I got my first for killing a bat. Fun fact: the moment you reach floor 120 in The Mines all enemies (and I do mean All) have a 0.04% chance to drop them indiscriminately meaning you can go Murder Mad on weak monsters at the early Mine levels and depending on how lucky one gets…

I found my 1st prismatic shard yesterday! I found it in the quarry. It was my 1st time ever seeing a rock with swirls, so I was super curious. Thankfully, I knew to take it to the desert instead of donating. The skull cavern feels less intimidating. I definitely have the check the guild for more galaxy weapons if they are unlocked now.

I go to the Skull Mines fully-stacked! All 3 types of bomb-boys (bought from our friendly neighborhood dwarf), as many triple-espressos as I can grow, brew, and make, along with purchasing (from our friendly desert trader) as many spicy eel meals via rubies and staircases with jade!!! Yet, I'm still super uneasy going into the skull mines, despite having all of the best equipment, "tools," and food. I just don't know what it is about it. Maybe it's just my brain having issues. In any case, I hope you're having a blast playing Stardew!!!💚💜💚 It sucks! I guess it'll just take practice. It's hard for me to take in and learn new things due to a variety of health issues and head injuries, though I keep trying. The last visit to skull mines ended with me dying while trying to escape and eat food. Luckily, this type of thing has happened to me so many times that I was fast enough to reset back to groundhog day before it saved. I swear, I played that day so many freaking times, never finishing (for a multitude of reasons). It sucks to see others who are so freaking good at it and then I can't get even a tiny part done in the same timeframe... But I won't stop watching because I enjoy them so much... Or stop trying to improve my own game. But man oh man, is it hard to find the proper motivation.

In my experience, the easiest way to get them is deep in the skull mine. The deeper you go the better. Build staircases and bombs to help clear floors fast and rush down as far as you can go.

7:30 the mineral you get from geodes is predetermined and you can use the stardew valley predictor to check when you'll get one

The burglar ring is insane, it straight up doubles all drops. I've gotten pretty much all of my shards from random monsters in the mines and skull cavern, along with some other good stuff. Farming dust sprites is now one of the first things I do in a run

@@senbebe3320 nope. The game only checks if you have at least one burglar ring equipped, so multiple rings make 0 difference. Also, prismatic shards might not even be affected by the burglar ring from what I have heard.

@@senbebe3320 Nah they don’t stack. You’re better off combining the burglar with the luck ring, if you want the best chance of drops. Personally I use the burglar ring paired with the slime ring, and the iridium ring paired with the luck ring for maximum drops.

If I remember correctly, my first find was while fishing Also, a tip when coming to the dino egg, use it in your chicken coop first before putting it in the museum. It took me 7 real life months on my save before I got another one.

@@witha1 yes but the Dino egg is rare drop compared to what the other drops are as well as the floor itself. So yes, that is the "easier" thing to do but why potentially waste as much time as I did and go the actual way route, ya know?

@@larchan1350 the icubator way is a lot slower since it takes like multiple days to hatch and like an entire in-game season (i think) for the dino to grow up and then a few days till it lays an egg, while going to the skull caverns could take like one day bc you're bound to find at least 1 pre hostoric floor while going to floor 100+

A little extra tip if you have access to the geode crusher, place one in Clint’s shop so that if you get a prismatic shard you can throw the next Omni geode you have in it to get a second prismatic shard.

Or my personal favorite method... Constantly invade the skull caverns with loads of mega bombs and stone staircases in hand. That and plenty of meds for the very lower levels from holes in the ground. Did I mention stacks of iridium ore in the process?

If you happen to be on PC (I think it’s possible on another device type but I’m not sure) you can get them by buying a farm animal and including the item ID for the prismatic shard in the animals name, it will only give you one per animal but that’s still pretty good :) I know some people don’t like to use this method tho

In one of my first ever games, I found a P-Shard earlier than ever since - and gave it to Gunther! Until recently (v1.4), my favourite way to get a Prismatic Shard was...not to. Due to a coding duplication, if you held the plain, pale green wallpaper between the pillars - Hey Presto - Galaxy Sword! **This does NOT work anymore** One exploit that DOES still work is to add item codes to your animal names. Is it "cheating"? - YES.... but it's "adjustable" cheating. ;-) If you call your first chickens Layla[74] & Eggatha[74] (square brackets required), then as Marnie names each, sending them to your coop, you will get one Prismatic Shard. I have more often used [645] (Iridium Sprinkler), which can be made "less-cheaty" using [337] (Iridium Bar], or even [386] (Iridium Ore)... or, for the random chance detailed in your video, [749] (for an Omni Geode).

The first time I found one was while I was in skull Cavern 4 the second time. I was really scared because the last time I was in skull Cavern I didn't have a weapon strong enough to kill the monsters so I just got swarmed and almost died immediately but I needed iridium and being in the mines all day mining Omni geodes didn't help give me the amount I needed fast enough. While being attacked by monsters I got caught in my mega bombs' explosion so I couldn't tell if it came the monsters I killed, the monsters that got caught in the explosion, or from any of the ore&rocks destroyed by the bomb

This channel is the best! The first time I got one was in the skull cavern, but I was on a race to level 100 and made a mistake so I had to restart the game and lose the shard 😂

My first prismatic shard was found on floor 115 in the mines, by killing one of the shadow dudes. I started screaming 😂 and told my friend about it

I just got my first one on a sever with my mom! There were two of the mystic stones and I guess I choose right because her mystic stone didn't have a prismatic shard. Then I got my second one a day later in a omni geode and gave it to her.

Me and my sister were playing on our own singleplayer worlds and I found a mystic stone in my quarry. I searched up the droprate for a prismatic shard from one and said to my sister these exact words "Imagine if I get a prismatic shard"... Guess what I got.

My first prismatic shard was on level 4 in my 7th day of spring year 1. I didn't realize what fell into my hands, so i sold it to Clint. After i read about prismatic shard uses, I was SOOOOO angry at myself. My next shard was literally a year or two later.

It dropped from slime, and the second one is from shadow brute, I was in need of gold ores for my sprinklers and one of them attacked me, so i killed it. It dropped a prismatic shard. Yay!

I’ve been playing Stardew for about a week and when I unlocked the skull caver I immediately went. The first rock that I broke gave me a prismatic shard. Then 20 floors later i killed my first dino and got a dino egg.

I got my first out of an omni geode my 2nd was out of the quarry a few game days later. I still remember being so happy cause I had donated the 1st on to the museum and I knew how rare they were.

I found my first prismatic shard mining iridium ore. It was pretty exciting!

I got SO lucky - found one in the Quarry - and my second one when Fishing (treasure box). I used one for a Museum Donation, and the other for the Missing Bundle in the Joja Mart Ruins. 3 years on and still not found my 3rd LOL - I've bred Rainbow Trout, I've explored Skull Cavern a few times, but no luck since those first two.....all good fun :)

I found mine in the Quarry when I first unlocked it, haven’t gotten another since. Also, I had no idea how rare it was, so I just donated it to the museum lol

My third play through, I had the bugs from 10-20 drop them 3 times, and it honestly spooked me.
