As of right now, I use khan academy to study on the weekdays in the afternoon. For some reason I’ve been making the same mistakes over and over to the point where my math score won’t go up on practice tests.

I identify my mistakes, but I am not sure if I am doing it correctly. I look at the question that I get wrong and I try and analyze why it is wrong, and what I should do the next time to improve. I just can't be aware during the test to prevent myself from making those mistakes, since my mind is on the question, not the mistakes. Most of my mistakes are in the reading section, the most arbitrary section on the SAT. That arbitrary characteristic is the same for my analysis for the problems that I get wrong in that section. I just don't know how to make the solutions a one size fits all/more concrete solution. Reading slower doesn't help, being aware that I lose focus doesn't help. And no, I am not lazy. I started off studying for the SAT 9 months ago consistently, then realized that straight practicing isn't helping much up to a point. Then I realized that analyzing would help, but that also stops my improvement at a point. For context, I am in the 1400-1440 range atm. The problem could be beyond SAT prep, which could stem from my fiendish desire to grind. You might be able to guess the problem.

My reading + writing score is stuck at a 670-ish score and I need to get over 700 to get a 1500... I correct my mistakes but I keep making mistakes because none of the questions are the same. Any tips?

Though the questions aren't identical, they generally fall into certain categories. On the reading, some of the common question types are main purpose/main idea, evidence, words in context, inference, author relationships, etc. Check out this video for some tips: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eqLMgpqPmqx0iqM. I will be releasing another in-depth reading video soon, so be on the lookout for that. On the writing section, you'll first want to identify and fix the grammar questions. Are you making any careless mistakes? Are you considering enough of the context? These are good questions to ask as you're reviewing.

I just started to study SAT, and I've been studying it for like two months. However, my score is keep dropping like 40 or 50 every time I take the full test. Is it ok to leave it and focus solving the problems or should I do something to stop it?
@PrepwithJen3 жыл бұрын
You'll want to evaluate how you're studying. Are you simply taking practice tests and hoping for the best, or are you taking the time to analyze each of your mistakes and then working to master those principles? If you're doing the latter, then eventually your scores should improve

@@PrepwithJen I try to review all the practices and memorize vocabularies from them, but my score does not increase. Is there any study routine that you wanna recommend?
