Don’t think they were big hits, but Peter Dean (Pete Beale) even did a song about not being able to get a ticket for the World Cup, while Tom Watt (Lofty) did a cover of Subterranean Homesick Blues by Bob Dylan. There was even an EastEnders singalong album, some of the cast did a medley with Max Bygraves at the Royal Variety Performance. Nick was even on the cover of Smash Hits claiming I can’t sing for toffee! Anita’s a good singer, she did lots of musical theatre and Playaway before Angie came along, but some of her collabs with Brian May are a bit cringey!

Yeah, Nick Berry was trying to break into music so Simon May who composed the EastEnders theme tune wrote the song so it could be incorporated into the storyline in order to promote the single.
