This is a great video Tim! Don't apologise and keep going. You are easy to watch and listen to and while I can hear the nerves occasionally in your voice it only serves to make it more authentic and human. I used to hate presenting at work and learned through practice to embrace it. I found it really useful when someone reminded me that no one knows what you are going to say so there are no mistakes!

Thanks for the kind words! And it's interesting: I was very much in doubt wether that much repetition in the explanation (demonstration) actually worked if you wanted to learn the song. Then take it all in small steps! Playing "solo acoustic" or fingerstyle guitar is an advanced style, and it requires you to have a number of things under your belt before you have a good chance at success! Take your time on the basic chords, those will open the way to this style!

I use the guitar as an accompany device to sing. I'm not a great guitar player but plan on attempting learning this wonderful acoustic arrangement. Singing at the same time might be rough. Thanks for posting this video.

Hi David! I'm guessing you could probably sort it out quite quickly by using the basic groove (and chord progression) to accompany yourself, and only learn the instrumental bits (intro, interlude) in between the parts where you have to sing. I don't see the need to play the melody if you can sing it!

I recall being really nervous about putting this first tutorial online since the internet (as well as the KZbin comment section) is not the friendliest of places. However, I couldn't have been more off with that conclusion: the support and response I got from day one has been heartwarming. The acoustic guitar community on KZbin really is something else. I've done more than 20 other tutorials now, and I'm much more at ease. But I being nervous about putting something new out there is still a thing, each and every time!
