They wouldn't even listen to the women who told those cops that she had more information about what was going on... basically he just "shoed & shushed" her away .Unfortunately this arrogance & incompetence led directly to the demise of Konerak ... or the "asian male. It appears people are comparing real life to the drama on Netflix which if you watch the testimony of the man that got away, is embellished for entertainment. Its not a documentary. Police deal with drunk & disorderly people all the time, most people wouldn't even allow the cops in their house & tell them to F off. Darmer cooperated, showed evidence the poor victim had come from his apartment, no signs of domestic abuse or crime. The cops legally couldn't take the victim when no crime they where aware of was committed. It's easy to judge with hindsight. Cleveland was also not the one to discover Konerak Sinthasomphone. It was actually Glenda's niece, Nicole Childress, who saw Konerak fleeing from the building, bloodied and bruised, which she explains in this interview. While waiting for the police, Dahmer approached her, and whent he officers arrived, they never asked Childress for any details of what had occurred, instead focusing on Dahmer. While they were asking questions, Childress went to get Cleveland, but when they came back, everyone was gone. We know that tragically, Konerak was murdered by Dahmer not long after this. Tenants of that building stated the odor was in parts of the lobby and hallway as soon as you entered. Once again, ignored! No proper look around at the least!?! A distressed boy, visibly young, physical injuries and bleeding (more than he’s admitting to on the stand), and doesn’t speak and when he does minimally in his native tongue… Dhamer was sloppy! His murderous ways were so frequent it could not be contained with what he did with the bodies and the need to keep them. The infuriating part isn’t the lack of “policing” but that the poor policing was due to the racial and socioeconomic make up of the neighborhood. Dhamrr knew that! His comments about the police and crime to the cops shows he was playing them. They didn’t care, didn’t take anything seriously and showed up because of the dispatch. Their actions on every level make this apparent! RIP to all victims and peace of mind to their families, friends and community.

these were good cops. And extremely remorseful after he found out what happened. The police followed all necessarily procedures. The only thing these police should have done was check in on Dahmer's details by radio, and even then, that does not mean Dahmer's crimes would have been discovered. He would have been charged with assault and dragged off to the police station. But If they would have arrested Dahmer on the basis of the investigation they did do, THEY would have been breaking the law....there was no probable cause. That is why they got their jobs back. Dahmer DUPED them, just liked he duped other police, a judge, his parole officer, his family, his victims... Do people really expect these police to have thought that in the house there were dead body parts, severed heads in fridges, etc.? No one would expect that! They simply thought it was 2 extremely drunk lovers who got into a quarrel and Dahmer provided evidence that they were a couple. They looked into his room and saw nothing. There was no evidence of the young child being hurt except for a small knee injury. How were they to know he was drilled in the head? Or do people walk around a lot with holes drilled in their heads? If the police are too intrusive, then everyone says they are overstepping the line and infringing on our rights. Instead of blaming the police, blame Dahmer for causing all of this. @@crittah74 and you have all these dodos like "I respect law enforcement but.." nah, they need to say it with their chest and admit that cops are just a bunch of brutes who are really just bodyguards for capitalism and the system. When people hit the streets and protest, they're busy shooting their asses with rubber bullets instead of solving MURDERS. My god how we have devolved.

So there were 3 incompetent cops? I love how he keeps going back to the fact that the guy who answered no questions, gave no responses at all didn't object when they said they would leave. Gross negligence

The officer really said that the smell was that of a bowel movement☹. I’ve smelled decomposing animals before and it smells nothing like someone having a bowel movement. He’s just trying to cover his tracks because the interview with Glenda Cleveland, she said that the smell was that of death…like something had died. She also stated that Konerak Sinthasomphone looked every bit of a minor and that she told the office when he was trying to question the young boy that he wasn’t a adult 🥺 She even called several times after the officers left to inquire about the child and just like they ignored her for two months when she called in to inform them about that monster…they did the same thing when she called about that young boy. Had they took her seriously when she called them months before hand, five lives could have been saved!

Contrary to what the the show depicts, Glenda Cleveland didn't actually live in the Oxford Apartments. She resided in a different apartment building next to the Oxford block. Nash' character is a more accurate portrayal of Pamela Bass, who did live in the Oxford Apartments and interacted with Dahmer. She, however, believed him to be kind and personable, even going so far as to accept (and eat) a sandwich from him, not suspecting anything

The dead body of Tony Hughes was on Jeffrey's bedroom floor. When you die your bowels are released. That's what the POS cops were smelling.

Could you imagine being drugged, a hole drilled into your skull by a serial killer. But you somehow manage to escape & even get the police to come. You can't speak & clearly need help, but the officers let the killer carry you back into the place you were just violated, & he finishes killing you. I'm absolutely dumbfounded as to why & how this was able to happen! Disgusted isn't even remotely close to the feelings I feel right now. That poor 14 yr old boy was almost out of it, & these incompetent so called officers, simply places him back into the place where he would take his last breath. What the actual FAWK!!!???

He and his partner are some of the worst cops ever. Disgraceful. They shouldn't have been able to remain officers. They didn't deserve to hold that position. That child died because of this man.

A scuffed knee is all he saw but the people trying to save konerak clearly said he was bleeding 🙄konerak looked like a child compared to Jeffery who was 6 ft and grown asf anybody with a brain could see that wasn’t his “boyfriend”

How the hell do you take the word, EVERY word of a guy (Dahmer) who clearly didn’t appear in no way to be the victim and therefore could possibly be the offender. And the situation isn’t solved unless you hear out both parties involved, the boy never was able to confirm to the cops that everything was ok and that Dahmer’s information was accurate of him because he was drugged. They failed that boy miserably.

It was because Dahmer was a white male and this neighborhood was inhabited primarily by people of color. Back when this all came out in 1991, they played the police recorded tapes and the 911 calls and the cops made jokes about it being a gay lovers’ quarrel and they hoped they didn’t catch anything. They also dismissed the concerned callers because the women were black. It was really disgusting.

Maybe the boy did speak or try to leave again and the Police lied about that as well. The whole story stinks to high heaven.

How those cops didn’t get charged for sending a child that couldn’t speak he was so drugged is beyond me. Especially when people were stating that he was just a child.!
