I had the same Classical Music Theory instructor at Chabot College in Hayward, CA as Jimmy Webb (probably a couple of decades later) in the 1980s, the guy's name was Otto Mielenz.

Your comment was quite right. G Campbell was an extremely accomplished guitarist and I'm sure even he would have been impressed with the beautiful chordal embellishments.

Jake: As always, your playing and arrangement are superb. Very sweet new guitar. It speaks for you like an old friend, an extension of your soul. Although logistics and health will not permit this, meeting you and experiencing your playing from arms-length top my bucket list. I doubt you can imagine the depth to which your playing reaches your fans. Thank you for continuing to share your gift, talent, and and hard work. God Bless you, Jake.

Beautiful new guitar. I have a handmade small body archtop as well made by Oregon luthier Stephen Holst, but I'm afraid mine just hangs on the wall as I'm playing nylon exclusively these days. I too am a life-long Glen Campbell fan. When I was a boy his TV show was required watching in my house since both my father and older brother were also guitarists. So many great musicians were showcased on that show. Thanks for posting this one--it's one of my favorite Campbell signature tunes. Looking forward to many more videos played on the Comins.

Great new guitar! you surely can make to sound beautiful a broomstick with six strings! :) I really love your arrangements. I'm a humble fingerstyler, and I'm always impresed by your sense of the tempo and your harmonies. You always catch the esence of a song, and create something new and full of sensibility. +Jake Reichbart I just shared it on G+. :0) I also watched the documentary "I'll Be Me" which chronicled Glen Campbell's life and career. It included a farewell to his fans on his final tour. His 2011 Alzheimer's diagnosis spurred him to do this last tour. Respect goes out to him & his loved ones for taking on this endeavour. BTW - his illness didn't seem to affect his masterful picking skills on the guitar. (He was one of the original "Wrecking Crew", so you know he had some chops! :0) )

As usual, beautiful playing and arranging. Also, very nice guitar, it really suits your style - and that's coming from someone who made his living building guitars for almost ten years. I like the clean, understated but nicely proportioned look of it. I'm a little out of touch these days, I was not very familiar with this builder but I will have to have a look at his website. Cheers.

Excellent stuff Jake! ... as usual. I used to have the GCS-1ES natural, a very underrated instrument. Very comfortable size, warm sounding pickups, easy to play with an excellent factory setup ( by Bill Comins himself). I guess now you need to do 'By The Time I Get To Phoenix'! Thanks for the tune.

Jimmy Webb wrote 100% of that tune. Glen was just the first to record it. Jimmy Webb also wrote a killer book about how to write awesome songs called Tunesmith. Great for all musicians, not just singer songwriters. Great read! I highly recommend. Cool guitar.

Jake: Please tell us about the new guitar. Your Ibanez has always been a source of inspiration to me, as the guitar was well-used and not a $5,000 + exotic instrument, but it could make such beautiful music in your hands. Now, a new guitar has that honor. So, what brand, model, strings, set-up, etc, and why a new one now? Sorry for my nosiness, but I have a tremendous interest in what you do. Thanks, as always.
