Hey, this is a great tip. I set out to befriend Caroline as quickly as possible on a fresh save file, and after talking with her every day and giving her a couple gold star daffodils (and some regular ones when I couldn't find a quality one before the end of the week), I just barely got her to two hearts on Spring 11, which was perfect for getting a money boost right before the strawberries at the Egg Festival. I did grind for forageables like crazy, even starting on the Forest Farm for a few extras and planting the community center wild seeds (which I never do). Ultimately, I was able to craft 47 tea saplings to sell before the festival, with fiber as the limiting factor. 23 grand is nothing to sneeze at that early, and I didn't feel like I had to play exceptionally or pray for luck. Thanks for the idea!

@@qwerty3793 day 11 is not possible with your method. talking to an npc gives 20 friendship points. gold star duffodils are 45 x 1,25(gold bonus) = 56,25 points. you can give a person 2 presents per week so 56.25 x 4 = 225 points. you need 250 points per heart which means you have to talk 14 times to her to get the missing 280 point for breaking thw 500 points to get the 2 hearts.
@qwerty379311 ай бұрын
@@Vittrich Okay, so I wasn't fully clear with my method here - I also went around and met all the villagers for the introductions quest, gaining a free 100 friendship points with Caroline (and everyone else). That meant I only had to talk with her 9 times to get the missing 180 points, making it easily possible by Spring 11. It has been a long time, but I wasn't lying about the day I got to 2 hearts. Edit: Due to the use of a couple regular quality daffodils, talking to her 11 times became necessary to break 500 points. The math checks out here.

So because the 1.6 Update changed a Tea Sapling's selling price to 250g each, there's updated numbers for profit margins. With her logic in each point (Spring, Winter, Winter-Jar, Winter-Keg), the new profit margins would be 825g for Spring, 653g for Winter, 463g for Winter with the Jar, and a negative profit of -307g with Iridium Crystal Fruit Wine (Winter with Keg).

Okay well this is a game changer - not just for early game money but when I don't want to grind for four more years to get enough gold for the Clock I can convert the stacks of forageables I've hoarded into tea saplings. Guess that's my job for this evening XD Another cracking video Wickedy!
@brownian292 жыл бұрын
Haha that is EXACTLY what I am doing right now - I am at 90% perfection and my last obstacle is that darn golden clock! I thought I would have to grind for years too but honestly I have started to make an exponential profit by creating a shed full of kegs/crystalariums and preserve jars. I had to buy more coal from Clint but it was worth it. I have a ton of pineapples on my ginger island farm and I process them in the jars, while I save the kegs for ancient fruit & starfruit wine. (Crystalariums are for diamonds and I also grow a lot of fairy roses to make fairy dust). I don’t bother aging the AF wine but the starfruit wine is worth it to make iridium quality starfruit wine instantly. I started at making a million a season in year 4 and I am now nearing 3 million/season. I could optimize it more by completely filling my preserve jars shed but they process every 3 days so it isn’t a big deal. You can definitely reach 10 million in a year with even a suboptimal setup! *Also: I have like the worst farm (Riverland b/c I was new to the game) so I felt like I was always inefficient with my farm. But the big shed had totally changed my Stardew Valley life - you can process so much more.

I'm not giving up on wine as a major source of income, but this method is definitely a better use of those seasonal forage seeds. May cease to be necessary after a while, but it will certainly help boost profits to get the money for expensive projects.
@Footballar093 жыл бұрын
Yes, making wine will be better eventually but it takes a while before you get to level 8 farming for kegs as well as its expensive material costs (or mined which also takes a lot of time at first). I never thought you could make that much by spring 15 of year one, my only other playthrough with my wife we were broke....lol
@JoshuaRWorkman3 жыл бұрын
@@Footballar09 Oh, I know. Gotta learn to walk before you can run and all that, but one component of kegs, oak resin, you tap trees for and it takes longer to get around unless you tap every oak tree possible and wait for them all to be ready, but you have the benefit of being able to hoard it much sooner as tappers come at an earlier Farming level. That said, if you for some reason decide to buy the wood and ore to make the bars for your kegs, you can use the tea sapling method to have the money, at least for a little while. It's not so expensive, but once you have reached Farming 8 to begin making kegs, you can make some wine or juice, sell it, then use the profits to buy more wood and ore. Or you could be like me and aggressively pursue honey and use the proceeds from flowered honey in conjunction with other methods, hoard your first few bottles of wine to age so you get more from the sale, then buy the wood and ore. That's what I'm talking about when I say getting the money around for expensive projects.

This is INSANE! I loved this! I'm playing fall of year 2 right now, so I think I'm gonna cover my farming space with fiber seeds while I explore Ginger Island during the winter to make a TON of passive income. It should be MORE than enough to help me afford to have two junimo huts by the first day of spring.

Thanks! I need to save up 100,000 gold for my cellar and I don’t have all that money so I was looking for an easy way. This so helps!

Ok, you have my undying devotion! This game has brought me to tears of frustration playing on the Ps4 (it’s much harder with the controller) as we don’t have the option of cheats or even mods. Now if this works I won’t fee like every season is just one slog of watering, chopping and mining for a measly few grand at season change. Many thanks, I’m subbing.

This is such an early game changer! The only problem is the fiber limit. It takes forever to get the fiber seed recipe, or to unlock the worm cave. And I always need fiber for crafting stuff as well. I will always grow about 50 tea plants simply because I love their low maintenance high value factor, but this will be a really nice get rich quick scheme for multiplayer.

I found a use for my mushrooms! :o never thought of tossing them into the seed maker. I just crafted my first tea sapling and placed it in my greenhouse - was looking for guides on what to do with the tea leaves and glad I ended up here. ~
