Y’all, there’s 5 months until Thanksgiving. That’s plenty of time to rush to whatever theater you’ve got to get to and see the play before the movie! Hurry!!! The play is so good. Music, fantastic. Set pieces, fantastic. Stage effects, fantastic. Please, do yourself a favor and see the play so you can understand the movie.

You should read the book and then see the play. You need to understand. This is the PREQUEL to ‘The Wizard of Oz..’ how the Wicked Witch becomes wicked. And the Good Witch (originally ‘Galinda’, later she becomes ‘Glinda’.) becomes kind and good.

I wouldnt say reading the book is essential. yes, the play is inspired by the book. but it is a very loose adaptation. the book is very different
