -- like write coherent sentences. So I at least try to make them "complete," because I have no expectation or contextual frame of reference of how things "should be."

Sorry, I could have been more specific: Have you experimented with graphic art? I mean, being unable to imagine a concrete image might be a significant obstacle when it comes to creating images that don’t exist.
@xcellintlee2 ай бұрын
I can but it's just very hard doing anything more complex than basic shapes while it making it up. I can do rough sketching where I can finally make something. I can copy pictures very well if I want to spend time copying every detail. I did this and a kind of free drawing when younger, but I don't try to draw like that anymore. Currently, I'm drawing out various complex branching level designs. Something where paths can be opened and closed so the same level can be repeated in several routes. I keep making variations until I find something that works. I haven't found it yet but every mistake helps me make the next layout better. But it's not about the "art," it's about the layout, because it's just squares and lines on a paper. The pages looks very basic with shapes for layout but means more in my mind. My mind works with what can best be described as verbal scaffolding. I can translate those words to images, but it's a lot easier to draw things I know like a building layout, not an imaginary scene. Drawing a cartoon scene is very hard and I don't even want to think about how to. What I would want characters to look like? I would have to be able to verbal describe the details of the drawing to visualize what should be drawn. Nothing is automatically created as to what characters should look like. But thinking about the layout of a large facility and drawing it sounds easier because I've been working inside the project for so long that's my brain really wants to relate everything to it. It's my one focus.

Your brain makes it exist with the rods and cones that sends signals to the brain. Specifically the ones that pick up red and green wavelengths. So then what is the nature of reality without my brain to warp it into what it wants reality to be, or what it thinks reality is? Well reality as we know it is just... energy. Floating in a field. We don't even know what this energy looks like btw. We just understand it as a nucleus and tiny balls of something orbiting around it. And they say it doesn't even look like that. He said this makes you confront your reality. How the brain body react in the environment. These are some of the things that was said. Now, highly vibrational individuals would look at this and observe some interesting things. The way this podcast is made it makes you really think which is beautifully challenging. What ever do you mean ? Soo, I thought he was going to show how we were taught how to believe things that we see with eyes that is NOT really there, but it's an illusion that you make up because you are thinking what you see in front of you you are seeing it with your eyes and this is not true at all. Let's look at how we see. This is indispensably essential that you understand what we been knowing for 1,000 of years when a Muslim corrected a Greek philosopher on how we see / perceive the world in our minds. Soo, I ask you how do you see? You say that's a silly question I see with my eyes. That's the illusion/ delusion it starts right there. Wrong , wrong, wrong . Well what's right then you tell us. Say you look at a box, the photons of that box strikes the lens of your eyes this lite is carried back where it is flipped upside down on the retina at that point that light is changed into electrical signal that the occipital nerve where it interpreted and then sent to the five Senses to let you know what you saw. The act of seeing takes place in the brain not at your eyes. Now, this takes some getting your mind to believe all of your life you have been thinking that what you observe every day is brought about by your eyes , now you find out that that's an illusion. I don't know whether this podcast when it talks about understanding things that you have been told that's just not true and you accept them in your mind they become blockages, these self sabotaging beliefs could have been download when we were kids, or believed before 35 yrs old. See, concluding this illusion that we unobservably never question or made a contrast in your life , you mean you look at one side of the picture and take that as the truth WITH OUT contrasting it against it likeness. So for example you are a buddist you believe in it , the how could
@ImanIddinАй бұрын
I want to finish my comment. If I'm a buddist I believe it HOW do I know I got the best if I don't measure/ study other religions that's just and example. If I have a professional football team and I say I'm the best HOW can i say that not have played no one. Now, I want to make a point on something that essential for you to know with this information and knowledge you can began to raise your vibrational frequency just by studying this strange truth. Point , just as we are now educated ( remember every time you learn something new you Make 1200 to 1400 new connections in your brain. Just as the brain tell us what we see. Well guess what, the other 4 senses you also see in your mind. Now, so the Quantum model is applying and that is it's no external world, there is no out their , out there INDEPENDENT of what's inside of your mind. What you call a external world is matter being Perceptionally shown to you by your brain. So rightly so the only reality that exists for the human being that he / she is in the mind where it is formed, created, and made there. Break those chains that bind your mind. This world is a illusion/ delusion. Remember, the lack of knowledge is the lack of power.

I don’t think imagination and reality are intertwined like tree roots. I don’t think Salvador Dali or MC Esher would have been able to carry on a conversation if that was the case. You know for sure is what you have Observed / Experienced. Everything else you’ve “learned” someone told you, or in book and you’re taking their word for it. And you will feel a bit unbalanced when you realize your teachers were deceived, and their teachers were deceived, and their teachers were deceived. if you’re brave enough to admit, you’ve been fooled. Maybe the art of war is miss titled or miss translated. Maybe in original language it was the art of conflict or the art of living. And I’m not married to any of these ideas. But yourself know your enemy. And I would add know your history.
@ArtificiallyAware2 ай бұрын
@kitchfairman5043 That’s a compelling perspective! But if reality isn't rooted in imagination, where do you think creativity fits in? Is it deception or a deeper understanding of existence? And about the historical context-how do we separate true history from the narratives crafted by those in power? Let's dig deeper!
@kitchfairman50432 ай бұрын
@@ArtificiallyAware In English, creativity is perceived as making something out of nothing. When in reality we are just manipulating the same elements and or ideas. To "Produce or Generate" something usually requires a need or desire not being met. Along with some of our attention and free time we can produce a different perspective, or an unfamiliar idea. But it's all been done before, just not experienced the same from one to another. This perception with people/ culture, and also with time/generations, and there life experience shapes what we have perceived as reality. But I wouldn't say reality is rooted in experience either. But for me personally, my perspective is far more influenced by experience than my imagination or thoughts I come up with. We are as creative as we want to be. What inspires or motivates someone to focus on meeting a need or desire, I believe is different from person to person. Humans are emotional and unpredictable. Even though we all have the same basic needs. Food water, shelter, etc.. We are all as individual as our fingerprint. I could go on about unity, and division, and the plans of the institutions. How most agree on what is good and evil, yet we continue to conflict with one another when the conflict should be from within. And I think most people today do seem not to have the free time to focus or pay attention. "Your attention is the finest currency one can pay." John Levi . And then there's always an awful lot of distractions, That often cause production by accident. Like a hot chick you stayed the night with, produced offspring! And the hours I have spent responding to The attention you paid me. If everybody thought we are here to serve one another, then 80% of my workload would be lifted and I would have more free time to ponder and attempt to manipulate ideas and elements. Maybe solve the worlds problems. But instead we have been indoctrinated to serve a manipulated economy . And this is nothing new! Adam Smith wrote a book in 1776 called The wealth of Nations. It describes a global economy, And from his writings it seems that this global economy was there before he was born. And we are taught it was a horse and buggy culture living by candlelight in 1776. And then electricity has always been here? But we are to believe we just harnessed it. And two correct my first comment , The book The Art of War, "Know thyself, Know thy enemy. We are encouraged or indoctrinated to embrace those distractions and not ever get to know ourselves. A skilled enemy will take everything of value and be halfway around the world before you even realize you got robbed. "And he who controls history or the past controls the present. And he who controls the present controls the future". For decades, I thought if we just went back to a gold standard 90% of our troubles would be behind us. Or at least less manipulated. But now I know the conflict is within. I'm pretty sure if we spent 12 years of our adolescence focusing on knowing ourselves we would have a much different world. But instead we chase mediocracy in circles convinced we/ academia knows everything. And the people trying to point this out are called conspiracy theorists when Adam Smith's book is hard evidence. It is not a theory.
@ArtificiallyAware2 ай бұрын
@kitchfairman5043 Wow, that's a deep dive into perception and the layers of what we call reality! If creativity is just remixing known elements, does that mean true innovation is merely a rehashing of the past? And when it comes to knowing ourselves, are the distractions really all that powerful, or is it our own choice to be swept away? History may tell us one story, but what if the real narratives lie in our willingness to reflect?
@kitchfairman50432 ай бұрын
@@ArtificiallyAware What exactly would you call innovation? I'm only 50 years in, but I don't think we have ever witnessed progress in my life time. The buildings that are 200-2000 years old tell me there was a much more progressive and educated culture here before. And do we really have a choice from those distractions when we are forced into Parochial education at 5 years old? That is known as brainwashing or indoctrination, And I would go on to say child abuse and crimes against humanity. Sure, we still have free will but you do not know you are in a box until you get out. You do not know you are dreaming until you wake up, so I do believe reflection is important but also community! You have to share your reflections and bounce them off of others. We truly are one, And in our current indoctrinated system a different view often produces and receives hostility. Just look at the international polar year or igy. international galactic years. My mother was told we'd be going to the moon for lunch, and Donald Fagan was told there'd be spandex jackets for everyone. And I believe the scientists were right back in 1957. They were not counting on the money Controllers to hold mankind back, . Look closely. It's the same couple thousand people controlling the money for at least 400 years. Now. Thus, we are indoctrinated to serve this economy. And again , I'm only 50 so I'm pretty new on this journey. But I do believe exploring yourself and the realm are extremely important to personal progress, And the reflection with others produces cultural and maybe even financial progress organically. We have the technology to make a light bulb illuminate over 100 years. Car tires could go a million miles and cars also could be made to go millions of miles, but they say if we built things with generational quality, it would kill the economy... So the people that made those light bulbs could be making houses on the moon, exploring the bottom of the ocean., after everyone had their needs met . To me, That's progress. I've personally seen What is called the very first light bulb ever made. It's been illuminated for over 115 years. I have had astronauts, architects, engineers and very educated people laugh at me, and tell me I don't understand. But supply and demand is extremely simple, and they've been indoctrinated to think humanity's existence is much too complex and deep for any man to grasp, And to mention such is pure arrogance.. But Adam Smith had a global culture/ economy completely figured out 250 years ago. From how many workers in a nation, to how many calories they would need in a day to produce and meat supply and demand. So if there is some institution I should join or another way of wording my frustrations I would love to hear. And again why I am not married to any of my ideas because from my experience nothing changes except people's perceptions.

But again I was coming back To comment on the author that inspired your video and his writings. I wouldn't bother with any academically promoted author published less than 100 years ago. Hi. It’s me again. I had some thought that I’m not smart enough to connect. Hoping you could-if you see more than what I do as usual. Ok. Here it goes : The Egyptians built the pyramids to line up with the sun-not just the stars. THE SUN was important for them. THE CREATOR deity was ATUM OR AHTEM (ATOM??). We RECENTLY used MUON particles because they can go through solid objects. We used them to find hidden shafts-in the great pyramid -we mapped them. WHAT IF THE EGYPTIANS KNEW ABOUT SOLAR FLARES AND PARTICLES AND THE USE OF SUCH ENERGY IN THE MANIPULATION OF MATTER HERE. So they built the pyramids to LINE UP WITH THE SUN TO CONCENTRATE-THE QUARK GLUON PLASMA PARTICLES IMTO THE SHAFTS DURING SOLAR FLARES. ITS STRANGE TO ME. ADAM IN THE BIBLE. ATUM IN EGYPTIANS RELIGION -ATOMS in science. Is it physically possible to CONTAIN or trap quantum particles into structures? If muons were used to map the pyramid recently-because they COULD GO THROUGH WALLS. Then other particles can’t go through solid structures? I don’t have the brain capacity to go beyond this point. I have tried. Hoping AI could finish the puzzle or at least say “this puzzle has pieces that don’t fit- THANKS! (Sorry if this idea is ridiculous). :-( 12:13

Seems very interesting so I thought to share my POV 🙂 I think one problem to answering this is that, from a scientific perspective, we don't really know what particles are. Nevertheless, they seem to be the best theory so far, and some of the particles from the standard model are a pretty direct explanations of a real phenomenon. Others, which require formulating a confusing web of differently "colored" particles and antiparticles, have the rancid smell of a temporary invention that exists only to make the maths work. In any case, the particle accelerator such as the one at CERN could be seen as such a structure to "trap" and harness the power of the so-called elemental particles... I've started investigating Egyptian knowledge very recently so at the moment I don't see any relation between the two topics 🤔 It did strike me as interesting that Atum, Adam, Atom are all names associated to the beginnings, the first forms of manifested reality. Whether this is some kind of a linguistic archetype coded into humans in general, or something deeper, I do not know 😁 Going into speculation mode: language is a translation from a pattern in other forms of energy to a pattern in sound vibration, but a pattern is always a movement with specific properties. Although language can be arbitrary, it makes the most sense that it will associate patterns based on their similarity. For example, A-TAM may represent creation like so: The first A is an undefined reality, a constant of sorts, the primordial chaos... It exists and momentarily dissolves into silence before the next letter. TAM, with the T breaks the silence with a sharp sound, signifying an explosion, the birth of something very different to what was before - but immediately gives way to the A/U/O again, meaning the change is in form but the essence is as in the beginning. The M gives a soft landing to the word, signifying a slower and more stable development in things to come... As said before, this is highly speculative but it makes sense to me lmao

Development of technology is not true progress.

This is great, I thought I was only having this conversation with myself. Watching it again to share my thoughts along the way I see it like this, Reality is the thing our shared and self-serving illusions help us to accept and understand greater. Whether that's the actors on the stage, what goes on behind the curtains in preparation, the audience, the theatre or all these combined I'm not sure. But when self-serving illusions are branded as shared ones this can cause problems, or when shared ones are influenced towards self-serving ones. Feelings can impress us meaningfully, this is rational and rationality can be expressed meaningfully, this is feeling. My point, feelings are the vehicle, rationality is the surface you travel on. But you can have a smooth life yet spend it circling a roundabout, or a short an uneventful life by aiming at the bush in curiosity yet finding a cliff on the other side. So yes a coin spinning but if too slow or fast, you only see one side and the other decays or its blurry and chaotic decaying as a whole. I think most of us live in the past and future and only emerge on occasion to the air of the present just to be pulled back down when we see value in regression or when we cannot resist the regressed elements of reality. The expectations we project in imagination is the beginning of the future, instead of allowing reality to be, we can become disturbed if it doesn't align to these notions as we now can't see what is next. I think memory is the same reversed, so memories are implicit in us and things, acting to preserve what is safe when we fall back into the past we can become disturbed that we cannot escape our cycles. Great book for the idea of understanding you were talking about is Multiple Intelligences by Howard Gardener. We have clumps of neurons around our stomach and heart, and this superhighway of a spine, yet we focus primarily on the brain. The mind is throughout the body, but as the majority of sensory input enter the brain and begins motor output there we forget the distribution and communication between all aspects of the mind. I think we also forget the importance of including and attempting to understand better the voices of our stomach and heart. Is our increasingly malnourished diet and sedentary affecting our mood, discomfort impulsivity? Not sure if self-control being infantile is a bad thing, its underdeveloped in us because it's only very recently that we have been afforded the freedom to attempt to control ourself. If the first 5 years of development of the mind, the environment and people in it cannot provide base mechanisms to regulate emotion, provide needs that allow curiosity and play to reign as we mature then self-control is rarely on the table. I believe if we can share self-control in close relationships this won't be an issue as we develop self-control further. Isolation breeds a corrupted and distorted self-control, co-operation cleans this. Just look at powerful people who lose grip with reality as they distrust people or surround themselves with people of a similar demographic only. Long-winded but a thought provoking video, if there's even one thing that interests any one would love to hear it
