Why YouTube on TV is blowing up

Could there *please* be more discussion on creating the option to opt out of "Shorts" from mobile devices if not the web too...? It completely ruins the KZbin experience for so so many people, it's mostly reversed footage with the owner's watermarks blurred out and a complete distraction on both mobile and web. At least make it an option for the paid Premium members like myself, who use KZbin for education, research, and something to listen to daily while on the treadmill or during a walk. Please.

The problem with YT on TV is that it's becoming just like broadcast TV with an unsustainable level of advertising. Sure, you can get YT premium but then you're still stuck with "sponsor segments" (ugh!) and YT Premium would cost us more than Prime Video or Netflix here in New Zealand which doesn't seem right... given that most of the content is user-generated.

Please allow us to blacklist AI videos or force creators to disclose its use in the title. It's not hard to see that this content is plaguing this site and god knows what's it going to be like in five years. I'm only interested watching something made by creators who are passionate and willing to put the extra effort in, not being duped by AI nonsense.

Our percentage of viewers on TV is up to nearly 60%. I’ve been encouraging this in my live streams and personally don’t use my TV for anything other than KZbin anymore.

Thank you for this news. I have an idea. You have existing categories like Education, Gaming, How To, etc. Why not a Religion category and break it down into sub directories i.e. Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Islam, Jewish, Other. As you already know these categories have millions of creators & videos, which would make things easier to track the algorithm. We need to have a better viewing experience for Shorts on TV. Im not a huge mobile viewer and when I watch Shorts on a TV/Monitor there is a lot of wasted space. Hope KZbin is working towards a solution!

You destroyed the TV queue. You used to be able to click a video and it would ask you to add to queue but now it just auto adds to queue and starts immediately playing. Causes too many misclicks playing videos I don’t want to play. I’ve put in dozens of feedback about this and they refuse to fix this.

Funny. I look at my history and it is filled with videos I didn't play. I let the mouse hover over thumbnails too long. ( I'll have two monitors running KZbins ). Once in a while I see some racy video in the mix...I just laugh. That's when SWAT busts down the door and you were watching something you'll need to explain to the judge. " That was KZbin! That wasn't me!....I would never do that to a chicken!"

Yet, the subscription tab is still full of shorts that look horrible on that aspect ratio. We need a seperate tab for them like on mobile and desktop, and the TV app needs to catch up in terms of features. It's a terrible experience right now for most users. This needs addressing right now.

Why does algo kill a video with ctr of 5,1% after 1500 impressions when views are steadily very slowly dropping in ? Not only that it kills all my videos , now I even got someone asking about why my channel don’t get more views? Should I just start new channel and dump this one with 149 videos and shorts ? Is anyone else having this problem with long version videos? Or is this really normal practice guys?

( I wanna....be able to pick the type of commercials I don't want to see ) I used wanna and not want so it would sound more dramatic....and necessary.......and would be a call to action. A small amount of commercials are too scammy, or some dude showing his busted up teeth. I turn KZbin off when the wrong commercials come on.

WOWW Thanks a bunch for this awesome feature! I love watching KZbin TV, but it has a few issues that need to be fixed. For instance, I’d love to create a short trailer for my schedule video premieres. I have one video trailer for my calendar 2025 video, but it only plays on laptops and cellphones, not on TVs. I think it’s really important to fix this problem. On Netflix for example they show their trailers why on KZbin TV doesn’t work? Thanks so much guys and happy holidays ❤❤❤

Yep! KZbin TV is actually quite interesting. I can see how KZbin is taking video to the next level. It's a great way to attract audiences with a variety of likings. I personally also enjoy both the television content & KZbin.

I think we might have another explanation. On TV you watch channels with pre-establish shows. On KZbin you chose what you want to watch and when you want to watch it. You do not have the limitations of TV shows. As you are looking at Netflix, you scroll on KZbin app as well to watch your favorit creators / topics. In relation to sports events, on tv channels they are more professional build, in KZbin you watch moment that you enjoyed

Hahaha, just stop! KZbin has nothing to do with TV, point blank period! TV was always a "thing"!!! It's not new and you guys certainly did not reinvent the wheel here! Most people are watching the "internet" on their "big screens" because many of us are getting older and our eye sight is horrible by comparison to our younger years. Television is not what it used to be, a TV screen is not what it once was. The world runs through the internet now, most of us simply view it on a big screen since our "display device" is fully capable now. That is what changed, and no KZbin did not have a hand in that! I see what you're doing here, you've jacked up the price for your TV "service" and now you're trying to convince people that somehow they need to pay you for this outrageously priced thing....!

I totally agree, it has changed the media consumption pattern completely. Now even my parents has shifted from TV to KZbin along with OTT platforms completely. You know just how we used to watch different channels, someone interested in man vs food on tlc are now watching food vlog and mukbang sort of videos, people interested in reality kinda shows watch vlogs and Mr beast kind of channels and many more to count. So yes KZbin is leading on our tv screens!
