I have the iLoud MTM Studio monitors and they are amazing. I had Genelecs prior and these are able to provide just as much clarity in a smaller package, with better low end response, at half the price.

After purchasing and living with the iLoud Precision MTMs from IK Multimedia for the last 6 months, I wanted to take a moment to share how much I love these speakers. I ordered a pair of the iLoud Precision MTMs back in September of last year. IK had just announced the iLoud Precision series and were making some seriously bold claims about them. Claims like: - Perfect time alignment - Ultra-flat +1/-1 dB from 45 Hz to 30 kHz (?!) - Extended range down to 36 Hz - Built-in speaker calibration - Audio performance that beats monitors three times their price (?!?!) I’m certainly no authority on the subject of studio speakers. But these claims caught my attention. Mainly for 2 reasons: 1. The speaker correction software I was using to tune my system to my room introduced hundreds of milliseconds of latency all the time. Meaning I had to bypass or quit the speaker correction anytime I needed to record or film. 2. Despite my efforts to outfit my space with acoustic treatment, constantly tweaking speaker placement, and owning a 4-way system (3-way monitors + subwoofer + software = $4700 USD), the low-end continued to be a moving target. Now I’m not saying #2 is entirely the fault of my old setup. No doubt there was probably some user error somewhere. But with all those moving parts, I just felt there had to be an easier and more streamlined way to work. Upon arrival and setting up the iLoud Precisions, I listened to all sorts of music that afternoon. And seriously, I hadn’t had that much fun listening to music in a *long time*. The imaging and transient details are bananas! Mixing on the iLoud Precisions dramatically sped up as well. Far less bouncing between listening on studio speakers and double-checking on my iPhone. Between the: - Fantastic sound and stereo imaging - Built-in and latency-free ARC speaker correction - X-Monitor app and remote for direct access to speaker controls - The Precision line’s ability to emulate other speaker models The iLoud Precisions have truly transformed and streamlined my workflow. Now my speakers are tuned 100% of the time. Whether I’m recording, mixing, filming, mastering, etc. Because the ARC filters are stored inside the speakers. Not in a separate app living on the Mac. Of course I would be remiss to not mention that the iLoud Precisions are on the pricier end. And I 100% understand that not everyone may have the budget or even desire for speakers that cost $899 - $1199 per speaker. BUT - for me, a guy on the internet claiming to know a lot about stuff like audio and music, etc. It’s crucial to me that I can trust what I’m hearing - no matter what. And the circumstances of my old setup had too many conditions to negotiate and contend with. Now? I can say I’m very confident and quite happy 🙂

Hey Chris, thanks for taking the time to go through the features, all the B-roll really drove the point home. I had the iLoud Micro for many years, and my son is now enjoying them in his space. And now you've got me thinking… thanks, man.

I have the iloud micros… my mixes improved exponentially and with less trips to the car. They sound great and have excellent/accurate bass response. These seem like a nice upgrade!

Chris thanks your video very informative. I was planning to upgrade my studio the Kali audio in 5 monitors which have great reviews as well, now I am thinking on breaking the bank on the precision MTM s.

Thanks for the review Chris, I wondered what you are standing the speaks on -looks like a swivel stand. I’m thinking to do something similar, can you tell me what you used - cheers

Thanks for the great info and review! Question: so can the speakers themselves run through a room calibration process entirely on their own WITHOUT needing to download any software?
@stefano614911 ай бұрын
You can set them up manually without software.

Once calibrated, you say the filter will be stored within the speakers, that means you don't need to run the application ecery time you wanna use them? Also, do the speakers store the actual filters so you get the correction you see on the application, or do they rather select the filters available in the little buttons behind accordingly?

Thanks so much for your review. Full of good perspective. Looks like you have pretty awesome room treatment, so I imagine the improvements with calibration were not a big? Or did did it make a rather bigger difference with the size of the area your workstation is in?

Thanks for making this video, Chris! I can't believe the LACK of info/videos/reviews on these monitor, considering the hype that initially came with their introduction, a while back now!?? ... I just don;'t get it?? I thought IK would be all over promoting these things with the benefits they have to offer?

Chris I actually bought the IK Precision 6 speakers after seeing your studio tour video and they’re fabulous, I’m never going back. Had no idea my room actually made my old speakers sound so boomy. I think it’s so weird that there’s no option to set them to mono in the software. I emailed IK about it asking if I was missing something because it seems like an obvious feature to have on high end speakers. They emailed back a single sentence response - “The precision speakers can not be set to mono.” Am I crazy?
@sergeyleps8492 Жыл бұрын
I mean, are you serious??? That is, if you buy this MTM One - to work in MONO, then I will not be able to set it up? Am I understanding you correctly? I just wanted to buy One MTM just for control and mixing in MONO. Isn't that possible with these speakers? What a Shame... In Jeneleg's setup system, they have positions strictly in the Center on their grid - and the calibration, accordingly, occurs strictly in MONO for this Central monitor. I'm confused then. After all, IK is now positioning its Early TMTs for Immersive work so Loudly (and there monitors are located in MONO as well) .. A very strange message from you. I'm confused now.

Chris , thanks for the walkthru. While a good idea, IK generally makes decent consumer level Hardware and software that is NOT pro level . Thats their reputation. Good marketing but not so good product design.
