ZKK is a fine theory. The only other characters who can kill Kaidou narratively are Momo, Yamato, Big Mom, and Black Beard. Zoro might be in the more likely than two of those category at the moment. ZKK isn't a bad theory at all. It's just a weird path for the story to take. It would be a repeat of his possible ancestor and a way for him to be revered as the savior of Wano like Ryuma was, which might be the strongest aspect of the theory.

Not a fan of ZKK, but I will play devils advocate and suggest that we can see a similar situation to what we saw back in TB with Zoro. Luffy and crew all down for the count after finishing off Kaido, but Kaido gets up one last time to try to get Luffy and Zoro (and Sanji most likely) could be the wall that stops him. That situation imo can give the ZZK more of a satisfying conclusion, with Luffy still getting most of the credit and not make Zoro look lame doing it.

This video actually managed to do the opposite for me and bring the idea that Zoro might kill Kaido back to the forefront of my mind. The scenario you set up around the 14 minute mark actually pairs really nicely with the earlier discussion about Kaido not getting a remarkable death/what he sees in Luffy. I can imagine a situation where the Momotaro group brings Kaido to his knees, Kaido fully realizes the potential of Luffy during said fight and begs to be killed by him only for Zoro to swoop in and say something along the lines of "You don't deserve to be killed by the future Pirate King" and cuts off his head. It keeps Luffy hands clean, fulfills Zoro's Ryuma family lineage and gives Kaido an unsatisfying death filled with regret.

To Piggy back off the parallels with Ryuma, I think Morj's missed some important details. 1. Ryuma killed a (Western Dragon) with Shusui... Zoro also killed a (Western Dragon) with Shusui in Punk Hazard. 2. Oden scarred Kaido (EASTERN DRAGON) with Enma... Zoro acquires Enma and scars Kaido (EASTERN DRAGON). What Zoro does seems tied to repeating the feats of the Swords. Shusui' feat was repeated; Enma's feat was repeated; he needs a Sword without feats to create his own legacy, thus why Nidai Kitetsu was introduced it seems. There's a pattern here supposedly. In essence, Zoro killing a Dragon due to Ryuma killing a Dragon already happened, therefore, he's unlikely to kill Kaido. Zoro also killing Kaido would more or less be touted as Zoro defeating Kaido... Luffy's role is to defeat Kaido, so as Morj said, if Kaido's to die, it would be after he's defeated, after Luffy's been given credit, and therefore, his death can't be attributed to Zoro anymore. It would be something that'd realistically happen post Wano. As Jay D. Legend said... "SENSATIONAL". 👏👏

@@logical1396 You have to understand that Luffy is the main character of the story. One Piece is the name of the so called treasure that one must obtain to become the Pirate King. Now tell me, who wants to be the Pirate King? I understand that we often see very little interactions between Zoro or Sanji with the main villain, but Wano was different. Zoro had really big moments, he did more than Kidd or Law per example. You cant expect Zoro to now deliver life threatening blows to Kaido when Luffy himself is barely able to do it, and he has more stuff in his arsenal. Its a really poor writing decision.

A Brazilian guy that I watch has a theory that Zoro would cut one of Kaido's horns. This would be a badass moment for Zoro and a dishonorable momento for Kaido (specially if this "Oni" thing is more explaned and Kaido has some sort of grudge on humans or pride in Onis, with his horn representing this pride), while still letting Luffy get the finishing blow AND not letting Kaido die. I think this would be pretty awesome, specially if it happens as Zoro leads the SH crew.

If Kaido gets back up then that doesn't mean he's defeated then. Either Kaido is down for the count like all of Luffy's boss fights, or Luffy doesn't have it in him to beat kaido and Zoro comes in to kill him. When Luffy gets done with Kaido, that's it. He'll be laid out just like Lucci, Doff, Arlong, etc. Luffy tends to put bosses to sleep. Kaido will be no different, unless you believe Kaido will get up, which means Luffy didn't actually defeat him then.

Playing devil's advocate for a moment, can Kaido be left alive at the end of Wano? If he is, who's going to stop him once the Straw Hats are gone? Wano has no-one that can, and the Marines have proven multiple times they are incapable of holding, let alone killing, him. So Kaido has to die to keep him from picking right back up where he left off. Because he won't stop just because he's beaten. So who's going to kill him? Luffy? Luffy doesn't kill anyone. That's well established. Yamato? Possibly, but we still don't know enough about her character to know if she would really be able to go through with killing her own father or not. That only leaves Zoro. You say that having him do it would be pathetic and the lowest point for Zoro's character, but remember what he said top King: "...Who knows, by the of this...I might be the one tearing your throat out with my teeth. Anything to ensure I win this fight!!!" Killing Kaido would be about necessity. And if Zoro sees that, and sees that he's the only one capable of, and willing to kill him, why wouldn't he take that on himself as Luffy's right-hand? No, it's not honorable. But sometimes, necessity wins.

Bingo. There are a couple possibilities that Kaido can be removed from the picture without killing (Luffy breaks Kaido's spirit to become pirate king, just like Kaido does it to others, so it'd be a nice reversal; or maybe dr vegapunk finally made a special prison out of which kaido can't escape; or maybe fujitora and green bull arrive and behead Kaido). But these are all kinda far-fetched. The easiest solution to Kaido needing to be killed is Zoro killing him. And unlike how Morj made a strawman out of it, it won't necessarily be dishonorable either. Kaido's body might be broken and he might be getting ready to fight again, doing it so pathetically that Luffy doesn't even find it worth his time. So Zoro walks in, saying "this was your wish, right?" as Kaido realizes he's NOT getting an honorable death (thereby, defeating the villain of this saga) and Zoro finishes him. That's not dishonorable or underhanded. In this case, Kaido would be proving that he's a menace which wouldn't stop unless killed, and Zoro would simply be ridding the world of this problem. Like, do people think Kaido's way of killing Oden was comparable to Guard No. 2's way of killing Roger? Oden was also tired and at the end of his life. But Kaido shooting him in the head isn't jeered at, and Morj doesn't look down upon Kaido for killing Oden like that. So why does Zoro doing it to Kaido in similar circumstances all of a sudden become so shameful an act? Zoro killing kaido might still be a stupid idea, but it's not one for the reasons Morj says here. He gives pretty weak justifications for that honestly

I assume that doesn't count as aiming specifically for kaido. even though that was him exclusively aiming for kaido, he literally skipped past queen. Also lets be honest when we say zoro kills him after luffy beats him, it suggests that kaido gets up after being unconcious for enough time that wano has acknowleged luffys efforts and that he managed to knock out kaido however he would be exhausted...assuming zoro isnt yet. Kaido is slightly weakened but only due to fatigue and prepares a boro breath or another attack that no one is ready to counter and zoro appears and he and kaido approach and he cuts off kaidos head in a ryuma type of situation. i think a big thing a lot of zkk people are just ignoring is the mink potion and that it’s not just a free heal, it’s explicitly stated that pushing himself after drinking it will leave him in worse shape than he was before, and he is currently fighting king the odds of him taking down king and then also, in the first scenario actually fighting kaido for a prolonged period with his body already destroyed, and in the second scenario, even being able to go up and that whatever time limit or constraint on the potion wouldn’t conveniently run out right after the king fight so that luffy and whoever else up top can finish the fight on their own

Although I'm not totally confident about the theory like many others, I think ZKK can still happen keeping all the points you gave in the video in mind and Kaido could still get a 'bad' death, one he doesn't want. That would be a 'coward's death'. I can see Luffy's fight parallelling Oden's in the sense that Orochi in place of Higurashi takes someone, for example, Tama as a hostage and comes to the rooftop just after Luffy 'beats' him. He still might want to take this opportunity to gain Kaido's trust. Luffy of course will turn back to save her and Kaido again takes that opportunity and commits the same mistake again, diving in for the kill. But this time, Zoro is there. I think this works because: 1) It's a coward's death for Kaido. 2) Zoro is just protecting his captain like he did a lot of the times throughout the war. 3) Luffy gets his to defeat Kaido and potentially break his will to fight fairly. Also, Morj, you missed the panel where Zoro literally said that he'll cut Kaido into pieces. That's key evidence for the theory. Although I'm not a full-on 'ZKK believer'. I do think that the theory does have credence.

@Monkieeeeeee Yeah, if that were the case and there was literally no moral code in the pirate world, people would be fine with Zoro killing an already dead Kaido, but they aren't, and rightfully so. Big Mom literally said that even pirates have a moral compass. Zoro killing him in that scenario does make Kaido a coward. If he didn't feel that it was unfair of him to do that to Oden, he wouldn't have apologised to him for that and kill Higurashi, but he did. Meaning, he did feel that it was unfair.

I think what's funnier is the fact that people think it's going to be a group effort with the entire straw hat crew leading to zoro killing kaido but if you think about it it would be like blackbeard killing whitebeard like when we think back to marineford oda made it very clear that this group effort against whitebeard was not honorable or even worthy of the actions of the future pirate King and his subordinates but we encourage this type of behavior from the person we're certain is going to be the future pirate king and the world's greatest swordsman.

Imagine the scene, the final clash starts, and because of Luffy's and kaido's superior level all things are destroyed and almost no one can continue there watching them, now imagine in thriller bark when everyone is down and Kuma coming to kill Luffy, imagine kaido getting up one last time to kill Luffy just like it seemed katakuri would, now picture Zoro coming with a Shishi sonson and putting kaido in the ground for good (killing or not) and ending this fight, if that is not a great moment I do know what is

Exactly! It doesn’t have to be a bullshit move from Zoro when he’s down. This fight even more than Katakuri will push Luffy beyond than ever before and he could likely pass out right after his final attacks. And like Katakuri Kaido could get up but instead of falling and accepting defeat he could try to attack Luffy and Zoro can kill him for the sake of his captains life again. He could even take a blow and be out for all of Elbaf.

Why don't people just get it already that OP's philosophy of not getting killed is not a moralistic, "good" thing, but a worse-than-death cruelty? Shut up with wanting characters kill each other just because of it already, you have other stories like that. See Death Note, FMA, Detective Conan, SNK, but not this. For godness sake... Come on, guys. We're watching an anime way better than that. In fact, the enemies of the MCs are portrayed as just that inmature: killing so that other potencially dangerous (or already crimminal) people don't have a chance to rebel against them or harm others, to "do bad things", and so that they make... "justice". If you can call it that. They're no exactly better than them just for killing them, you know? In fact, wanting to support this actions makes things worse (as you get corrupted and startr letting yourself do other inhuman, inmoral things... 3:54 Kaido always looks like a pretty fun guy in his dragon form. He automatically seems to gain layers and even humour (or amusement and social competence, of sorts). It's hard to describe, he basically gains a "charm", as that of "creatures".
