I think the funniest instance of "I'm looking for them to do something else" therefore getting distracted by the thought of it is; "No way they're gonna command grab the third time." And then they do it 💀

I had a friend tell me that I do options twice, then this video popped up to be uploaded 😭 and my mentality is exactly what i had at the part of where you talked about "If they block this, then I can't do that" I had too much of it tbh, its a very harmful mentality and it leads to (imo) bad pressure because you're scared to even change up options, bad decision making because you're sooooo involved in thinking about what they are/aren't gonna do, but then again there are people that have strengths that they build on that you can still crack... I'm so glad i had to watch this video, i think its a wake up call :) Thx Rath (if i feel like i sounded toxic im just speaking from experience)

The point you made about not taking risks and thinking your opponent's gonna react to everything you do and punish you, is so true. I used to think this way and I noticed I was playing worse than I usually play. Really helpful video, Rath.

You see, it's not the first IAD overhead that gets you. Or the second. It's that third one. That one that you thought "no way they're gonna do it again".

Always and only playing it safe is exactly what I did when starting out in Tekken. My thought was that if I only play safe then my opponent cant ever punish me at all, which obviously didn't work out that well. As someone who still flowcharts at times it can still be difficult to properly cycle through all my options but just recognizing this issue helped me improve alot already. I'm sure this video will be a nice wake-up call for some people!

I love nothing more than when I see a video like this and it describes something I do to a T. calling my opponent's God's (nott really believing it, but alternating between that and figuring I'm signaling my thoughts in some really obvious way) when I only have like 1 pattern I stick to lol. This was the exact thing in my notes to work on after this week's local so wonderful timing and thanks for this video. Really needed it!

Easily earned a sub my dude. Im always a risk taker simply because i just wana see if this works or that works. Its always fun doing random things to see if people react well or not, even getting punished from doing random things can be funny at times 😅. I was like that when i first started on dbfz, always mentally down playing myself. Alot more confident nowadays though

For some reason it’s the opposite for me. If I underestimate or properly estimate someone, I end up doing worse. When I see them as a god, I go try hard on my neutral, blocking, and mixups; taking a healthy amount of risks. How I play also has a lot to do with how I’m feeling that day. One day I can fight a LL and struggle, the next month I can win a set against someone who goes to tournaments, and is top 1000 in ranked without any practice in between. I’m inconsistent, and I’ve accepted that. But, I really appreciate the outlook you gave on being prepared for multiple options. I’ve missed your content; I wish I could see your streams, but a full-time job and college makes life really stressful. Sorry for ranting

I like to go off a rule of two with mix ups. Even something simple like in mark of the wolves two cLK into dunk with rock Howard. By the second kick people will recognize they’re lows. Normally you can get a reppuken for a solid ender but every time I’ll always do a dunk first even though it’s not a combo because people always duck after getting hit by these expecting a third. You should always try twice. Because it’s just human nature to catch on before three and that will catch them off guard.

12:26 this is currently my biggest weakness as a player. Just last night in City of Mayhem I used a setup with Hit that made me +8 and in boils down to being a overly complex safe jump. Anyway, I expected my opponent to know that so I went for a 2l expecting him to know he was that negative and..... I got 5Ld by the almighty UI Goku lol. I really need to kill the habit cause it causes me to lose the most amount of games currently.

This was super helpful and surprisingly scientific haha. I got to Living Legend in FighterZ recently but admittedly mix up is something I still struggle with, mainly because I tend to forget that stagger pressure is a thing haha. I think my defense is my saving grace though, since even if I need 2 touches to kill the opponent and they only need one to kill me, it's another story if they have a harder time opening me up than I do with them.

Sounds like we're gonna try to be random ~But amidst conditioning the opponent or w/o repeating a like or similar option twice🤔
@RathFGC3 жыл бұрын
Sometimes being random means you'll use the same option more than once, just like how a coin can flip and be heads multiple times in a row. We just want to make sure we are willing to use all of our options sometimes and try to limit auto piloting as much as possible :)
@rodimusprime86163 жыл бұрын
@@RathFGC ohh i gotche This way the more we use other options than the base ones from almost autopiloting, the more likely we could be more creative in the pressure neutral / reset area. This way its like option A doesn't even get repeated right away?

Try to be random
@RathFGC3 жыл бұрын
Have a structured set of options of you know compliment each other and make sense for the situation, but try to be random about which one of those options you choose :)
