Last Sunday I decided to race a 17 mile fat bike race at Borderland Park in Easton, MA on a demo Fatback Bikes Rhino, wearing a freaking Evo gimbal the whole time.

Nice video. As a local, I enjoy watching you clean lines that leave me on my ass. It gives me some inspiration. If you're open to ideas, I think it would be interesting to see coverage of the organization of some of these local races. Maybe some interviews with the folks who put it together and the work that goes into them.

Picked up a Fatback Rhino last year, and they are even more fun in the summer. I just can't get over how awesome that bike is, and I don't even miss full suspension unless it's a chunky downhill.

Oh yeah, dude! I took it so seriously, I didn't stop to change my GoPro battery on lap two. #Pro. VT3 was really just an inside-job race coverage. Though I did feel sort of like I was racing my bike for a minute there on the second lap of the final stage.

That looks like Claremore Mountain Bike Trails in Claremore, Oklahoma. They are really good and well maintained. They have miles of trails.

Loved it! The video was so fun to watch! Hmm, I just checked out your video list and a lot of them seem to have those weird bikes with narrow tires! I own two fat bikes, although I haven't collected the second one yet. But they make me feel like I'm a big kid riding a giant BMX. Yeah right, a 66 year old big kid! But I love tha fattie! Hopefully the fatties will get rid of the fat guy in me!!!!!!!

wordreet I am 48, I want to get a fat bike just not sure which one to get a full suspension or one with out? Will be mostly woods trail riding. Also don’t want to go broke buying one either

@@Northeast_Mainiac I've never ridden a full sus bike. Front only on just two as well. But it's going to depend on your style of riding really. If you're into wicked downhill stuff, then suspension will most likely be the best choice. But anything else and my advice is pretty limited, and fat bikes aren't all that popular, so research will prolly take a bit of time. I came via BMX many years ago and didn't really get into MTB riding all that seriously. Mostly because I always rode while walking my dog near home. But I have a Calibre Dune, which seems to be out of stock now. It's an ally framed fat bike that wasn't available in the US. At the moment I'm enjoying it and trying to improve my fitness. It ain't easy. When you get older your body responds less well to exercise. I'd recommend getting a used one and just try it for a few weeks, before you decide to spend more money. Just make sure it's the right size and reasonably light weight, Good luck Michael. 👍

Hey nice vid. Just wondering what Gopro you used making this video? The audio sounded way better than other videos I’ve seen using a GoPro hero 5 with an evo gimbal and I didn’t detect any motor noise from the gimbal.

Yup, that's a whole thing with doing these types of POV videos. I use a Hero 4 Silver with little wind muffs in front of the mic. I also have a Karma Grip and a Hero 5. It's technically a better camera/gimbal setup but I don't use it when I need useable audio.

Great riding! To be honest I had the sound turned down, because of the constant commentary. I also skipped the first four minutes. Everyone drives to the ride and eats breakfast, I didn't need to see that. Still a good ride video! Thanks!

Winter is not the time to be mountain biking. Too snowy, too icy, too cold. Spring , summer, and fall are better times to go mountain biking.
