I combined several of these ideas from this series into my Sunday school lesson yesterday. It seemed to have a deeply healing impact on many people. I am always grateful for your wisdom and insight and dedication to feeding our souls. Thanks!

Thank you, John, for a powerful episode, and thanks to the Become New community for sharing these Withered Hand stories. As a 12-stepper, I hear many stories and share a few of my own. Together, in those meetings, we hurt, heal, help each other, and learn how to grow through the pain of our past, present, and future. We work to put the past in perspective, to handle the present in a healthy way, and to lay plans for a future that allows us to live better than we did before. Sacred wounds are God’s reminders that we are not alone in our suffering, that we are loved and understood in our deepest pain. They are places where His grace reaches in, teaching us humility, compassion, and reliance on His strength. Sacred wounds show us that the pain we endure can become a source of growth and healing, not just for ourselves, but as a gift we can share to help others. These wounds, though difficult, are pathways that draw us closer to God, revealing His presence even in our brokenness.

“Sacred wounds”, thank you Jesus. Each episode speaks to my heart, to my life. This episode though is a healing balm in my season of revealing my own broken heart. Grateful to the Lord for always being with me.

Thank you so much for this. While my life has had some great difficulties and pain, I know I would never have leaned so hard on God had it not been that way. He truly brings beauty from ashes. John and Nancy, you both sharing your heartache and vulnerability have most certainly impacted more hurting people and brought more glory to God than if you had not turned this into something which bears much fruit for the kingdom of God. When Cooper ran away and you spoke about it, then when you said "Come Home" it brought me to tears. Not just that I have people I want to come home, but Jesus says to us COME HOME. God Bless You Both.
