Thanks Clay, I’m so glad I found this video. I just bought the WE130. And I have quite a few 940s. You saved me a lot of time and experimenting to figuring things out. It would be great to know the formula for the mini 940s, the Bugouts and mini Bugouts. Thanks again 🙂👍🏼

Why would you tilt it?

When the knife has to be pushed forward so that the belly of the blade is far from the vise, tilting it helps keep the bevel even along the whole blade.

@@ClayAllisonNM Maybe I am crazy. I have 3 Benchmade 940's and I sharpen them on my WE100 in the top depth holes, flat on the depth gauge. I don't have my data card with me right now on placement. However out of the box with a sharpie I got quite even removal across the bevels that only required minor touch up. My 940s on even the older WE are amazing. I am still having a hard time getting why the tilt

@@schism8286 I'm pretty sure you're not crazy. If your technique is working for you, go with it. I had found in the past that I was getting a slightly larger bevel in the front when I didn't tilt it. I might have been overly picky or maybe the knife I was sharpening was ground a tiny butt differently.
