that would be great - multi floor is always another level of 3D chess for channel planning - also any neighboring space that has Wifi outside your control also

hi how much is the license or how do I get it, I just bought the side kick 2, but it wont work without the license, whats the way forward this is so frustrating.? someone please help..

$12,985 USD and is on a subscription for software use? That is so not worth it.

If you design enterprise wifi it’s 100% worth it, as well as troubleshooting and doing heat maps

Previous Ekahau user here, the Sidekick 2 is pretty amazing especially the spectrum analyzer sweep speed. This isn't for a home user to even really try to justify, it's meant for business and ones that either need some end-of-year expenses or ones that employ wifi engineers.

@@RobertMoreland I’m a small business but had been saving up towards getting it. Getting it to do videos on was just a bonus I will still have to pay the yearly subscription on

The push to perpetual licensing urks me. What yearly development are they adding to the device to justify that on going cost? A one off charge of 13k would make sense at a big enough scale

i dont like licences on physical devices like you physically own the device but not the code running inside.

What’s is the advantage of leaving 2.4 off on some APs? Wouldn’t it be better to connect to the nearest AP although it probably shares band and has interference with another AP?

Good video, don't forget to view the RSSI as a mobile device for a more accurate heatmap for tablets/phones as opposed to the measured signal which is default.

we don't use meters in Canada? We learned off metric. However i do agree that drawings often use the feet/inches format. As a side note Unifi just released innerspace, haven't tried it yet but has potential.
