Here's a curious story for you. When I was twelve years old, I went to day camp at the local YMCA. We did lots of things, but the highlight was making a round whistle lanyard out of four strands like this. I thought that weave and lanyard was the coolest thing I ever saw and could not wait for this class. Wouldn't you know that I missed the class: it was my only absence of the summer, but I lost the opportunity to learn how to make this cool thing. Now, some sixty years later I bought two books on weaving rope and began fiddling with them. Turning the monkey's fist turned out to be a challenge for me, so I've looked at a number of tutorials to learn that. Serendipity took a hand in my learning when the AI of KZbin brought up this video. I watched it tonight, and tomorrow, I'll tie this lanyard. That's cool to me. Thanks for doing this.

OMG Thank you! I looked up several tutorials and nothing was working for me. I was about to give up when I came across this one. What a simple explanation, it's almost incredible that this works, compared to the other ones. Bless you!

Easy breezy. All you paracord connoisseurs/experts, you know pros*, always do great tutorials. I mixed this 4 strand weave with a couple other weaves and made a pretty cool dog leash, even though I don't have my own dog. lol. Wish I could show it to you. Hmm. Anyway, thanks for the video, as always. Two thumbs up.🖒👍

Great, easy to understand tutorial. I usually plait leather and I find it grips together well. Will the paracord stands in that turks head terminal knot loosen over time?

Really enjoyed making this one, and the knot was very well explained and demonstrated - I seem to struggle normally with getting the knots right (my brain just turns to mush!!) but I managed this one perfectly, admittedly not on my first attempt, but eventually and I'm so chuffed! Thank you for this and all you're other vids, they're great. Best wishes, Kate :-)

what if I wanted to attach the end to a split ring instead of making a knot at the end and still want to keep the orange ring the way it is at the start of the braid?
@AndreasGustavsen34 жыл бұрын
First, thanx for a great video. 👍 But I was planning on using this as a chain to my wallet, so the end needs to be a loop of some kind, so I can attach a shackle or keyring to it. Any idea how to do that other than just tying the ends together?

His long delays between moving the cord into position is distracting. Staring at a screen without movement doesn' make whatever i just saw prev any clearer. I needed a quick refresher & found the way I learned here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6W6iHRsgraLfac Whatever is happening in this video, hes just working the longest string, or the one furthest from the actual braid. I was surprised how many ppl liked this, when I could not understand it and already knew how. Your comment verified my sanity 🙂

Trust me, your directions are very clear. Your fingers are not in the way compared to TIAT's video on this same braid. Don't get me wrong, I love his stuff, but I simply canNOT follow his vid. He makes the twist with his hands completely hiding what he's doing and doesn't say what he's doing, and then shows the result. So it's trial and error until you think the it looks the same . Extremely frustrating.
